I like Alima Pure! I like the texture of their shadows too. I still have quite a bit left from the taupe-neutral samples I got a while back but I’ve been wanting to place a full size order. I really like this eyeshadow set! I may have to get it. :)

The texture/finish definitely seems nice, especially on Spun Gold. I think that’s my favorite from this collection.

Hi! thanks for an amazing blog.

As for Alima Pure I tried their blushes. It was ok. Customer service was amazing. I stopped looking at them mainly because of EWG ratings (cosmeticsdatabase.org) they got for their other products including the shadows (3 = moderate hazard). What do you think?

    • Phyrra October 31, 2010 at 10:51 pm #

I don’t know how accurate the ratings are for Alima Pure because looking at that site it says the eye shadows are low to moderate (1 to 3) in risk. I can’t even find MAC listed on that site for a comparison.

EWG skews ingredients ratings in order to scare you away from using pretty much anything- take anything you read there with a grain- no, a handful- of salt. Many of the things they deem “hazardous” are in actuality some of the safest things out there, yet if one study says there MAY be a chance of any given substance being dangerous in one way or another, they will post it as a fact. And people will avoid it like the plague.

In a brief look at Alima, I see nothing in their ingredients lists that should be avoided due to danger. The ingredients they use seem to be in line with the ingredients found in every makeup available, mineral or not.

And Phyrra, this is the 2nd review this week I’ve seen of this company, and I’ve never hearing of them before- their stuff looks absolutely wonderful! You’re KILLING my willpower, lady. Killing it.

LOL I misread ‘Glass Slipper’ as ‘Glass Stripper’ and was like ‘That’s such a cool name for a shadow! Oh wait….’ XD

I love the look of Spun Gold (though that’s a given :D ), Enchanted Forest and Glass Slipper
