Meow Heiroglyph & Obelisk

This was really a very simple to apply makeup look, yet I think it looks great. I just put Heiroglyph on the lid, whisked Obelisk in the crease, and a touch of Chameleon on the browbone and I was done ;)

Shade Descriptions:
Heiroglyph – metallic chartreuse with verdigris overtones and metalllic gold undertones
Obelisk – metallic sage with taupe undertones and subtle metallic grey duochrome sparkle
Chameleon – iridescent glow with gold and copper shine
Biscuit – lightest shade with balanced yellow and pink tones
Tricky – peachy pink with shimmer
Bordello – clear-tone berry

Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Meow Heiroglyph – on lid
Meow Obelisk – in crease
Meow Chameleon – to highlight on browbone
Gel Eyeliner in Black Out – upper lash line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero – lower water line
Fyrinnae Inks in Captivating Cobalt – lower lash line
Aromaleigh Lash Primer
Benefit BadGal Lash Mascara in Black

Cheeks:
Buff’d Tricky

Face:
Buff’d Concealing Mineral Foundation in Biscuit

Lips:
Spell Vamp up gloss in Bordello

I absolutely love Spell Cosmetics lip glosses. Bordello is a nice color on me. I don’t necessarily feel a sting like it’s plumping my lips but I feel like the texture of the gloss and the color certainly make my lips appear fuller.

Ooh – another great look from the Egyptian collection.

      Fantastic!

I like the flash of blue liner under your eye. Very pretty!

      Hi Maura,
      Thank you!
I thought this would be a look that anyone could do, yet be pretty enough to catch attention!

      Hi Nicole,
I'm so glad you think so ;)

      Hi Karin,
Thank you! I put blue because a friend mentioned that she preferred blue to yellow gold, so I thought it would coordinate well.

Hieroglyph is a nice gold on you! Too bad you don't feel stinging/plumping action with Bordello. I do! Well, it's the first plumping gloss I've owned (besides a wet and wild, that doesn't count :)). I was like, what is that feeling? And then I remembered it was a plumping gloss! So I tried Obelisk and don't like it on as much as I do swatched. It just doesn't work for my eye color. I have to be carefull which greens to wear with green eyes. I like AL wintergreen better, and I think the two have a similar effect. However, I really liked the way I could blend/smoke out Obelisk. It must not be just metallic pigment since it becomes duskier with blending. Kinda like AL bete noire.

Gorgeous! I've been going back and forth as to whether I NEED a full size of Obelisk. I have a sample so I think I'm going to have to play with it a bit more before this collection is gone. It's really the only color in this collection that caught my eye. So many of them remind me of Aromaleigh Elemental Lustres which I already have a bunch of.

      Hi Tally,
Actually the plumping gloss that I had from e.l.f. is way stronger a plumping feeling than this, but I think the quality of the gloss is really nice.

I think a lot of the Meow duotones will blend down sort of how the Bete Noires do.

      Hi Robyn,
Glad you like! It's not a normal set of colors for me to wear, so it's a nice change.
I really love Miw, Anubis, and Nile from this collection, though I like Pharaoh, Royal and Ra a lot, too.

Gorgeous! That Obelisk is stunning on you and the metallic blue liner is the perfect pop of unexpected color. This look has a great elemental feel to it.

How are you liking the Buff'd?

I've only tried e.l.f's plumping gloss, but it did nothing for my lips, other than tingle a bit. I've started using a tiny amount of cinnamon oil to get a bit of a plump, which seems to be more effective than the glosses (or e.l.f's brand, anyway) and it tastes amazing, too.

      Hi Amanda!
Where do you get cinnamon oil? I would say if you over-used e.l.f.'s plumping gloss, like I have, it will work but be careful because you can chap your lips with it too :P It's one of the few e.l.f. products that I like.

I think that Buff'd concealing foundation has a really good texture, really silky feel, definitely gives good coverage, but so far no shade match. It's a good product though :)

I get my cinnamon oil (leaf, not bark) at http://www.mountainroseherbs.com although any good health food store should carry it. It needs to be heavily diluted with a carrier oil, like coconut or jojoba. I use coconut oil in the winter especially, to keep my lips from chapping. The cinnamon oil does irritate the lips, but that's what causes the plumping so I deal with it. :)

I'm not really a fan of e.l.f, although I do like their clear nail polish and the nude shade for french manicures when I need to be "dressy". I tried the e.l.f contouring duo and was so disappointed. I've been eying the Coastal Scents one. I keep running across YouTube reviews praising it.

      Hi Amanda,
I don't really care much for elf, except for those 'plumping' lip glosses and the shimmering facial whip. Nothing else really worked for me (though I have friends who love their stuff). Coconut oil plus cinnamon oil sounds nice ;)

If you're looking to contour what I've been using lately is either:
      A. Meow's Skinny Dippers (medium Sphynx) to contour the face
      B. Spell Cosmetics Soft Focus Neutral Blush

      and to highlight
      A. Meow Glows
      B. Aromaleigh Illuminators
      C. Spell Cosmetics Goddess Glow Blush

Thanks, Phyrra! I'll look into trying some of those. With cheeks like mine, I need all the help I can get! :D

      Hi Amanda,
Let me know how you like it ;)

I'm not a big fan of gold looks on myself (I like bright yellows, but not shimmer golds unless with another color), but I've been liking seeing them on you for the past few days (especially with that blue liner).

    • http://www.blogger.com/profile/02168093054712781267 Phyrra

      Hi Lindsey,
Thank you! I think Gold looks good with Blue, Purple, Green, etc as an accent ;)

this looks great. it seems nothing can go wrong with this collection.

      Hi Suzie,
      Thank you!
      This collection is definitely flattering!
I haven't had any problems with the colors going 'muddy' on me.
