I’ve been using Aromaleigh Cosmetics for over a year now. While I gave an initial review of them in May 2008, they’ve added a lot to their site since, so I wanted to do another, more in-depth review. (All images belong to Aromaleigh.)

They have a plethora of products covering all aspects of makeup. First let’s start with their foundations.
Foundation
I’m a fan of the Glissade formula. I originally thought I wore 1YL, but one day realized it looked to yellow, so I tried 1W and it wasn’t quite right. I had given up for a while on trying to find a good match and then Kristen suggested I try 1CL with just a bit of Alabaster to tweak it. That turned out to be a great match!
Glissade is a nice foundation that contains Zinc Oxide, which is a physical barrier from the sun. It’s also got silicone-coated pigments, so that it glides on and feels silky. It is paraben free, which is a good thing. Aromaleigh has 64 shades, and you can tweak your mix if necessary.
It is normally $16.76 for 8 grams net weight, but it is often on sale for 25% off.
Ingredients: Mica (CI 77019), Zinc Oxide, Titanium dioxide (CI 77891), Silica (Silicon dioxide), dimethicone, cyclomethicone, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)
While I have sensitive skin, this does not irritate it. It provides good coverage on my face and evens out my skintone. If I sweat, it doesn’t make me itch. I don’t break out from it. Since it matches my skintone well and applies easily, I really like it.
In addition to the Glissade formula, they have a Voile formula, which is a lighter formula.
They have a variety of primers, illuminators and finishing powders. However, I am only going to focus on what I use.
Ultra Resolution Finishing Powder
This is my favorite finishing powder ever. It gives me a flawless finish. I have both Clear and Peaches & Cream. While the subtle tint with Peaches & Cream is barely noticeable, it just gives me a sightly warmer appearance, I prefer the clear.
It’s $13.75 for 6 grame net weight, and it’s often on sale for 25% off.
Ingredients: silica (translucent/peaches and cream/english rose also contains mica (CI 77019), iron oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499) ).
The URFP, as it is fondly called, is a very fine powder and it somehow minimizes imperfections.
You’re a Doll! Finishing Powder in Metamorphosis
This greenish-grey product is another nice finishing powder. It illuminates your face with a bit of a glow and you can use it on its own or with the URFP.
It’s $15.50 (on sale right now for $11.63) for 8 grams net weight.
Ingredients: Contains: Serecite Mica, Mica (CI 77019), Titanium dioxide ( CI 77891), Iron oxides (CI77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), May contain Manganese Violet (CI 77742) or Ultra-marines. (CI 77007), Carmine
I have used this on its own over Glissade and I like the glow it gives. However, I also do like to use it over URFP if I’m going out because of how it makes my face look. The illumination is soft and etheral.
Twilight Supernatural Face & Body Powders
These powders are a lot of fun. They range from Lustre, to Sparkle to Dazzle. Luster is a luminous gleam, Sparkle is shimmery, and Dazzle gives you the Twilight Vampire effect of glittering in sunlight.
It’s $15.50 for 8 grams net weight, and they’re often on sale for 25% off.
Ingredients: Silica, Mica (CI 77019), Titanium dioxide (CI 77891). Dazzle formula contains Calcium Borosilicate.
I actually like all three, depending on what I’m using them for, but tend to use Lustre or Dazzle more than Sparkle.
Illuminating Perle Powder
I’ve tried several of these shades, using them as highlighters or blush, or mixed with blush. I think they’re nice, though I don’t use them all the time. Lux is the color that I reach for the most, with Tickle second. Lux even works well as a highlighter on the browbone.
It’s $13.00 for 7 grams net weight.
Ingredients: Sericite mica (CI 77019), Mica (CI 77019), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)
Gothic Lolita Starbright Mineral Shimmers
These are fun powders that can be used on the cheeks, eyes, face or body. Seabright, a teal, is my favorite.
It’s $13.75 for a 10 gram jar.
Ingredients: Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Ferric Oxide (CI 77491), Tin Oxide (CI 77861), Tin Dioxide (CI 778161), Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica
I have samples of all the colors, but I prefer Seabright and I use it on my lid for teal looks. I’ve also tried it on my cheeks for an interesting effect. The shimmer is a lot of fun.
From the Face category my recommendations are: Glissade foundation, Ultra Resolution Finishing Powder, the Starbrights and the Twilights.
Next we’ll move on to lip products.
Aromatherapy Lipbalms
The Aromaletherapy lipbalms are my absolute favorite products in the lip category. My favorite flavor is Minty Coco Chip. I can’t get enough of this. I use it at least twice a day, and sometimes more. It’s the first thing that goes on my lips in the morning and the last thing I put on them at night.
