This evening my husband and I went to International Mall so I could check out the latest MAC releases. I was pretty disappointed with Suite Array. As Muse and many other ladies have surmised, the texture of the eye shadow duos is pretty chalky and hard to blend. While I loved the Pearlglide eye liner, since it’s not waterline safe, I opted not to get it. Though the colors Rave and Spare Change were gorgeous. Black Russian wasn’t as pretty as I’d hoped it would be. Since Cremesheen is a new permanent collection, I just looked and skipped.
So, since I was disappointed with MAC, I went to Sephora to look at Urban Decay’s liner. I swatched Lust, and it was ok, but not as nice as Rave swatched, because I like the purple glitter in Rave. However, it’s definitely pretty smudge proof. I applied 2 lines of Lust, smudged one right away to see if it could blend, which it can, and then waited about 30 seconds before touching the other one. The other one didn’t move very easily after the time frame. I decided I’ll wait until November and then maybe pick it up then.
We decided to hit Victoria’s Secret so I could smell Very Sexy Dare. It has notes in it that I have liked in other perfumes, such as Pineappe, blod orange, jasmine, lily, musk etc. Going on, the overwhelming smell for me was citrus, and later on after I’d been walking around the mall, it smelled very powdery to me. Definitely not for me.
My husband wanted to hit Bath & Body Works next, as we haven’t really been in there in forever. I smelled Black Amethyst and actually liked it. We perused the aromatherapy stuff and Ray found something he had to have, Tranquil Mint. My husband is a lover of all things mint, and he loves how this stuff smells. I found something that smelled tasty, too,Black Raspberry Vanilla so that came home with us. Of course, they had a lot of nice seasonal stuff, including Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. It reminds me of spiced cider, very tasty. I bought a candle in that scent.
We went back to the MAC counter at Nordstrom’s, as I prefer the nice people there to the people at the MAC store. I looked at the Fluidlines, and decided to get Waveline (a navy blue with low level gold pearl), and Luna Cream Color Base (bright white with icy shimmer). This particular color can be used anywhere, including the lips.
The nice makeup assistant at the MAC counter tried to convince me to get Macroviolet fluidline and I think Stilife Paint, but I declined.
Regardless, it was fun to walk the mall with Ray and pop into different stores and try things out. This was a nice way to unwind after a bad week.
