Darling’s Afterparty

I played with blues and teals today, favorites from Sugarpill, Fyrinnae and Evil Shades. I also tried a different technique with my eyebrows, thanks to Ana suggesting that I try something that Petrilude did in a video. I used Urban Decay’s 24/7 liner in Zero lightly to define my brows and then used an angled eye shadow brush to sort of soften the edges. I actually think the black looks pretty natural.

I really love how my lips turned out.

I took a couple pix of the back of my hair. Now that it’s dyed, it looks blue-black, the way it should look.

Eyes:
UDPP Eden
Sugarpill Afterparty – lid and crease, edge of outer lower lash line
MAC Blanc Type – from eyebrows to crease
Sugarpill Darling – crease, blended upwards, lower lash line
Milani Pencil in Aqua – lower lash line
Evil Shades Sylph – inner v
Fyrinnae Catrina Cabaret – lower crease, outer lid, outer v
Fyrinnae Glitterboi – corner of outer lid and outer v
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero – lower water line, also used to define brows
MAC Plumage – used to define brows
Wet n’ Wild Black Creme Liner – upper lash line
Sugarpill Stella – on top of the black creme liner
Sugarpill Lumi – on browbone to highlight, blended down
Hard Candy 1000 lashes primer
Flirt! It Curls Mascara

Cheeks:
Meow Skinny dipper in Light Siamese
DuWop blush in Watermelon

Face:
Meow Undereye concealer in Inquisitive Siamese
Meow Pampered Puss foundation in Inquisitive Siamese

Lips:
MAC Lipstick in Pink Burst
Milani Gloss in Movie Star

I also got some fun things recently.

First, Kim from OverallBeauty sent me some lash primer, mascara and eye shadows to try out, in addition to some nail wheels. I LOVE nail wheels :)

Next, I received a small order that I’d placed with Suds n’ Sass.

It was for wax breakaway tarts in Cuddley Blue Poodle & Into the Woods, Pumpkin Sass shower stuff, Night Elf Eye Shadow and Get UR Freak on Eye Shadow. She also sent me a Creamy Pumpkin tart and a tiny Honey (I think) soap sample. And of course, an adorable halloween card.

I received a bracelet from Krista to try out that she and her husband made. It’s made of leather with handset rivets.

I also received my monster Cold Heart Palette that I purchased from Sugarpill.

The palette is in pretty good shape, aside from Bulletproof being cracked in a few places and a small chip in Tako.

Also, after asking you all for help, researching online, and discussing with Ray and Dave, I decided to get the Remington flat iron with the automatic shut off. I also spoke the the sales lady at Ulta, after I’d looked at all the flat irons there (she was pushing Chi). I also picked up a matte ink blue pencil by Smashbox and some spray wax (though they were out of the spray wax my stylist recommended.

Anyway, for a monday, this has been a fairly good day. It’s been nice to start the week without a crisis.

How about you? How are you?

I got my palette too! I got the Sweetheart one (and the Burning Heart but it hasn’t come in yet for some reason). It looks pretty good too, it just has a couple nicks in all the shadows. Nothing major and definitely worth the price.
Good call on the Remington flat iron..that’s what I use and my hair can be pretty frizzy o.o

      • Phyrra

I used it this morning for the first time. It really does heat up fast. I like it.

    • Rebecca

I really like your eyebrows. Have you tried Smashbox’s pencils before? Are they pretty good? I’m always on the look out for a decent eyeliner.

      • Phyrra

Thank you! I haven’t tried Smashbox’s pencils before, this was sort of an impulse pencil buy, since it was the first matte inky blue color I’ve found.

    • http://segnoseven.com/blog Tea

Woo! The black eyebrows make you look exotic, which always = sexy.

      • Phyrra

Thanks! I think this is the first time I’ve worn black on my eyebrows and not had it be too strong.

    • http://www.lipsticksandlightsabers.com Anastasia

I really like the eyebrows. I think it’s the best fit for them since you’ve died your hair.

Wow, I have a sudden, inexplicable urge for fairy cakes.

The eye look is totally stunning. Afterparty is amazing.

      • Phyrra

Thanks! You’re the one who’s responsible for showing me the cool vid :)

        I <3 Afterparty! I think it’s amazing too ;)

        I sooo want fairy cakes

LOVE your hair!!! And your eyes are stunning in those blues!

      Adore the bracelet as well.

My husband bought me the same Remington flat iron when we were on a long vacation (and I had left mine at home), and I love it. I now keep it packed and use it for all my travels so I’m never without one again! LOL. :)

      • Phyrra

Thanks Veronica! I’ll be sure to review the flat iron after I’ve had it for a while :) It’s good to hear you love it!

    • Tina

So pretty. I like the eyebrows, too. They do look natural. Maybe I’ll try that technique, too. I just use the powder from Smashbox’s brunette brow tech. That bracelet is way cool!

      • Phyrra

Thanks Tina! I have the Smashbox Brow Tech Wax thing, and I had been using that to put my eyebrows in place, then put a powder on top of it.
This method basically I use an eyeliner and draw in my brows, then use a brush to sort of soften them.

My name is crisis! I finally have hot water after the plumber fixed a leak, got a new water heater but that wasn’t the problem, the breaker switch was. The electrician just left. Now the pressure valve has a leak so the WH guy comes BACK tomorrow. Thanks for listening.

That’s fast – you have your flat iron already!

      • Phyrra

I’m glad that you got everything fixed! So sorry for the mess :( Totally feel the pain.

    • http://www.auntiepupule.com/blog/soos.php Soos

Forgot to say you should let us know how you like it!

      • Phyrra

        I’ll be reviewing it :)

Super cute look- especially w/ the new hair (also totally hot!)

I got a couple “monster” palettes myself- actually the two you didn’t get (Burning Heart and Sweet Heart). I could barely tell they were “damaged”. One had some scratches on Buttercupcake, and the other had a tiny little chip taken out of the edge of Afterparty- both of which I already owned, so lucky me!

I think it says a lot about the quality control standards at Sugarpill that the imperfections that made these “monsters” would easily be sold at full retail prices by a lot of other (big box) lines!

      • Phyrra

Thank you so much Jessica! Really only my black looked damaged, with all those cracks. The white had a small chip out and Poison Plum and Afterparty looked perfect.

Yes it does! Sugarpill has AWESOME quality control.

    • http://www.auntiepupule.com/blog/soos.php Soos

Thanks for your kind words of sympathy. Looks like their solution may be an entirely new water heater instead of just the part.

      *shakes head and sighs*

      • Phyrra

Ick. I had to buy a new water heater last month :( I feel your pain.

    • http://silhouettescreams.blogspot.com SilhouetteScreams
