Blue Valentine Look

Since I did a Green Look for Valentine’s Day last year (and wow you can see really how much my blending and application has improved), I wanted to do a Blue Look this year. This look was inspired by the Bright Cat Eye look by Zoffee.

Shade Descriptions:
Sonic – MAC Vanilla clone, light golden copper. (vegan)
Blizzard – deepest navy with teal and silver iridescent sparkle
Planetearth – subtly shimmering intense primary blue with pink sparkles.
Take Me – iridescent light reflective magenta & aqua
Coraline’s Kiss – A luscious, stunning coral with a pink highlight (vegan)
Heliconia – peachy pink infused with coral iridescence
Morpho – golden iridescent pink

Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy – lid, extended out and crease
Silk Naturals Sonic – from eyebrows to upper crease
Aromaleigh PlanetEarth – crease, blended upwards
Meow Blizzard – on lid, extended out, lower lash line, inner corners of eye, extended out
I Touch Roses Take Me – from crease to eyebrows, lightly
Gel Eyeliner in Raven – lightly along upper lash line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero – lower water line
Mod 305 Lashes
Urban Decay Lingerie for Lashes
Covergirl LashBlast Luxe in Black Platinum
Urban Decay Brow Beater in Brunette Bombshell

Cheeks:
Meow blush in Heliconia
Meow Skinny Dipper in Medium Sphynx – to contour
Meow Morpho – to highlight

Face:
Fyrinnae Velvet-Gel Silica Primer
Aromaleigh Ultra Resolution Finishing Powder in clear

Lips:
Aromaleigh Minty Cocoa Chip Lipbalm
Covergirl Lipliner in Blush
Morgana Lipstick in Coraline’s Kiss

I really like how the teal flecks in Blizzard coordinate with PlanetEarth. I had debated doing my lid shade with a nearly matte dark navy blue but I do like how this turned out. I feel like Brunette Bombshell Brow Beater pencil by UD wasn’t dark enough. I think Coraline’s Kiss looks lovely. How do you like this blue look?

I’m a bit baffled by how to use my UD Big Buddha brush. I tried to use it to put on my foundation but it didn’t look right, so I switched to my ecoTools brush and put the foundation on. After I put on my blush, contour and highlighter, I ended up using it with my finishing powder.

I will most likely do some more Valentine’s Day looks, because I like the holiday. Until then, you can check out some of my other looks from last year. Again, you can really see how far I’ve come with my blending and application! Yay for practice :)

Pink & Orange Look – Peek-A-Boo, Hot Stuff, LookingForAKiss, Heart & Soul, Pillowtalk

Chocolate Look – Nijiro, Snow Leopard & Feline Familiars

Strawberry Look – Jezebel, Strawberry, Supernova, Antique Lace

Pink & Teal Look – First Kiss, Sea of love, Wine & Dine, Heart & Soul, Pillowtalk

Beautiful as always. I always like how you are able to pull off bright colors on your eyes and it's never overwhelming. That's a lovely lippie too.

Iii Looove itt! I am a big fan of orangey coral lips and blue eyeshadow!

Gorgeous! I really love this look. It's very sexy but you still manage to keep it edgy.

You're absolutely right about the improved blending and application. You can really see the difference between those Valentine looks but still you've always had beautiful color combinations. Btw, I can't open these three links: Chocolate Look, Strawberry Look and Pink & Teal Look.

    Hi Catalina,
    Thank you :)

    Hi MissTat,
I love orange or coral lips with Blue as well, always fun.

    Hi Keijukainen,
Thanks for letting me know about the links, they're fixed now.

    Glad you like it :)

This looks beautiful! I love this holiday too :)
I hope you get the hang of that huge brush!! haha That thing is gigantic! Looks so soft and lovely.

About the brush, I heard it's supposed to be used for the neck/decollete/body for a light dusting of color or contouring or whatevs. Apparently it's not very firm, and that's why.

I've been wanting to order from Morgana Minerals. Coraline's Kiss looks lovely on you, though I'm pretty yellow so I bet it'll suck on me. I'll probably try it anyway :p And I love dark lids fading to bright colors; it's so awesome and dramatic. Love the bright blue <3

It's a great look on you, but I have to day, my favorite part of it is that lipstick! You look great in that coral/orangish color.

    Hi Nea,
    Thank you :>

    Hi Lillypug,
No kidding! It's very soft and very pretty. I think it's good for finishing powders.

    Hi Teaspoon,
Thank you so much for the tip with the brush!
Coraline's kiss has a pink shine to it, so it might work for you ;)

    Hi Jessica,
    Thank you!

    Hi Thia,
Me as well. I hope you enjoy it!

    Hi Lindsey,
Thanks! I really want to get some more orange lipstick. I have an orange from MAC in Slimshine (Ardor), but it's not as bright as I'd like.

    Hi Dee,
Thank you! I thought it was really cool.

Absolutely lovely! I really like the shape of the eye.

And the Big Buddha brush scares me. It's friggin' hyooge.

I love the shape of the wing on the outer edge – it looks especially awesome with those lashes :)

I'd have no idea how to use the Big Buddha brush, except for dusting bronzer on my chest area because its much paler than my face LOL

  16. BLIX January 29, 2010 at 10:27 am #

Oooh! Pretty! Very well done and all the colours look great together. The falsies perfectly finish this look.

    Hi Katherine,
    Thanks :)
And lol, yes it is huge!

    Hi Silhouette,
Yay, glad you like it with the lashes.

    Hi Blix,
Thank you, I was really happy with how it turned out.
