So recently when I ordered from Sephora, I chose a sample of Kim Kardashian’s perfume for one of my free samples. I finally had a chance to wear it.

It’s supposed to have notes of:
Mandarin, Honey Suckle, Orange Blossom, Pink Jasmine, Tuberose, Sensual Spice, Lush Gardenia, Jacaranda Wood, Tonka Bean, Vanilla Orchid, Sexy Musk, Creamy Sandalwood.
The first smell of it on my skin was overwhelming. There were so many floral scents I couldn’t tell them apart.
After it had been on my skin for a while, it was still an overwhelming cacophony of scents.
This was not something I enjoyed, and Dave asked me what the heck I was wearing, and to not wear it again.
A few hours later it had died down and I think all I could smell was the vanilla orchid, and that smelled nice.
Surprisingly, just a little squirt on my wrist lasted very strongly for several hours.
While it was interesting to try this, I would not buy it. It’s definitely not my cup o’ tea.

Hello Cotton
I can never wear any scents with tuberose. It is just way too strong. Shame, cause some of the other notes seem really nice. I have a feeling my DH would have the same reaction!
Hi Jeweled Thumb,
I'm not sure what note (or notes) it is that is overpowering but wow, it was just too intense. I'll have to try and smell tuberose on its own to see if that's one of the overwhelming ones for me.
I'm not sure I would like that at all. I don't mind a couple of flowers, but that reads like flower overkill. Funeral parlor…
Then again I like the more green-y rain-y ozone-y sweet candy smells. If I could find one with all 3 I'd be set for life
Hi Axs,
Trust me, I don't like it
I think your description of 'flower overkill' is exactly right.
Thank you for this fragrance review! I believe I was the one who originally requested it.
I appreciate how you described it as a cacophony, thus communicating that it smells like a discordant mixture rather than a harmonious blend.
If you'd like to try tuberose on its own, Robert Piguet's Fracas is the icon to which all other tuberoses are compared.
Hi Justine,
You're welcome
Sorry that it was more of a cacophony than a harmony. I'll go see if I can smell Fracas.
I'm actually a huge fan of white florals, but they really do need skill of the part of the perfumer in order to really work and not smother the wearer to death. I don't know who made this one, but I'm honestly quite leery if it has Kim Kardashian's name attached to it. I plan on placing an order at Sephora really soon though; maybe they still have some for free samples. If they do, I'll be sure to tell you if I get the same reaction!
I second the Fracas recommendation, btw. It's a classic; very tuberose-y, and a VERY polarizing scent. You'll probably either love it or hate it. I fall into the "love it" camp, but I have to be in the right mood to wear it. When I feel energetic/hyper I wear it wonderfully, but if I'm the slightest bit tired…UGH, it's nauseating! They should have a bottle somewhere in the Sephora store though, take a whiff and let me know how you feel about it!
Agreed on the Fracas recommendation, but wear it around the house first, because the sillage is STRONG. It's one of those scents that, even if you love it, you dread meeting in an elevator.
(And I do love it. It smells so seductive to me, like flowers and flushed, warm, post-sex skin.)
Hi Bloated Ewe,
I figured getting the KK perfume as a free sample would be ok. I tend to pick up perfumes to sample them via sephora anyways. I'll definitely go and check out Fracas.
Hi Amanda,
Hehe, thanks for the advice! It sounds like a divine scent for you.
Oh boo, I'm bummed that it seems to smell so horrible. I kinda love Kim Kardashian
Though I probably would've have bought this anyway, I'm more for fruity scents.
Hi Silhouette,
Definitely go smell it for yourself. It was just too overpowering for me until several hours later when I could only smell the base notes.
I tend to like Amber and Vanilla, a bit of sandalwood, Cherry, blackberries, frangipani, a bit of musk, water lily, plum, coconut (but not suntan lotion type), pineapple, etc.
