I recently posted about my experience with the Bamboo bath sponge by EcoTools. I wanted to love this product but because I use shower gel, I wasn’t really happy with how it works. It’s better for someone who uses bar soap. Since I posted this review, I was contacted by a nice representative from the company Paris Presents, who creates this product. I related to her my experience with the product and how I’d liked other EcoTools products, specifically the makeup brushes that I’d used. She decided to send me ‘a few things’ to make up for me not liking the product. I was really surprised by this because I hadn’t expected any sort of response from the company. I can’t emphasize enough how impressed I am with their care for their customers. I normally only see customer service responses like this from very small companies.
When I received my package from Paris Presents on Tuesday, I was floored.

They sent me:
Bamboo powder brush
Bamboo foundation brush
Recycled retractable kabuki brush (I don’t see this on the site yet)
Bamboo 5 piece travel brush set (I don’t see this on the site yet)
Loofah bath sponge
Loofah and cotton body buff
Ramie bath and shower mitt
Bamboo and loofah facial buffs
Recycled foot smoothing stone (I don’t see this on the site yet)
Bamboo foot file
Bamboo bristle bath brush
and a
Break Your Bag Habit reusable shopping bag. (I don’t see this on the site yet)
The brushes are taklon, and feel great, just like my other EcoTools brushes.
I waited a few days so that I could try out some of the products they sent and review them.
First up, let me say I am in LOVE with the Recycled retractable kabuki brush! The bristles are taklon and feel heavenly on my skin. I have 3 kabuki brushes and this one is now my favorite. It’s like rubbing silk against my skin.
The Travel brush set is up next. The little kabuki in that set is nice, though not as nice as my small wood grained kabuki or as nice as the retractable EcoTools brush. However, it is small and I love its tiny size! The eye shadow brush in this set is great, though I’m using it for application of highlighting powder on my face. The concealer brush is nice and the bristles are firm without being too hard. The big fluffy blush brush is pretty nice. The bag that comes with it is cute as well.
I tried the bamboo and loofah facial buffs. I was a bit nervous about these, but once they were soaked under the water, they were great to use on my face. I normally use Angels on Bare Skin on my face, so I worked that into a paste as normal and applied it to my face, and then gently used the facial buff. My skin felt even smoother than normal after using the buff. I will probably continue to use it 2 to 3 times a week.
The ramie bath and shower mitt was nice. I’ve used it in two ways. The first, I used it with my Boots Almond, Pistachio and Olive oil body scrub. This helped me to exfoliate nicely and left my skin feeling like I got every inch of it buffed nicely. Then I used it with my shower gel. While it doesn’t lather up as much as a normal sponge, I was able to use only a bit more gel than normal and get myself clean. It made me feel like I didn’t miss an inch of my body with the cleansing. I like this as well
I haven’t tried the other products yet, but I definitely recommend these, especially the retractable kabuki brush. The bristles on these makeup brushes just feel so soft and silky against your face.

I would say depending on what you want to do, go for using Blood Lust in the outer vee and crease, full moon on the eyelid and brow bone. If you want to go even more ‘dark’ I’d suggest Blood lust on the lid and into the crease, then a Black eyeshadow in the outer vee and crease, and then I’d use either skelecat or full moon on the browbone.
I’m dressing up as a vampire tonight and I’m going to be using bloodlust, and black cat and a dark lippy.
I’ve never done the false eyelashes, but I hope they turn out well for you

Hi there! I LOVE my Ecotools brush sets; I have the six-piece brush set and the five-piece mineral brush set, and I love them! I, too, love the feel of their taklon bristles against my skin. I find myself using my taklon eye shadow brush for both my cream and my powder eye shadows (I’m thinking of getting a second one). I’m even thinking of getting a second set of the mineral brush set: one set for my regular routine (I use the concealer brush for spots and under-eye, and the crease brush to set my concealer), and another set for my actual mineral cosmetics, for the rare occasion that I use them. I’m looking forward to the bag when it comes out, someday, hehe.
