The Body Bakery – My Initial Review

I’ve now been using The Body Bakery products for long enough to give you my review on their products. The Body Bakery has at least 90 scents and they constantly seem to be adding new scents.

So far I’ve tried:
Sweet Rolls Perfume Oil
Sugar Sticks Solid Perfume
Body & Hair Icing
and
Whipped Cream

Body & Hair Icing
Body & Hair Icing is a 2-in-1 body and hair cleanser. It has a lot of great ingredients including witch hazel, lavender, aloe, sage and avocado.

I had to get the Almond Cookie shower gel because Ray is obsessed with Almond Scent. Almond Cookie is described as rich almond cream, and is one of the strong scents. When you use this shower gel, the scent fills the entire room, and it’s lovely. My skin felt soft and silky after using it. I have sensitive skin, and I can attest that for me this was a gentle cleanser that worked wonderfully. Ray is extremely happy with it, since it’s his current favorite scent.

Sugar Sticks Solid Perfume
The Sugar Sticks are the first solid perfume that I’ve tried and really liked. (Previously I tried Lush’s but I didn’t care for the scents)
They’ve got Aloe and Shea butter in them and feel wonderful on my skin. These are meant to be applied on pulse points, and I think they’re perfect to toss in your purse if you’re wanting to take a perfume on a flight and not have to worry about being hassled at the airport.

I chose Cherry Meringue Bites, a strong scent, which is described as juicy cherries folded into stiffened vanilla meringue. The scent seems to stay around for 5 or 6 hours on me.

Sweet Rolls Perfume Oil
Sweet Rolls are more like perfume that you might be accustomed to. It also contains Avocado, Shea butter and some coconut oil, which softens the skin. This is quite a long lasting product. I wore the Raspberry Lemonade scent for over 8 hours and could still smell it pleasantly on my wrists.

I chose:
Raspberry Lemonade, a strong scent, described as tart lemonade mellowed by sweet raspberry.
Apricot Vanilla Swirl, a medium scent, described as apricot blended with rich vanilla.
Sparkling Fruit Punch, a strong scent, described as a fizzing blend of strawberry, apple, peach and lemon.

I LOVED Sparkling Fruit Punch immediately. The blend of the four fruits just made it smell amazing to me.
Apricot Vanilla Swirl smelled odd when I first opened it, but once I tried it out, I really liked it.
I was afraid Raspberry Lemonade would be too strong for me at first, but once it melded with my skin, it was nice.

Here’s a size comparison on the Sugar Sticks and Sweet Rolls:

Whipped Cream
I received free samples of The Body Bakery’s best selling product (since 2001), their whipped cream. This stuff smells DIVINE!. It feels great on my skin and absorbs fast, moisturizing me and leaving me with a nice scent.

I received Caramel Apple, a strong scent, described as ripe green apple covered in sweet caramel. It’s a great blend of the two scents.. Apple is one of those scents that tends to be really appealing to individuals, and I think it’s a youthful scent.

I have some more scents coming to try by the Body Bakery soon (Cherry Chocolate & Creme de Caramel), as well as another product. I’ll be trying their Arm Candy Deodorant, and so will Ray. We were both curious as to how well their aluminum chloride-free deodorant works. Predictably, I picked up Almond Cookie for Ray to try, and Cherry Meringue Bites for me to try. You can be sure that after we’ve used those for a while that I’ll have a review up with a guy and girl’s perspective.

The Body Bakery has many other products that I’ve not yet had the opportunity to try, but hopefully I’ll be able to soon. They also have a Design-a-Dessert option so that you can create your own special blend for an item.

You should definitely go out and give The Body Bakery a try. They’ve got some wonderful products, and I’m entirely enchanted with them. Don’t forget, right now they have Free Shipping on all U.S. orders (if the order is for $39.00 or more). The Coupon Code is: SpringShip09. This code ends May 6, 2009. I believe that they do ship internationally, via First Class Mail International, which can take 6 to 10 business days to arrive.

If you give them a try, let me know what you like :)
