I’ve wanted to do a comparison of the mascaras that I’d been wearing lately. My favorite of all of them is the Covergirl LashBlast Luxe Mascara in Black Platinum (though I want to try the LashBlast Fusion). Tell me, which of these do you think looks like it gives the longest, fullest lashes? I know not every mascara works for every person, since all of us have different lashes, but I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Covergirl LashBlast Luxe Mascara in Black Platinum (with L’Oreal Double Extend Primer)
L’Oreal Double Extend Mascara in Blackest Black (with L’Oreal Double Extend Primer)
L’Oreal Double Extend Primer + Hard Candy Curl Up & Die Black Out Mascara + Nyx Doll Eye Volumzing Mascara in Extreme Black
Nyx Doll Eye Volumizing Mascara in Extreme Black (with L’Oreal Double Extend Primer)
Bare Escentuals Magic Wand Brushless Mascara in Black (with Aromaleigh Lash Primer)
MAC Zoom Lash Mascara in Zoom Black (with Aromaleigh Lash Primer)
Hard Candy Curl Up & Die Mascara with Hard Candy Ginormous Lashes (wih L’Oreal Double Extend Primer)
Hard Candy Ginormous Lashes in Black Out (with L’Oreal Double Extend Primer)
I couldn’t find a recent picture of me with Benefit’s BadGal Lash mascara so I need to try and add that one in, as well as MAC’s Pro Lash. Though you can see just how weak MAC’s Zoom Lash was on me.
I think the Nyx Doll Eye Volumizing Mascara is pretty good on me, too. And the Bare Escentauls Magic Wand Brushless Mascara was a favorite of mine for quite a while.
Personally when it comes to mascara, I want volumizing, as I always use a primer for length. I also prefer a larger brush as it’s easier for me to coat my lashes with a larger brush.
Which do you think looks the best?
Which do you prefer?
If you use another brand of mascara, what is it?
Do you have a holy grail mascara?

Hello Cotton
The Nyx and Covergirl Lashblast look best on you to me. Didn't seem to clump, lots of volume. I stick with Maybeline's Great Lash BIG in the pink and green package. I haven't come across *any* other mascara that works better for me.
I love the length and separation in the first pic with the CG mascara but I think the NYX Doll Eye is great on you too! My HG mascaras are Diorshow (original formula) and Cover Girl Lashblast, with Lancome Hypnose coming a close third.
I'm gonna vote for the CG lashblast. It's my fav these days too (the non-waterproof one). And it's funny, I think the MAC does the least (and it's probably the most $$).
I'm between the CG, the Nyx Doll Eye, and the Hard Candy Ginormous Lashes. I'm impressed (in a bad way) with how little the MAC one does!
I'll have to check out the Great Lash. I think that's the one classic one right? The pink and green?
Thank you! Yeah I keep thinking the CG brush and formula work really well. The first time I used the Doll Eye it was a hot mess, but I think I've gotten better at using it. Which LashBlast formula is your favorite?
MAC mascara is usually about $13 a bottle, while the LashBlast Luxe is like $8 I think? Yeah I don't really buy waterproof mascara anymore. I have this waterproofer stuff from Urban Decay that can make any mascara waterproof, so if I need it, I have it
Hehe! I'll have to try the Ginormous again.
I have a weird love for mascaras that have a learning curve attached to them. My favorite drugstore one is the waterproof Pulse Perfection. The vibration honestly works in helping the bristles comb through my lashes, and lengthens pretty well. My holy grail mascara is MAC Plushlash, which I hated at first, but once I got the hang of the application, which tends to do very well when you twirl the brush a certain way, it makes for amazing lashes.
I vote for the CG lashblast. I use it everyday myself and have not found anything I like as much. I use the original one, not the luxe. I think the ginormous hard candy one looks really good too. A while back I bought Prestige “my biggest lashes” and absolutely loved it but it dried out super fast…. ended up coming back to the lashblast
My vote would be either the Hard Candy Ginormous Lashes in Black Out (with L'Oreal Double Extend Primer) or the LashBlast. So do I account for 2 votes? =D All the mascara I've been using for the past 4-5 years are from Avon. Whenever they go on sale (2 for 7.99, buy one get one) I usually stock up on 2-4 mascaras. I used to use featherlash (don't remember which brand that is) or GreatLash or Almay's mascaras, but when I became an Avon rep, i fell in love with their mascaras. The two I'm switching from now is the Super Curl-acious mascara and Astonishing Lengths (this one I use when I don't feel like curling my lashes). They're pretty cheap (around $8 not on sale), and they work awesome!
Heh, I finally beat you to a product.
I picked up the LashBlastfusion last week when I snagged a new Eco Tools blush brush. All in all, the difference between the regular LashBlast and the LBfusion is pretty negligible for me. I wear UD's mascara primer and have pretty long lashes anyway, so it may have been a case of gilding the lilly. To me LBfusion's formula feels a little more stiff than the regular LashBlast, so if I had to get right down and pick a favorite, classic LashBlast is going to be it.
I have actually only tried 2 mascaras in my life! The first was Avon Perfect Wear (?)… the waterproof one. Then after having one of my favourite beauty bloggers rave about Lancome L'Extreme (the waterproof version) I caved and got it cheap on eBay. That with an eyelash curler beforehand and POW. I've been using that combo for a good 6 months and haven't looked back. It's literally the only mainstream-branded beauty item I use! I would never ever pay full-price for it though, it's about $55. On eBay it's $14-24 which I'm ok with.
Ohhh, Covergirl LashBlast looks good. I need new mascara. I think I'll try that one.
Have you tried any “mineral” mascaras, natural mascaras, and etc? I really try to avoid too much stuff that has a bunch of preservatives… although, many of those you listed are not rated too poorly on the skin deep cosmetics database (www.skindeep.com),” target=”_blank”>
