Dark Fae Look

This look was a reader request, inspired by art from Jasmine Becket-Griffith. I really think this is pretty and I LOVE the outer circle, which reminds me of a peacock feather.

Then, my order from A Joey Named Roo arrived. All the products are vegan and they smell really nice! The only scent I’m not crazy about is the Lemon Meringue Pie.
Photobucket

I ordered:
Raspberry Lemonade vegan lip balm
Rich Chocolate Confections exfoliating lip scrub
Lemon Meringue Pie vegan whipped body butter

I got several freebies:
I’m happy that none of my freebies were lavender scented!
The blueberry soap smells nice.

Check out the cute packaging.

This is what they look like when opened. The chocolate smells so decadent!

I’ll be doing a full review on these soon!

The blue brows look amazing on you!!

      • Phyrra

Yay thanks! I felt like it worked really well with this look.

    • Ellie

I bought a couple of lipbalms from them a while ago. Wearing one right now, (Lavender Honey, the other being Raspberry Lemonade)

I swear the business must be losing money. I paid $6.65 for 2 balms including shipping.
The shipping on the envelope was stamped at $3.12. Add on the cost of the actual padded bubble mailer, ribbon, tissue paper, another layer of tissue paper, several well printed, sturdy business cards, the bag for the lipbalms, the bag for the sample, the confetti and then the actual balms and sample themselves and their containers…

The scent doesn’t last past an hour to an hour and a half, I’ve found, but they still feel nice and smooth on my lips for well after that.
I need to go back to their store sometime after I have an income again. =(

      • Phyrra

I love the raspberry lemonade scent and the chocolate :)

I love the aqua brows! I also really like the double color liner on the lower lash line. It is done so well, the whole look!

      • Phyrra

Yay thanks! I really love how the liner turned out, though the blue was more subtle than I liked on my waterline.

LOL I read Kitten’s comment about the blue brows and I had to go back and look. That’s such a great way to pull it all together. Great colors!

      • Phyrra

Hehe, yeah, that must mean they really fit with the look and didn’t look weird. Glad you liked it!

I just ordered from ajoeynamedroo :) I got a lip balm, some Herbaphilia, and a sugar scrub. Anyone who has oily skin should try out Herbaphilia, I’ve been putting it on every night since I got it and it has drastically reduced my redness and pimpliness. I love it.

I can’t wait to try out the tint and the scrub :) go posties, go!

      • Phyrra

        What is the herbaphilia?

I didn’t even notice the blue brows until I read the first comment.. they look awesome! I really love how you can still see the tiny circles when your eyes are open. The whole look just comes together perfectly. :)

      • Phyrra

Yay thank you! Yeah I need to try a peacock look with this same style :)

    • http://www.thedarkbutterfly.com/blog Nini

This is awesome, thanks for doing this I may attempt something similar. The circles and eyebrows were a very nice touch :)
I’ve also purchased from A Joey Named Roo, their lip balms are really nice and so is the birthday cake body lotion, smells yummy.

I LOVE the name of this look also ;)

The little circles are so cute :3

      • Phyrra

I think I rather like them, too! I may need to do them more often.

Hey Phyrra! I like the creativity behind this look. I appreciate how you run the gamut of indie cosmetics and drugstore brands instead of focusing on MAC or one spec. brand. I read daily and wanted to say I enjoy your blog!

I’ve not heard of Roo before but now, I’ll check them out!

      • Phyrra

Thank you! It’s great to hear that! I really love Indie cosmtics, though I was an exclusive Die Hard MAC girl for a long time!

    • http://themoonmaiden-blix.blogspot.com/ BLIX

You eye makeup looks like candy!

    • Bronwyn

      I’m a little late to the party…

How did you do the blue brow look? Did you use brushes, clear mascara, layer with colored liner…?

It’s the *niftiest* effect, and I’m wondering if my dark Neanderthal brows would work for a similar approach, maybe with a purple color. :) (Or a medium brown tint to fill them in, since I’m paper white underneath my dark hair.)

      • Phyrra

        Hi!
First I brushed my brows into place.
Then I used an angled eye shadow brush with firm/stiff bristles and used Smashbox Brow Tech Wax and put my brow hairs in place. Then I used an angle eye shadow brush and used the pressed eye shadow, Afterparty, to fill in my brows on top of the wax. The wax makes the color pop and holds it in place.

        • Bronwyn

          Thank you!

          *scribbles notes*

Brow Tech Wax… I should try that. It doesn’t wind up peeling off during the day? I have that problem with clear mascara/brow tamers – I just get little white gummy bits all over by lunchtime. :P

          • Phyrra

My brows were on all day until I scrubbed them off :)
You could probably also put eye shadow primer over them and then put eye shadow on top. I’ve done that when I used Beauty from the Earth’s Rome on my brows.

            • Bronwyn

              Good idea. ^_^

              Thank you!

              • Phyrra

                You’re quite welcome!
