Arsenic and Old Lace

Arg, I’ve got huge dark circles under my eyes today! I couldn’t fall asleep for anything last night. I was up after 2:30 am and then I forgot to set my alarm. Thankfully I woke up at 8:20, so I wasn’t late taking Dave to work, or getting to work myself. I threw my makeup on super fast and didn’t put on any undereye concealer, and I really should have. Anyway I put together a look I liked, even if it was quickly. I used Concrete Ruse and Arsenic. Arsenic is a very interesting shade, as it’s a reddish brown with blue shimmer.

Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Concrete Ruse – lid and blended up to inner crease and inner lower lash line
Concrete Arsenic – outer crease and outer lower lash line
MAC Blanc Type – on browbone
MAC Dazzlelight – to highlight under eyebrows and inner corners of eye
Physicians Formula Black with Blue glitter gel liner – upper lash line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero – lower water line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Flipside – to define brows
Hard Candy 1000 Lashes primer
Cover Girl Lash Blast Luxe Mascara

Cheeks:
Too Faced Lust to Love Blush Duo

Face:
Meow Pamepred Puss foundation in Inquisitive Siamese

Lips:
Spell Vamp Up Gloss in Bordello

beautiful for a quick look. I really like that brownish c olor.

      • Phyrra

Thanks! I was really happy I liked it as I don’t always like brown colors.

Arsenic and Old Lace… I love the title of this post. I read and performed a section of that play in my acting class a few years ago.

Beautiful look, I love the red gloss you’re wearing.

      • Phyrra

Yep! That’s what it’s referencing, the old play/movie.

Love these colors! I wore some similar colors today, but less gold in my look. Looks beautiful for a quick look!

      • Phyrra

        Thanks Peach!

This is really pretty! It would have gone good with my red hair lol but I’m blonde now! I think the gold on your bottom lash line offsets any dark circles you may think you have

      • Phyrra

        Thanks Melissa!

This look is phenomenal – my new favorite! I’m partial though; my favorite color pairing is gold and burgundy/maroon on ANYTHING (I know Arsenic isn’t quite burgundy or maroon, but it looks similar). Yummy!

      • Phyrra

Thanks Jean! I’m glad you like it :)

Ruse is gorgeous! Though I really wish Concrete would get their colour descriptions together – Ruse fits the description of Vegas more than Vegas actually does!

      • Phyrra

I’ll have to check. I was thinking Vegas was a brighter gold?

I really like these warm colors, they are so nice. Dark under-eye circles are the bane of my existence… mine are genetically just awful, and I also have really messed up sleeping patterns which makes them worse. I have yet to find a good enough concealer for them.

      • Phyrra

If I remember to use the Meow undereye concealer I have (before I put on my foundation) I can usually conceal them. But sometimes I just forget, and lately I’ve not gotten good sleep. Having messed up sleeping patterns suck :(

Arsenic is really pretty! I like where you applied it.

      • Phyrra

Thank you! I was trying for something a little different :)

Love this one. And if you did have circles, you did a bang up job covering ‘em cuz I don’t see them. :) I never heard of Concrete. Will check ‘em out now. Thanks!

      • Phyrra

Aww thanks Katrina! And Concrete Minerals is cool :)

I love the title of this post!! :D Arsenic looks so pretty and unique! :) I like the whole look! :)

      • Phyrra

Thanks Stavroula! I figured referencing the old movie/play would be cool :)
