So I decided to swatch a few lip products this evening. I tried taking pictures with the flash, and with a tissue over the flash. The pictures with the tissue over the flash actually look accurate, like my skin color. The pictures with the flash and no tissue look so much darker!
Blush – a light pink color, this pretty much matches my lipcolor
Pink – a light strawberry pink
Rhubarb – a light strawberry pink
Wallflower – a clear nectar-like shade, a wear-all blend of pink and peach
Radiance – clear with shimmer

Revlon Beyond Natural Liptint in Pink
Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Rhubarb
Aromaleigh Lip Creme in Wallflower
Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Radiance

I just love love love the peppermint oil in the Burt’s Bees lip shimmers. The avocado butter and chocolate smell of Wallflower is divine. Revlon’s smells fruity and sweet in contrast, which is nice.
Pricing:
Wallflower is $7.25, unless you catch it at 25% off (which happens fairly often since Aromaleigh runs sales every week)
Rhubarb is $5.00
Radiance is $5.00
Pink is $7.99
SPF:
Wallflower is made from mineral makeup and contains mica, titanium dioxide and iron oxides, so it likely has some SPF but how much I am not sure. Aromaleigh doesn’t have spf rating on their makeup because it’s fairly expensive to get such a rating, so usually only large companies get that done.
Rhubarb has iron oxide, mica and titanium dioxide as well, so it may have some SPF too, but how much is not stated on their website either.
Radiance has titanium dioxide and mica, so again, has some protection.
Pink has SPF 15, and its ingredient list says it has mica, titanium dioxide and iron oxide
Of the products, Wallflower is my favorite by far. Rhubarb and Radiance are nice and new. Pink is nice on occasion. I’ve noticed you can get lip shimmers on sale for either BOGO Free or BOGO Half Off, which isn’t bad at all. Wallflower is often on say for 25% off, which makes it the most inexpensive of the bunch. Revlon hasn’t yet been on sale by me, and is the most expensive of the bunch.
Here is the swatch without tissue paper, with flash:
Here is the swatch with a tissue paper over the flash:
Before I stumbled upon Aromaleigh, I never wore peachy-pink, nor would I have thought to try it. However, I love it now. It led me to branch out and try colors such as Revlon’s Pink and Burt’s Bees Rhubarb. Previously, I stuck to bright reds, blackened reds, dark wines, etc. I usually avoided pink like the plague.
What do you think? Do you like any of these shades? The nice thing about all of these products is that they feel very moisturizing on the lips. Only Revlon Pink feels a tiny bit waxy. To me, they all smell nice, though I’m sure that the peppermint oil might be a bit disconcerting to some. I think Wallflower is the most universally flattering shade. Several of my friends have tried it, and no matter our complexion, it seems to look great on all of us.
I did a swatch of Aromaleigh’s Luminary blush, from their elemental lustre collection.
Luminary – The softest, most luxe highlighting powder! Unlike anything currently on our site… even our Perlé, Luminese Divine or Illuminator Powder, the metallic Elemental pigments in this Cheek Glisten give it an otherworldly, delicate and soft silvery pink glow. Don’t let the appearance of the product in the jar fool you… it comes to life on your skin!
These swatches aren’t as good, as I couldn’t get the tissue/flash thing to work with this one.

I tried to wear this on my face today as blush, but it was really overpowered by my eye shadow, which is why I added Maidenchant over it.
I’m trying to figure out what sort of eye and lip to pair it with so it’s not overpowered. Any thoughts? I’m thinking maybe a sort of neutral eye look, such as Aromaleigh Entangle or Angelique or Angel Bouquet on the lid and Burnt Roses in the crease.
Entangle – A perfectly smooth silvery cinnamon pearlescent cocoa shade with a hint of pink
Angelique – Innocent mid-toned fawn pink with a hint of buff and opalescent highlights.
Angel Bouquet – Soft frothy peachy pinks and buff with the most delicate hint of a smokey base for drama.
Burnt Roses – Rich chocolatey cherry frost with tiny deep green sparks.
I’d love to hear what you think.