It’s $4.75 for .15 oz, and they’re often on sale for 25% off.
Ingredients: Prunis dulcis Oil, Apis mellifera (Beeswax), Butyrospermun parkii (Shea) Butter, Theobroma cacao (Cocoa) Butter, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Limnanthes alba (Meadowfoam) Oil, Oenothers biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Persea americana (Avocado) Butter, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Rosa mosqueta (Rosehip) Oil, Aloe barbadensis (Aloe) Oil, Fragrance
While I also love Delicate Vanilla Bean, nothing else really draws me in like Minty Coco Chip. These feel wonderful on your lips. You can also use them around your eyes if you want a nourishing cream for them.
Gothic Lolita Nourishing Color Cremes
These are great for some lovely, flattering color. I have all 8 shades. Lollypop and Sweet Tart are the two I reach for the most these days.
It’s $6.65 for .15 oz, and they’re often on sale for 25% off.
Ingredients: Prunis dulcis Oil, Apis mellifera (Beeswax), Butyrospermun parkii (Shea) Butter, Theobroma cacao (Cocoa) Butter, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Limnanthes alba (Meadowfoam) Oil, Oenothers biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Persea americana (Avocado) Butter, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Rosa mosqueta (Rosehip) Oil, Aloe barbadensis (Aloe) Oil, fragrance. May contain: mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides
Lollypop is a GREAT red. Creampuff is great for layering if you want to add a golden gleam to things. Wallflower is a pink-peach that’s flattering for almost everyone. Another great thing about these products are that you can use them on your cheeks as well as your lips. I love products that are multi-purpose. They’re also extremely moisturizing.
Bete Noire Mineral Color Creme
These lippies are shades that were made for fall/winter. They’re dramatic but wearable colors.
It’s $6.65 for .0975 oz but they’re currently on sale for $4.99.
Ingredients: Ingredients: Prunis dulcis Oil, Apis mellifera (Beeswax), Butyrospermun parkii (Shea) Butter, Theobroma cacao (Cocoa) Butter, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Limnanthes alba (Meadowfoam) Oil, Oenothers biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Persea americana (Avocado) Butter, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Rosa mosqueta (Rosehip) Oil, Aloe barbadensis (Aloe) Oil, fragrance. May contain: mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, tin dioxide, tin oxide
They smell like chocolate, are moisturizing, and have some great pigmentation. I prefer Juliette of the three, but Sylvie is gorgeous too. I’m not a fan of brown on me, but Monique is a nice color.
Color Infusion Botanical Lipsticks
These are ultra moisturizing lipsticks that smell like tasty chocolate!
It’s $6.65 for .0975 oz but they are often on sale for 25% off.
Ingredients: Olea europaea oil, Candelilla Wax, Cocos nucifera oil, Butyrospermum parkii butter, Simmondsia chinensis oil, Limnanthes alba oil, Rosa mosqueta oil, Tocopherol, Rosmarinus officinalis Oleoresin, Fragrance, May contain: mica (CI 77019), titanium dioxide (CI 77891), iron oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), D&C Red 40, D&C Red 33, D&C Red 7, D&C Orange 5, D&C Blue 1, Carmine.
Sweet is my favorite color from this set, as it’s a great lipcolor for a naked lip look. I also like Karma and Sassy, too. The fact that these smell like chocolate always makes me smile. No other company that I own lipstick from has chocolate scent.
Rocks! Sonic Lips Nourishing Lip Tint
These are based on the Rocks! Sonic rouge colors from the Rocks line of makeup. They’re a gorgeous hint of color on your lips.
It’s $6.85 for .0975 oz but they are often on sale for 25% off.
Ingredients: Olea europaea oil, Prunis dulcis Oil, Apis mellifera (Beeswax), Candelilla Wax, Cocos nucifera oil, Butyrospermum parkii butter, Simmondsia chinensis oil, Limnanthes alba oil, Rosa mosqueta oil, Oenothers biennis Oil, Persea americana Butter, Tocopherol, Rosmarinus officinalis Oleoresin, Fragrance, May contain: mica (CI 77019), titanium dioxide (CI 77891), iron oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), D&C Red 40, D&C Red 33, D&C Red 7, D&C Orange 5, D&C Blue 1, Carmine.
These are scary at first glance, just like the Rocks! Sonic Rouge colors, but they’re actually very wearable. My favorite is HeadOverHeels (wicked fuschia). I just wish that it was a bit brighter! These also smell like chocolate and are super moisturizing.
My recommendations from the Lip Products would be the Aromatherapy Lip Balm and the Gothic Lolita Nourishing Color Creme, and Sweet from the Color Infusion Botanical Lipsticks.
Now we’ll cover their cheek products.
Gothic Lolita Rouge
These are lovely blushes from the Gothic Lolita collection. Corset, Dolly and Rococo. Rococo is a peachy pink that tends to flatter most skin tones. Dolly is a clear pink, and Corset is a red, my favorite.
It’s $14.50 for .5 oz net vol.

