I did a quick little video to show how I apply my mineral foundation. Yes, you get to see my naked face in it.

Thanks! I use the same brush and apply the same way, guess I’ve been doing it right
You’re quite welcome!
Thanks for he video! I’m sort of close to your complexion…. do you know your shade in MAC by chance? I want to try meow foundation instead of MAC and bare escentuals
One of the reasons I got into mineral makeup is that MAC was too dark for me. Depending on the Makeup Artist, they’d have me try NW15 or NC15, but both are really too dark for me. I’m neutral. So I don’t really have a shade match in MAC.
I love your accent
Oh, I like your method better than mine. For some reason after I tap the mineral foundation into the lid, I mash the heck out of it into the bristles of the kabuki brush. I can never seem to get enough coverage. I’ll try your dip method instead. Thanks!
You’re quite welcome Rebecca!
Anyone trying to use a sample size or mini jar of foundation can use a swirly bowl. I use a plastic dish meant for serving sauces with Asian meals. I have a smaller, matching dish, that works well with eyeshadow, too.
Swirly jars are great for mixing up masks, too, and they can be disinfected.
A good cheap alternative is the lid from a can of oatmeal.
I also recommend little paint mix trays like the ones you can get at Michael’s for foiling eye shadows.
Your method seems to apply the foundation better. I think I saw a Bare Minerals video or something of “how to apply foundation” a few years back and I for some reason started using that technique to apply foundation when I started using Meow’s – which doesn’t really work, as I found out quickly (it’s a little weird to be using the heaviest coverage they have and having it barely apply at all).
I think I’m going to try your method the next time I wear foundation – it should work better! Thanks for the video!
You’re quite welcome! I’m not sure how else I would attempt to apply it, except maybe with a flocked sponge the way I used to do pressed powder.
THanks for the video!!
You’re welcome Sakura!
That was super helpful! Figured out I need a better brush. You have such a nice complexion too!
Aww thank you! And I totally recommend the ecoTools brushes. They’re inexpensive and very good quality.
Just wanted to say that I think you are an absolute natural beauty, Phyrra! You really do look prettier without the makeup (although the makeup is a nice touch).
