Maui Sunset

I think I need to go visit Maui again, because I know I miss it. Today’s look was inspired by a Maui sunset over the water. You see the golden sun painting the sky red-coral, and the mountains turn a dusky purple, while the water is all shades of blue.

Shade Descriptions:
Crystal Avalanche – white with reflects (veluxe pearl)
Sushi Flower – Pinky-coral with pink shimmer (satin)
Plumage – dusky peacock (matte)
Rapunzel Had Extensions – stunning golden pink-peach
Faerie Glamour – medium violet with shimmer that changes from lavender to pale blue to aqua
Futuristic Glam Rock – A gorgeous bright sky blue with strong green sheen. Closer to light, the green sheen becomes violet, giving it a strong lavender highlight. Metallic & sparkly.
Digital Faerie – stunning sky blue with green shimmer
Curiouser & Curiouser – The sparkly, bouncier cousin of Digital Faerie, this blue-aqua shade is filled with blue and turquoise sparkles and shimmer.
Late for Work – Vivid deep cornflower blue luster with sparkles of blue and green.
Hot Stuff – vivid coral-red frost with violet sparks
In the Buff – matte ivory
Backstage Kisses – Light, yet vibrant peach enhanced with tiny reflective sparkles (not gritty glitter!). The sparkles are varying hues of blue and purple, changing to pink/orange
Summerfruit – pale coral

I evidently had way too much blush on, though I couldn’t tell it when I was applying it >.< Anyway, while I’m not really happy with my cheeks, I really love the way the eyes look.

      This is gorgeous.

        Thank you!

First of all, I ADORE this look, it’s in the top three of my favorites you’ve ever done. I am going to try to recreate something similar once my AL order gets here. <3!!

And second, I think you got the descriptions mixed up somewhere, cause I have Digital Faerie, and it is emphatically NOT "deep dark purple with turquoise shimmer". ;-)

      • Phyrra

I had grabbed the wrong description from my spreadsheet. It’s ‘stunning sky blue with green shimmer’. Fixed. Thanks for letting me know :)

And thank you! Glad you like it! really like how it turned out.

      Beautiful!

So pretty. Especially the “water”. And I like you with a little extra blush. Very nice look!

      • Phyrra

Aw thanks! I really need to practice blush, it’s definitely a weak point in my makeup skills.

        • http://bettyrayblogs.blogspot.com/ Katrina

You always seem to do a good job IMO. I’m usually in the too much or too little area myself. Just can’t get it quite right.

    • lillypug

OMG This entire look is so awesome! The earrings and shadow compliment each other so well. Your brows do look perfect. Good job! Everything is perfect.

      • Phyrra

Thank you so much! I did a different technique with the brows and used a VERY thin angled brush on them.

    • Invicta

I really love the look, especially with the gilded touch of Rapunzel Had Extensions and the different shades of blue in the lower lash line. I hope you and yours will be able to go on vacation this summer :]

      • Phyrra

I take a day off here and there, but I won’t be back to Maui for a while.

How gorgeous! You remind me of a tequila sunrise!

      • Phyrra

        Sounds yummy :)

    • Melissa

I personally think your blush looks good, but if you’d like to try a different approach try doing it a bit higher and make your starting point the same as the middle of your eye and use a circular motion this is how I do mine and it looks more like a natural flush.

      • Phyrra

I will give that a try!

this is so pretty, especially when you see it pulled back into the complete look. I’ve been obsessed with sunset looks this summer- the Sleek Sunset and Acid palettes are my favorites-of-late when creating the look- no fun looks like Fyrinnae’s though…I laugh everytime I see “Rapunzel Had Extensions”

      • Phyrra

Oooh I know the Acid palette is supposed to be fabulous! Would love to see a sunset look on you :)

fun names like Fyrinnae’s, is what I meant. Maybe bedtime ;)

Beautiful! And I love your flash of turquoise :)

      • Phyrra

        Yay thanks!

This is gorgeous! One of my fave looks from you. The color combination is beautiul and your earrings and outfit complimet the look very well.

      • Phyrra

Thank you :) I just love the images it conjures in my mind.

This is a very beautiful look! I wish I could say I enjoyed Hawaii as much as you. Circumstances were different though (Medivaced from Okinawa w/ a friend, to take care of her child. Me and the woman don’t get along too well lol). Also, I was on Oahu, in Waikiki and Honolulu.

The only nice people were foreigners. :(

      • Phyrra

Ack! Sorry that your experience wasn’t so good :( Mine is very narrow, only on Maui, and usually only with family, so very positive.

    • http://kroniclesofakonader.blogspot.com Stiletto

Absolutely gorgeous! I have sucked at making the rounds to blogs lately and I really missed seeing your beautiful face and amazing looks!

      • Phyrra

Aww thank you! Glad to see you popping in :)

    • http://eyeconicmakeup.blogspot.com/ Heather / Eyeconic

I’m echoing everyone else and saying this is one of my favorite looks that you’ve done. Just beautiful.

      • Phyrra

Thank you! I really had fun putting this together.

I didn’t really notice your cheeks. You look like you’ve been out in the sun rather than whoring it up with the blush. :-P If I have too much blush on, I blend it down and apply a little more foundation on top…that is if I catch it in time before going out or taking pics.

Your eye makeup is so fun and colourful. Perfect look for the beach! I lurve it!

      • Phyrra

Haha! I think it’s because the blush I used is a coral/natural flush type color.

        Thank you! *hug*

    • Ghost

Makes me want to crack open the sunscreen. Love how all the colours blened together and I love the blue along the bottom. fantastic as always :)

    • http://www.lacquerloveblog.blogspot.com Serena

This look is stunning…it really resembles a sunset! I love the lip colour you chose as well.

      • http://www.lacquerloveblog.blogspot.com Serena

I barely even noticed the blush…I was too busy staring at the eyes!

    • Conogirl

I love these colors on you. You and Diavolobello can wear any blue/teal/sapphire/lapis lazuli combination with anything. Your new hair color really makes your eyes stand out.

    • Lucy

I’ve never been to Hawaii. Your eye makeup would really look perfect there. Really mimics the sunset look. Very pretty.

      • Phyrra

Thank you so much! I love it!