I love Corset and feel like it’s just got the most amazing and flattering shimmer to it. I’ve even used it as an eye shadow. I was originally scared of blushes but gave Rococo a try and found it super flatttering. They’re really pretty bushes.

Rocks! sonic Rouge
When I first saw these blushes I was like, there’s no WAY I could wear those! Ever! Then I bought a fiber optic blush brush and learned how to apply blush.
It’s $8.25 for 3 gm net wt. but currently on sale for $6.19.

Candy-O is my favorite blush by Aromaleigh. It’s an amazing fuschia that seems to just make my skin glow and look amazing. These all give a great flush of color. Sinisterrouge is a nice burgundy tint, Wildflower is a slight purple-wine, and Sundaygirl is a reddish orange.
For cheek products, these are my favorites: Candy-O, Candy, Corset, Verve and Pure Opal.
Last but not least, we have the eye shadows. There are well over 400 eye shadows here, and I’ve tried just about all of them. I’m going to touch on my favorites.

Most eye shadow samples are $1 each. Most lip product samples are $1 each. Most face samples are $2 each. All orders of only samples ship free. Because of the inexpensive samples, I’m never afraid to try new colors.

Hello Cotton
Hiya!
Tagged you for an award at my blog.
I've recently tried out some eyeshadow samples from Aromaleigh, by your recommendation. I only ordered samples this time and I really like a lot of the colors. I will definetly be buying some full sized ones soon. I think my next order will have to be some lip products and maybe venture into foundation.
Loved the review! I am falling in love with Aromaleigh since I bought her samples! I ordered vivid sample and it was so amazing! I ended up making many orders from them and they will all arrive in about 2 weeks…
Glissade has a great formula! I am lucky and I'm exactly an 1W hahahah…. no need of mixing! ^^
I love my bete noir shadows and my rocks! too…
Hm… do you have pictures of you using Rocks! lip tint? I'm interested on them, but I can't find swatches anywhere x.x'

Hi Laura,
Wow, that's awesome!
And thank you!
I had a lot of fun writing it and I enjoyed putting together my little color collages.
I just recently came across their website and ordered a bunch of samples. I can definitely say that I'm impressed by the quality of their products and I can't wait to order full sizes. Thanks for posting this… I've been curious about some of the products I didn't get samples of. I guess I'll be ordering again soon
