Candy Gothic Lolita Look

Back in July I did this tutorial for an online magazine. It was really a lot of fun. So I thought I’d share it with you here.

Here are the products that I used:

Too Faced
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Naked Eye Kit
Pink Provacateur Blush Duo
Borderline Lipliner

Meow Cosmetics
Meow’s Pleasures Eye Shadows
Meow’s Pampered Puss Foundation

Sugarpill
Dollipop Pressed Shadow

Aromaleigh
Metamorphosis Finishing Powder
Black Out Gel Liner

http://fyrinnae.com/
Glow Blush in Charm
Lip Lustre in Lollipop-pop

Urban Decay
24/7 liner in Yeyo
Eye Lash Primer (Lingerie for Lashes)

Smashbox
Brow Tech Wax

I Kick Shins
Toyokalon Loose Falls

Pinky Paradise
Max Pure Pink Circle Lenses

Step 1

Start with a clean eye & apply eye shadow primer.
I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

Step 2

With a small detail brush, apply Bubble Bath to the inner v.

Step 3

With a lid brush, apply Chick Flick to the lid, blending with the inner v.

Step 4

With a small detail brush, apply Bird Song to the inner crease.

Step 5

With a fiber optic pointed crease brush, apply Cuddles to the outer crease and outer v, blending with Bird Song in the inner crease.

Step 6

With a highlighter brush, apply In the Buff on the browbone. You can also do this step before you do the crease colors.

Step 7

Brush your brows into place. Apply brow wax or pomade to your brows. Apply Dollipop with an angled brow brush.

Step 8

Apply Black Out Gel Liner with a pointed eyeliner brush. Start at about the middle of the lid and line the eye going inward.

Step 9

Apply Black Out Gel Liner with a pointed eyeliner brush. Start from the middle of the lid and work outward, extending the liner for a cat eye.

Step 10

Apply Black Out Gel Liner with a pointed eyeliner brush.
Add a second flick underneath the first, mimicking lashes.

Step 11

Apply Black Out Gel Liner with a pointed eyeliner brush. Along the lower lash line, draw a line from the outer corner to about halfway inside the lower lash line.

Step 12

Apply Sweat Pants to inner lower lash line with a smudge brush.

Step 13

Apply Urban Decay eye lash primer.

Step 14

Apply Flirt! It Curl mascara in Bombshell Black.

Step 15

Apply Yeyo to lower water line.

Step 16

Apply a pale foundation with a kabuki brush. I used Meow’s Pampered Puss foundation in Inquisitive Siamese.

Step 17

Apply Vellum under eyebrows with a detail brush.

Step 18

Apply Charm blush to cheeks with an angled fiber optic blush brush.

Step 19

Apply Pink Provacateur matte side to contour with a large fluffy eye shadow brush.

Step 20

Apply Metamorphosis finishing powder with a fiber optic face brush.

Step 21

Apply Borderline Lipliner to lips.

Step 22

Apply Lollipop-pop lip lustre.

Hah! Thanks Daniel! Hey, why weren’t you at DragonCon?

      • Daniel September 7, 2010 at 5:10 pm #

hahaha i think you might have the wrong daniel, I’m the kid who found your blog a year or so ago from the wikipedia page lol.

I think I’ve used different names because when I clear my history it goes all weird, but I also go by gottogog or irongator.

        So anyway…nice hair!

        • Phyrra September 7, 2010 at 5:22 pm #

No, I recognize who you are :P Just surprised you didn’t go. We did have several Daniels there though!

          • Daniel September 7, 2010 at 5:30 pm #

oh! In that case, cool! Yeah, I didn’t go, not really old enough to just drive off by myself atm. I’m only 17 atm. I do want to go one day. Maybe when I graduate high school I’ll take a bus down, kind of like a passing into adulthood ceremony. That would be really cool, especially since I have a bunch of friends, both online and irl who go there(I’ve always had older friends LOL).

            But anyways…yeah. =)

            • Phyrra September 7, 2010 at 5:35 pm #

              Ahh that makes sense!

  12. AmyS September 7, 2010 at 10:31 am #

I love this look! It has a very cool Japanese anime feel to it. Awesome!

I’m going to try using shadow insurance as my base to see if I can get my mineral shadows to apply with more opacity. I always marvel at how you get your mineral shadows to look pigmented. When I apply them they always look sheer and don’t stay on.

    • Phyrra September 7, 2010 at 4:19 pm #

      Aww thanks Amy!
You can try using TFSI, or an eye shadow primer you like, plus Pixie Epoxy. You can also pat the color on, as opposed to brush the color on if you’re just using primer. If you’re using primer + PE, be sure to brush.

  13. Parched September 7, 2010 at 6:11 pm #

Gorgeous look…so many products though. Wow! I know you always list them but it looks like so much more when you lay it out like that.

The contacts are especially gorgeous for this look.
