Lumiere is having a pre-buy brush sale. You can pre-buy from November 1 through December 15, 2009. The brushes will arrive at Lumiere around January 20, 2009. You will not receive your brushes until after that date. However, you can get some amazing deals on brushes.
Take a look at the brushes here.
OMG! Those are great prices. Which brushes, if any, are you getting Phyrra? What do you think about flat top buffers?
Ok I have 2 of the angled fiber optic synthetic and I love that one. I recommend this, especially for Rocks! sonic blushes.
I don't find the flat top kabukis easy to use. I've tried using them and I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't get my foundations to apply evenly with them. I seem to get a very very thin coat of foundation on when I use them.
I'm looking at getting 2 contour blender, 2 blush brush, 2 angled liner and 2 eye shadow brushes.
You have to buy 2 of each brush type that you want to buy to get the discount.
Thanks for your brush tips. Actually, I don't think you have to buy 2 to get the pre-buy discount. I just added a single brush to my cart and went to check out and it was at the discounted price. I think if you order 2-5 brushes, you get an additional 10% off though.
Hi Robyn,I just forwarded you the email that Lumiere sent out a few hours ago. I got the impression from the email that you had to buy 2 of each brush. Now, I spent all day walking at Epcot, so I might have read it incorrectly
What are you looking at picking up?
You're right, the email was clear that it's 2 brushes, but the site doesn't make a reference to 2 brushes that I saw. I'm going to try just getting one and see what happens. I don't mind getting 2 though since they're at a great discount.
I re-checked the site and still found no mention of a 2 brush purchase requirement. In fact, I copied this text from their rules page, where it states specifically that there are NO minimums. I wonder if they were getting so many orders, they decided to require 2 of each brush so they could make more money.
"Your orders will be processed and shipped through us (Lumiere Mineral Cosmetics); after we receive the shipment. This is available for serious buyers only, without the obligation of minimums, BUT your order is customized for you and considered a non-returnable CUSTOM ORDER at deeply discounted prices."
After much thought, I've actually decided NOT to order any brushes. I don't like the fact that the images posted might not match the brush I actually get.
For example, some of their images make the product appear to be a fiber optic brush but in fact they are regular synthetic bristle brushes. I realize that the description states exactly where you're getting but I personally like to see the *actual* product. I was going to purchase some of the duo fiber brushes (can you ever have too many of these?) but I just purchased one from Target for just a few dollars (and no waiting) that I'm really satisfied with, so I think I'm good.
I'm still glad you posted about the sale. I always love it when you post sales and coupon codes because more often than not, I haven't heard of it until reading your blog.
Hi Robyn,Last time I ordered, I ordered the dual fiber angled blush brushes (2) and really loved them.
I'm kind of torn and haven't ordered yet, because I think I'm in agreement with you, if I don't know what it's going to look like I'm not sure if I can tell how it will work. Like, I was looking at the eye shadow brushes and the kabuki eye shadow brush and just not sure how that works at all.
Glad you do like the sales
