Glamour Doll Eyes – A Review

Glamour Doll Eyes is a company started in 2008 ran by Vee and it has changed rapidly since it opened!

Eye Shadows
The eye shadows, which are a mix of custom blends and unblended, have improved dramatically in quality as Vee’s skills as a mineral makeup creator have improved. Vee has reworked her mattes several times to improve the application and blendability of the shadows, and she’s also worked at creating some very unique and lovely colors, such as Oddity, Disco White, Ladies Night and Phyrra.

Pricing:
$1.50 – sample baggie .5g
$2.50 – sample jar 1g
$6 – full size jar with or without sifter 1.5 to 2.5g

Additionally if you purchase a sample, you get to take the cost of the sample out of the full price of the jar, which is really nice. So if you buy a sample for $2.50, and choose to buy a full size at $6, you’ll only end up paying $3.50. You do have to email Vee to get that price deduction. I know of no other mineral makeup company that does this, so it’s pretty cool.

If you only order samples, shipping is free.

Unblended shades are marked with a * next to the name. What unblended means is that the minerals are taken in their truest form and only has powders added to it to help improve slip, adhesion, blendability and longevity. These shades are offered by customer request, and I particularly like that Vee has annotated which shades are unblended, so that people can tell if they might have another color similar to it in their collection.

Here are some looks that I’ve done with Glamour Doll Eyes

Phyrra (the pink shade), Ladies Night and Disco White
Phyrra is a shade that’s not yet available, but it’s a pink with blue reflect.

Phyrra, Oddity, Glam Girl, Disco White

Black Ice, Skin Like a Killer

Masquerade

Lime Light Pie, Skinny Jeans, Cashed Out!

Glam Girl, Galaxy

Disco White, Strawberry Cupcake, Glam Girl

Blueberry Lush, Disco White, Dusk and Lime Light Pie

The Twilight Shadow Collection Swatches

Other Shadow Swatches

Glamour Doll Eyes does offer several cute premade collections here.
My favorites are, of course, Phyrra’s Picks, Jacqueline, and Geeky But Glam.

One of the best things about GDE is that Vee is constantly looking for feedback on her products and website. She then takes the feedback into consideration to improve her products and her site.

Would I buy from Glamour Doll Eyes again?
Yes! I’ve always received good customer service from Vee. She answers emails promptly, addresses concerns and is very proactive where her business is concerned. I’ve liked the products I’ve ordered, and when I’ve offered feedback on products that I’ve been sent to review, it’s been accepted gracefully.

Those colours are SO pretty I can forgive the Twilight (gag me) related names. Love what she did with announcing the unblended shadows, if only other companies would do that more!

I reckon I'll check out their unblended stuff, to see if there's any stuff that I liked the look of from TKB :)

Glam Girl and Strawberry Cupcake are my two favorite unblended shades. They're gorgeous, very pigmented colors.

Yep :) Vee is fantastic! I think the Twi shadows are pretty, regardless of what inspired them :)

I got a sample bag from My Pretty Pink Box for their Black Friday sale. Definitely have enjoyed the shadows I got. The Twi shadows are really nice colors though, despite being Twilight related.

I really like Strawberry Cupcake, your shade Phyrra (even though it's not available yet), Mood Swing, basically any of those pinks and purples you've got up there, lol.

I took following pigments: dear mom, premonition, royal assassin, big brother, oddity and just bitten :)
