I purchased this cleanser from mark on January 1st of this year and received it on January 8, which is when I first used it
The cleanser claims:
If you’re a total clean freak then try this super-fresh, soap-free cleanser blended with sugar maple and black willow bark. It goes right to work to banish dirt, oil and other cloggers. Skin feels fresh, fabulous and ready to face the world.
Read on to see how it worked for me!
It’s $8.00 for 6.7 fl. oz.
It’s supposed to be oil-free, non-comedogenic and fragrance-free.
It comes in an easy to dispense container.
My skin normally loves gels. This is a non-soapy cleanser. I loved the texture of the cleanser. It worked really well with my Clarisonic Mia, as well as on its own. I felt like it cleansed my face without drying it out.
Unfortunately, for whatever reason, my sensitive skin keeps breaking out whenever I use it. I would use it, start to get some blemishes, use it for a few more days, still have blemishes and see more coming. So then I’d stop using it and switch to using my Camellia Rose Calming Cleanser and my skin would settle back down. So then I’d try the Gel cleanser again, and I would start to break out again, I’d keep at it, see it getting worse, stop using the cleanser, etc. I’ve basically been doing this the entire month of January.
So while I’d love to use this product because it gives a really good clean feeling to my face without drying me out, it just doesn’t agree with my skin. It may be great for people who don’t have sensitive skin like I do. I’m really disappointed that I can’t use it, because I’ve always heard that willow bark is great for the skin.
I wouldn’t purchase this again, unfortunately, because it caused me to break out.

Hello Cotton
From what I've heard, I've understood that acetylsalicylic acid (the substance in willow bark and aspirin) tends to break out sensitive skin even though it's great for acne. So maybe that's it.
Ahh. If it has any variant on salicylic acid, yeah, bad news for sensitive skin. However, it probably means this would be a really good cleanser for people with oily or acne-prone skin.
Hi Nekku & Witchwords,
Ahh! I had no idea! Thank you so much for telling me that! I know that usually things with salyic acid tends to make my skin burn in an uncomfortable way, but this cleaner didn't burn or anything. Truly I like the way it felt and cleansed my skin. That's why I was sad that I kept breaking out >.<
Oh poo
I've personally never found a cleanser that's really worked for me (beyond making my face feel clean), because they seem to irritate the parts of my face that are clear, and then do nothing for my breakout areas D:
Hi Silhouette,
The cleansers I really like are:
1. Camellia Rose Calming Cleanser (this is like Lush's Angels on Bare Skin, only no stinky lavender)
2. Geografx Fresh Lemon Cleansing Mousse
