Neutral Look Blending Tutorial with Silk Naturals

I wanted to do a blending tutorial for my friends over at Painted-Ladies.com, so this is posted at their blog as well as here.

You’ll want a mid-tone taupe shade, a slightly deeper brown/purple/taupe shade, and a highlight shade that coordinates with the colors.

The colors I used were Silk Naturals Boom, Idolize and Lurid.

Shade Descriptions:
Boom – MAC Shroom clone, warm oyster
Idolize – MAC Idol Eyes clone, silvered violet  with gold
Lurid – MAC Moth Brown clone, plum taupe velvet  matte

Eyes:

Face:

Cheeks:

Lips:

Note: These are not affiliate links. These are just so that if you want to purchase any of the items used, they’re easy for you to find.

Please feel free to comment here or at Painted-Ladies.com. We’d love to hear what you think!

I love how you're putting links to product in your posts now, makes it quite useful for finding the colors you use. :)

Also, that's a nice neutral look on you. Simple, while still looking like it fits your personality, with all that lovely shimmer. I've actually been on a bit of a neutral eye kick lately (Lord only knows why, since I normally hate wearing them).

    Your nails look great!
OK now I need a tutorial on a cut crease, because I suck and you are awesome!

    Hi Lindsey,
I'll try to start doing that more often! I didn't know if it would be of interest to anyone, and Taryn from Painted-Ladies suggested it. Thank you ;)

    Hi Evil angel,
    Thank you!
I will do my best :>

Very good blending, and Phaedra is so adorable in the video! I don't like MAC pressed shadows, simply because it's so hard to get any color payoff with them. It's nice to know that there are clones out there, that will give a decent color payoff.

    Hi Shaimaa,
    Thank you!

    Hi Starlight,
    Aww, thanks :)
I've found a lot of MAC shadows are good, but minerals seem to be better.

Just wanted to chime in and say thank you for this awesome tute! I watched it yesterday, and I swear my blending last night was soooo much better than it's been, and I pranced around afterward all full of myself and my newfound blending skills. :)
