Blue Sugar Look

I wanted to try a look with the blue shades from Sugarpill today. Here’s what I came up with. I also included a ‘how to.’

Shade Descriptions:
Starling – vibrant metallic turquoise with intense sheen
Magpie – dramatic silky black with metallic blue sheen and turquoise sparkles
AfterParty – bright turquoise with a semi-pearly sheen
Take Me – iridescent light reflective magenta & aqua
Glitterboi – the most perplexing. In the jar a deep midnight blue, on skin it’s a deep blue with purple sparkles and a very strong green sheen. Closer to light, morphs to a dark, vibrant blue-based purple. Metallic & sparkly.

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden – all around eye area and under eyes
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy – on lid, crease and lower browbone
Sugarpill Starling – on lid
Sugarpill Magpie – outer vee and lower crease
Sugarpill AfterParty – upper crease
I Touch Roses Take Me – inner v, inner lower lash line and on browbone to highlight
Fyrinnae Glitterboi – lower lash line
Gel Eyeliner in Raven – upper lash line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Yeyo – lower water line
Urban Decay Lingerie for Lashes primer
L’Oreal Collagen mascara
Lorac Brow pencil in Dark Brown

Cheeks:
Medusa blush in Jezebel

Face:
Meow Pampered Puss foundation in Inquisitive Sphynx
Meow Skinny Dipper in Medium Sphynx – to contour

Lips:
Aromaleigh lipbalm in Yuzu
Jordana lipliner in Baby Dreams
Fyrinnae Lip Lustre in Lollipop-pop

And yes, I had some natural light this morning. So there’s your natural light picture, no flash.

1. Apply Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden to your eye area and under eye area.

2. Apply Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy to the lid, crease and lower browbone.

3. Apply Starling to the lid. I used Medusa’s fluff shadow brush to do this.

4. Apply Magpie to the outer vee and lower crease. I used Fyrinnae’s angled eyeliner brush for this.

5. Apply AfterParty to the upper crease. I used Aromaleigh’s pointed fiber optic brush to do this.

6. Apply Take Me to the inner v and inner lower lash line. I used Medusa’s smudge brush for this.

7. Blend the crease. I used my MAC blending brush for this. Then I also used my ecoTools blending brush.

8. Apply Take Me to the browbone and blend it downward. I used my ecoTools highlighter brush for this.

9. Apply Glitterboi to the lower lash line. I used the ecoTools smudge brush for this.

10. Apply Raven gel eyeliner to upper lash line. I used the Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush.

11. Apply Urban Decay eyeliner in Yeyo to the lower water line.

12. Apply Urban Decay Lingerie for Lashes Primer to the upper lashes.

13. Apply L’Oreal Collagen Mascara to the upper lashes.

14. Apply Lorac brow pencil in Dark Brown to shape brows.

OOOH I LOVE THIS!!!!! Beautiful!!!! LOL Phaedra looks like she's going “wha??? Whatre u doing mama??? Can I get in the picture too???”

    • @WitchWords

What gorgeous blues! I always love blue looks, since I'm a fan of the cool color-family (blues, greens, purples). And another step-by-step, ftw! Is it just me, or did you bring the outer vee a bit higher than usual? It looks so dramatic – and beautiful.

    • dreadreabobea

Wow, so vibrant! How'd you manage to get the L'oreal collagen mascara to behave? I kept trying, and kept failing to get it to do anything but clump. It was beyond spider legs…it was more like a spider with cellulite, or something.

    • @WitchWords

By the by, is anyone able to get Fyrinnae's website to load? I can't. It loads a black screen and nothing else, and has been doing that for a few days. (I wanted to check out Lollipop-pop, because it looks awesome with this look, and I'm a lip-product-hound.) Is it just me?

    • dreadreabobea

It won't load for me either. Lollipop-pop is definitely a great color. It's happiness in a tube. Fingers crossed the site's back up soon!

    • Phyrra

Thank you :) And yes, she wanted to be in the pic :)

    • Phyrra

I did the outer v a bit higher and a bit more defined :) Glad you like it!

    • Phyrra

I think it looks a bit clumpy on me, to be honest. But I wanna finish the tube up if I can manage. I really prefer the Covergirl LashBlast Luxe. I did use the eye shadow primer first, so I actually think that helped.

    • Phyrra

It wasn't working for me earlier.

    • @WitchWords

So I figured out the issue, at least for me. Seems Fyrinnae's site has issues with my browser cookies, because once I cleared my cache, it loads fine. I'm running Firefox, latest version, on Vista. So if you're having problems, try clearing cookies/cache, and see if you can load it then.

    • Mika_chan

Haha I'm looking at Phaedra posing behind you!

    • Phyrra

Yeah, I normally have to clear cache with them

    • PhantomGoddess

Where can I get Glitterboi? I can't find it on the Sugarpill website. I love this site!!

    • pwrlftrchick

This look is breathtakingly gorgeous on you! goodness girl you are beautiful!

    • Krista

      Very pretty!!!

    • Phyrra

Glitterboi is a Fyrinnae shade. It will be available soon. This is a mostly Sugarpill look, but not all Sugarpill.

    • Phyrra

Thank you! You make me blush!

    • PhantomGoddess

      Thanks for letting me know!!!

    • Phyrra

      No problem :)

    • SilhouetteScreams

I'm so jealous that you can wear blues and not look like a prostitute :P

    • Phyrra

ROFL! Try using a pop of blue along your lower lash line and see how you feel about it. Sometimes color placement is everything with an accent :) I really love bright aquas with my eyes, which is what got me to try blues.
