Too Faced Naked Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection

With one of the gift cards I received for my birthday, I purchased the Too Faced Naked Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection. Since I don’t have a neutral palette, I thought this would be a nice way to round out my collection.

This palette is supposed to help you look like you’re not wearing any makeup at all, enhancing your natural beauty. It’s got staple shades that are good for any collection, especially if your collection is mostly brights like mine.

It also contains 3 look cards: Day, Classic & Fashion. I’m looking forward to giving them a try.

All the colors are swatched on Aromaleigh Light Primer.

Day
In the Buff – matte ivory
Pillow Talk – light taupe sheen
Like a Virgin – matte taupe

Classic
Birthday Suit – beige shimmer
Satin Sheets – golden champagne himmer
Unmentionables – steel grey shimmer

Fashion
Pink cheeks – pale pink
Lap Dance – silvery taupe shimmer
Stiletto – matte black

My favorites:
Satin Sheets, Pink Cheeks, Unmentionables, Stiletto, In the Buff

The colors all seem like nice neutrals and work really well with my skintone.
The little brushes that come with it are not to my taste, so I don’t think they’re useful. The palette is easily portable, though a bit taller than I thought it would be. I think that at $35 for 9 shadows ($3.89 each), it’s a really good deal.

Have you tried this palette? Do you have a favorite neutral palette?

I am DYING to get the new Urban Decay Naked palette but I waited too long and it sold out so I have to wait until it comes back in stock. http://www.urbandecay.com/categories/NakedPalette.cfm

I was thinking about the UD one and this one, and finally went for this one because I could use my Amazon gift card to purchase it :) The UD one looks nice, too.

What a great collection. Can’t wait to see what you do with it!

I’ll be trying a look or two :>

You’re like me then! Loads of brights and maybe one or two neutrals. I’ve always been impressed with Too Faced so I might look into this palette for the days where I can’t wear bright green.

I know I love my Too Faced Shadow Insurance, so I thought this would be cool.

The palette is very pretty, but I’m not sure about Birthday Suit on the browbone. It might look good on medium toned women, but I fear it’ll look just weird on pale faces like us.

    Be a guinea pig? :D

I don’t think Birthday Suit is meant for the browbone, but as an all over lid wash. I know i couldn’t pull Birthday Suit off if I put it on my browbone. Yeah that ‘Classic’ card is crazy! I would probably try it with Birthdaysuit on lid and crease, Satin Sheets on browbone and inner v, and Unmentionables to contour and line.

That sounds exactly right. I dunno what they were thinking. lol

I have mostly brights and only a handful of neutrals too so I think I need a palette like this too. The colors look pretty.

I think this one or the UD palette would be good :)

Lapdance looks really pretty :) I LOVE the NYX Champagne & Caviar palette, it’s got beautiful neutrals in it.

I’ll have to peek at it.

I love Two Faced’s Natural Eye palette–maybe it’s discontinued now? At any rate, the top row of the Natural Eye is all matte shades, and the crease shade is my Holy Grail shade, because it’s dark enough to contour, but actually light enough to look natural on the paper white likes of me.

I’m totally jonesing for the UD Naked palette. Scratching my eye shadow tracks, in fact!

I don’t think it’s discontinued, I think that TF just released 2 palettes. Yay that you found your HG shade! Sweet!

The colours do look gorgeous. My collection is also mostly brights, but that’s mainly because I feel that neutrals like in the palette above either look too light and silly on me or don’t show up at all (like the browns). I’m sure they’ll look great on you though!

I realized I like greys for neutrals. I’m hoping that I’ll have fun playing with this palette, but don’t fear, I will not give up my bright looks!

I really like how this palette combines matte shadows and ones with sheen. I have have quite a few neutral sheens and have ordered a few mattes. I look forward to see how you put these colors together. Additionally, since your post in which you did a very neutral lid with (I think it was) aqua liner on the bottom, the look has become one of my summertime favorites.

    • Phyrra July 4, 2010 at 12:16 pm #

Yeah, I’m with you! I really appreciate mattes for mixing textures these days. Oh yes! I love the neutral lid with a pop of liner color. I’m pretty sure everyone can pull that off :>

So cool! Neutral tones have been my obsession lately…I have to check this palette out…but I agree – The UD Naked Palette looks soooo incredible! I am counting down to August!

    • Phyrra July 4, 2010 at 12:17 pm #

If you’re obsessing with neutrals, my favorite neutral obsession right now is MAC’s Copperplate. TOTALLY AMAZING! And yeah, the UD palette looks cool!

I don’t have this palette. Tempting but I do have millions of shadows. I do love the look of Satin Sheets. I also can’t wait till the Urban Decay Naked Palette is out.

Everyone is so excited for UD’s Naked :)
