Tuesday All Grown Up

I had to get up early today to take Dave to have oral surgery done. I wanted to do a ‘grown up’ look, so this is what I put together. I really love UD’s Sellout. I think of that color as an interview shadow color. I think using the plum shade mixed with bronze in my crease gives me a more natural look without being horribly muddy and blah. I’m really starting to love Nyx’s lipliner in Natural. That shade works really well on my lips, especially with a clear gloss. I’d love to hear what you think of this ‘grown up’ look.

Shade Descriptions:
Sellout – pink champagne shimmer
Natural Beauty – fleshy bronzed taupe with hints of honey shimmer
Deep Desire – blackened plum, velvet texture with gentle shimmer
Pulse – sheer pearl white with shy pink shimmer
Inner Glow – fleshy beige with shimmer
Crinoline – MAC Pettiecoat clone, peachy red glow

Urban Decay Sellout – all over eye area
bronze – crease
purple – to darken crease and lower lash line
iridescent white – under eyebrows
Maybelline Gel Eyeliner in Eggplant – upper lash line
Covergirl LashBlast Luxe Mascara in Black Platinum
Urban Decay Brow Pencil in Brunette Bombshell

beige blush
Silk Naturals Glow in Crinoline

Meow Pampered Puss foundation in Inquisitive Sphynx

Aromaleigh Lipbalm in Yuzu
Nyx Lipliner in Natural – lined and filled in
Soap n’ Glory Sexy Motherpucker gloss in Clear

I also purchased Medusa’s Makeup’s new 6 brush set. Their brushes are vegan, with taklon bristles, and the handles are hot pink. I need more hot pink in my life. I also picked up one of their blushes to try, and their glitter fix. The brushes are originally $35 for 6, but I got $10 off, so got them for $25 for 6, which isn’t too bad a deal.

You even rock neutral looks!!! You are just awesome. =p

I am extremely amused at the idea of wearing "Sellout" to an interview.

Oh, and your shadow looks awesome as always!

Hope everything went well with Dave's surgery.

Very pretty look! You look so sophisticated. :) I love the color of that lip pencil, I'm lemming one now. This look is definitely interview-appropriate but NOT stuffy! I've always told my friends that "grown up" does not have to equal "bland," and you just proved my point beautifully!

That's marvelous for a "grown up" look. It still lets your personality shine through, and of course, your mad skillz.

Lovely grown up look Phyrra! I'm curious about those brushes, I'll have to check them out.

      Hi Nymphette,
Thanks! It's hard for me to do neutral looks. I can't really wear brown neutrals because they turn muddy on me.
      But bronze + purple = win :)

      Hi Shannon,
      Hehe, I love it!
      Thank you ;)

      Hi Ella,
      It did!
I'm SO Glad I got the lip pencil, I tried it not knowing if I'd like it and when it first arrived I thought it was too dark, but I think it works pretty well. Thank you so much :)

      Hi Painted Moogle,
      Thanks so much!

      Hi Thia,
Definitely check out my review, I like them :)

Gorgeous, I love it! The crease color is amazing, I can't wait to get my samples XD

The lips are my favourite part of this, that lipliner really suits you.

The Medusa eyeliner brush looks awesome, and I can't wait to hear how the Glitter Fix is.

      Love this look on you!

I love your cheekbones, you've got some sexy angles, baby! This look is so sophisticated but still sexy, not boring at all.

I hope Dave is doing fine, I'm sending some healing vibes!

That is very pretty. I often have to do neutral looks for meetings. It can be quite a challenge!

      Those brushes are gorgeous. WANTS!

      Hi Lisa Kate,
Thanks so much! I can't wait to hear what you think of the Stardust colors.

      Hi Silhouette,
Thank you! And to think, I just bought it on a lark, not even sure if I'd like it. When I first swatched it I didn't think I'd like it.
The eyeliner brush is nice, but I think I still prefer the Sonia Kashuk or Fyrinnae bent eyeliner brushes.

      Hi Marcey,
      Thank you ;)

      Hi Saila,
      Thanks babe!!!
Now if I could just learn to contour more, or lose more weight, they'd be more defined.
He's doing better, but in a lot of pain.

      Hi Pixie,
Yes I can imagine! I thankfully don't have to do that very often :)
The brushes are a good buy, so definitely go check them out!

      Hi Dominique,
      Thank you!

I love this look, Pyhrra. I enjoy your colorful looks and can live vacariously through you since I can only do neutral looks for work. This color combo is one of the ones that I can "copy". Very nice!

    • http://www.blogger.com/profile/02168093054712781267 Phyrra

      Aww Junerose,
      Thank you! That's so sweet!

I love the Jezebel colour swatch on Medusa's website but I haven't tried it myself yet. I can't wait to see your swatches of it.

    • http://www.blogger.com/profile/02168093054712781267 Phyrra

      Hi Bella :)
I'll try to get a swatch of Jezebel for you by itself. I've worn it twice and really like it.
