Saturday Swatches

So today I received my Morgana Minerals vegan lipstick that I purchased, Azalea Blue. It’s gorgeous!

I decided to swatch it with my other bright pinks for some hot pink goodness!
I have:
Urban Decay Trainwreck – fuschia
Urban Decay Jilted – hot pink
Morgana Azalea – hot pink
Morgana Azalea Blue – hot pink with bright blue reflect
MAC Show Orchid – vivid hot pink with a fuschia purple sheen

Do you love the hot pink lippies? I know I do!

I also picked up some stuff when I was out at Target today.

I picked up Boots No. 7 Peach Silk, which is a cream blush.
I also picked up L’oreal Double Extend Blackest Black Mascara, and Milani liquid eyeliner in blue Infinite.

I know I have several great peach blush shades, but I think I need to find a bright iridescent orange/peach shade, something that’s comparable to MAC’s Full Fuschia (bright iridescent fuchsia)

The  peachy blushes I have are:
Aromaleigh Epitome – luschious coral/peach
Aromaleigh Glazed – medium-toned peach/pink with subtle sheen
Aromaleigh Rococo – a clear sweet nectar hued rouge
Fyrinnae Enchant – soft peach with a touch of pink shimmer
Hi-Fi Amore – bright coral with golden flecks
Meow Heliconia – peachy pink infused with coral iridescence
Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach – soft peach
Purely Coral – peach with pink undertones and shimmers
Hard Candy Honeymoon – light frosted peach

I’ve been looking at:
Makeup Forever Sculpting Blush #22 – Iridescent Orange Coral
MAC Style – coral peach with gold pearl
MAC Optimistic Orange – bright coral
MAC Ripe Peach Ombre – sold out

Any suggestions for a bright iridescent orange or orange/coral blush?
Do you think the MUFE #22 might work?
What’s your favorite bright orange or coral blush?

=O I got a message for the lipsticks but I didn't have the money to buy any of the pre-released batch…Ugh I should have just spent the ten bucks. I was expecting something completely different though. Thaty color is gorgeous!! Now I can't wait until she releases it…I'll be on it like white on rice!

All those pinks are gorgeous! I used to wear hot pink lipstick all the time – your pictures make me want to pick up a tube of Azalea. I really like Loreal Double Extend mascara. It makes my lashes look thick and long, lasts all day without causing raccoon eyes, and washes off easily with just soap and water. If you've never used it before, just be aware that when you wash it off, the little “tubes” come off and it looks like your lashes are coming out. It kind of freaked me out the first time.

I went to every MAC store in my area looking for that stupid blush! :( I want it badly, but I don't think badly enough to pay $60 on ebay. sigh.

I have that Milani eyeliner, and also in purple. I have only tried 2 other liquid liners, but I thought these were the hardest to apply. NYX is a little better, and Urban Decay is amazing. I guess I was so spoiled by how easy the UD liner is to apply, I assumed all cheaper brands would be like that. I suck at liquid liner >_<

Azalea blue looks gorgeous:D you can check out silk naturals for a coral blush;)

  6. Mika_chan March 21, 2010 at 10:21 am #

Optimistic Orange is so great. It's total love for me, and I think it would look awesome on you. Also, thanks for the list of peachy blushes :)

Oh and DUH, thanks for the swatches! I love Azalea Blue! Although I'm wondering….it looks like an NYC lipstick I picked up……..

  8. Silhouettex March 21, 2010 at 10:47 am #

Oh wow, it's interesting to see that Azalea Blue is actually much closer to Jilted than Show Orchid. Regardless, I want it :D I haz no blush recommendations :(

Azalea blue is GORGEOUS….can't wait to be able to purchase one of my own! As for the coral blush, I'm not good with corals at all, so I don't have any suggestions there…..

I love hot pink lippies, that post was really helpful to me; you've created a few lemmings there!

Oh wow, i love love love hot pinks. I just bought Azalea and can't wait for Azalea blue to come out!

I just placed my first order with Morgana and picked up lipstick in Very Cherry and samples in Blood, Margarita and a few shadow swatches. She has excellent customer service and was lightning fast on the e-mail. I'm thrilled with my experience thus far. I'm looking for a red in the vein of Nfu-Ohs polish 151, so a half-dried rich blood red look. I'm having a hard time finding just a rich red that doesn't lean too far orange or too far burgundy, or one that isn't too bright. Very Cherry is one of the closest ones I've found so far.

I think the color is fabulous! I can't wait to wear it.

  14. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 12:28 am #

Miko Chan had recommended it, so I figured I'd pick it up to try. Thanks for the warning :) I'm a bit worried that I won't be able to apply it properly.

  15. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 12:29 am #

Yeah, I don't think paying $60 would be a good price. I will be playing with some of my peach blushes tomorrow, shopping my stash so to speak, to see if I can get the look I want.

