Concrete Minerals – A Review

So now that I’ve played with most of my Concrete Minerals colors I can tell you a bit about them.

I purchased the following colors:
Kismet, Juvenile, Zealous, Prude, Seance, Hearts, Detox, Souljourner, Croma, Ether
I received Mad Hatter & Bang-Up for free.

This is Juvenile, Zealous and Prude.

This is Detox.

This is Croma, Kismet, Seance and Prude.

Prude is a perfect highlighter shade for me! It’s great for on the browbone or inner v area of the eye. It’s a pale shimmery pink shade.
Juvenile and Zealous are quite bright, and I really love them. My only disappointment with Juvenile is the same disappointment that I had with Croma, I couldn’t see the turquoise/aqua sparkle in either. Seance is such a drop dead gorgeous purple it looks PERFECT in the crease. I’m not sure I have another purple that looks exactly like this one in my collection.

The shadows are nicely pigmented, apply easily and blend easily. The color that you see in the swatch and in the bag seems to be very much what shows up on my skin, too. There are about 30 shades to choose from currently, so while Concrete doesn’t have the color selection of some of the larger companies, the colors they have are all very nice.

Pricing
The shadows are $5.99 each, but you can purchase 2 samples for $1.99 or try 5 samples for $4.99. You also can buy 1 get 1 free of the full size if you become a fan on Facebook.

Customer Service
So far, I’ve had great customer service from Concrete. I’ve been able to give the owner feedback on some of the shades I’ve tried, and my thoughts on them, and she’s been taking that feedback into consideration for reformulation of the shades.

Would I buy from Concrete again?
Yes! I’ve now purchased twice from Concrete and I will definitely buy from again. I want to pick up full sizes of Prude, Detox and Seance.

Have you tried Concrete Minerals? What did you think? What shades did you like?

I'm confused……one shadow is $5.99, but two are $1.99? Why would anyone ever buy one?

Oops! I fixed that. It's $5.99 for a full size, but samples are $1.99 and $4.99.

The colors are pretty! Thanks for sharing. It's the first time I've heard of Concrete. I'm heading over to the site to have a look!

I haven't purchase from concrete before but I can see myself doing a purchase as soon :) I'm thinking of doing the 10 colours for $39.99 and see if my sister wants to join in on that (she's is forever receiving free eyeshadows from me). I'm thinking along the lines of detox, unity (yum purple) and kismet – haven't decided on anything else yet. thanks Phyrra for the review

I really love Smut really really nice. I also got a trial of her primer I can't wait to try. I am curious if other people who have bought from her the full size. Mine were not “to the top” as some other sellers quote and when queried the seller she says everything is measured the same. So not sure if its just not supposed to be stuffed to the brim with shadow and a bit of settling.

Ah! Ok now I understand :)

I'm such a dork! I'm glad you caught that so I could clarify.

I hope you see some colors you like :)

    The name makes me giggle.

Apparently that would be a really good deal! I think the colors come in 10 gram jars as opposed to the industry standard of 5 gram jars, so you'd really get a lot to share.

Sometimes jars 'fluff up' and othertimes they 'settle down,' Usually though, you can contact a seller and they'll take care of it. One time I ordered from Spell cosmetics and all my jars but 1 were filled to the brim, the other was half full. So I contacted Spell and they sent me a replacement and apology, which was really nice.

I havent ordered from them yet, but I think I want to try their eye primer :)

I'll be trying it more this week, so hopefully I can give you a better idea of how it works on my super oily lids. They're so finicky.

Their primer is so awesome. I am in love, and just bought a full size.

Awesome! Yeah mine are very temperamental, some days that arent even hot (and therefore Im not sweating much) require 2 layers of UDPP, but then hot days sometimes only require 1!

  17. Phyrra March 23, 2010 at 1:48 am #

I feel you on the tempermental eyes! Such a pain!

    Yay! That's cool!