  16. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 12:30 am #

I have the MAC Liquidlast liners in Point Black, Greenplay, Ink and Aqualine, and they're fabulous. I haven't tried this one yet, but I was curious because I'd seen several good reviews about it. I've not tried Nyx or UD for liquids. The best trick for liquid liner is use your own bent eyeliner brush and not the attached brush. The Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush is awesome, so it makes it a lot easier for me to apply liquid liner.

  17. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 12:31 am #

I'll check them out :) I have several Silk Naturals blushes I adore, such as Crinoline.

  18. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 12:31 am #

You're quite welcome! I think I'm gonna try wearing Rococo tomorrow to see if it's gonna be peachy enough for me this spring. I figure it won't hurt to stash shop my stuff :>

  19. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 12:32 am #

You just reminded me that I forgot to swatch the Black Label Nyx Hot Pink next to these. I may re-do these swatches just to give a better comparison.

  20. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 12:32 am #

I think that Azalea Blue is closer to Show Orchid, actually, not Jilted, but I'll be re-swatching these and trying to grab all my similar pinks.

  21. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 12:33 am #

Yeah it's hard. I basically want the equivalent of MAC Full Fuschia in an orange, so a bright iridescent orange or orange-coral-pink shade. I don't want a matte.

  22. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 12:34 am #

Hehe, awesome! I'll try to re-swatch all of my hot pinks soon, because I think that these swatches don't quite do them justice.

  23. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 12:34 am #

Yay! Glad you snagged it :)

  24. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 12:35 am #

Yep, Melissa is awesome! Very Cherry is gorgeous, I have a sample of it.

  25. nkaneko March 22, 2010 at 1:15 am #

If I can apply it properly then you should have no worries. :) I start by curling my lashes and then apply the lash primer on both eyes. It primes the lashes and gives a nice base for the actual mascara. I then apply the mascara – enough to cover the white primer. My lashes look long, full, and dark and I've never had a problem with transfer of color, even onto my rather oily lids. It also washes off super easily which for me is another big plus – no harsh make up removers or excess rubbing to get it off. I have read many reviews from people who did not like this “tube” mascara, but I adore it. I hope it works for you too.

  26. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 1:18 am #

I tried Blinc's tubing mascara and I couldn't get it to work for me at all, so that's why I wasn't sure about this. I really suck at applying mascara, which is why I use a primer all the time. I feel inept at moving it in a zig zag and turning as I go up the lashes, which is why I tend to rely on good formulas and brushes to help me out.

  27. nkaneko March 22, 2010 at 2:05 am #

I just hold the brush out flat (parallel to the ground) and “wipe” the brush up my lashes, sometimes “blinking onto the brush” while wiping. I don't know if this is proper application technique, but it works. :) In the past I have also used an eyelash comb to help even out clumped areas, but have not needed to do this with the Loreal formula.

What all have you tried from Milani? I've bought a few eyeshadows of theirs and I'm always disappointed. The first one I bought was very sparkly, but when I tried it, I found the sparkle was only on the surface of the shadow, and didn't actually translate into any sparkle when applied. Then I bought one of the Runway Eyes palettes and there were tons of problems…it is brittle, there is no color payoff, the shape of the cakes is too narrow and close together, so I couldn't get just one color on an applicator. I tried busting them up and crushing them to apply as loose, thinking I could get a heavier application and better color payoff, but it didn't help any. It made me so sad because the palette itself was gorgeous and now I have no idea what to do with it. http://www.milanicosmetics.com/p-21-runway-eyes-f… In Haute Couture. Any recommendations? Any insight into whether this is just my luck, or just their shadows or what?

  29. Phyrra March 22, 2010 at 2:48 pm #

I've not tried their eye shadows that I can remember. I've tried a gloss of theirs, as well as nail polish, and I haven't yet used this eyeliner. I tend to find that most drugstore eye shadows don't have good color payoff, which is why I stick to my mineral makeup.

  30. Phyrra March 23, 2010 at 1:49 am #

So I used it today, and took pictures of my eyes looking up, but I don't feel like it's as good as the Covergirl Lashblast Luxe. Maybe I'm wrong.

  31. nkaneko March 30, 2010 at 1:38 am #

How do these colors compare to Fyrinnae's Visual Kei, Lolipop, and Trickster? I am looking for a new pink shade and really like the look and feel (as well as the ingredients) of the Lip Lustres.

  32. Phyrra March 30, 2010 at 1:41 am #

If you're wanting a pink like these in the lip lustre formula, I would totally recommend Trickster or Visual Kei. They're both very bright, and Trickster has a blue reflect. It's gorgeous. Lollipop-Pop is a paler pink with blue reflect. They're 3 of my favorites ;)

  33. nkaneko March 30, 2010 at 3:06 am #

I went back through some of your Fyrinnae posts and think Visual Kei is just what I'm looking for. I love Devil Horns for a coral colored pink and it looks like Visual Kei is very similar without the coral. Thank you. :)

    No problem!
