Morgana Cryptoria Hair Dye Sale

As you know, I love hair dye. I love coloring my hair. I’m excited to tell you that Morgana Cryptoria has a hair dye sell going on. She sells Punky, my favorite, and Manic Panic, another that I like.
If you buy 2 or more of a brand you’ll get the sale price.
However, you can’t mix and match between brands.
So if you buy 1 Manic Panic and 1 Punky, you won’t get a discount.
If you buy 2 Punky, you’ll get a discount.

As always, free shipping and insurance on orders over $50.

My favorite brand, hands down, is Punky. That’s what I’ve gotten the best results with in my hair. So that’s what I recommend :)

Oh man…Punky’s good you say? I’ve only ever used Special Effects…but $6 sounds pretty good..and Red Wine looks like my kind of color.

Punky works really well on my hair! I love it!

Gahhh… I wish I could snatch some of that up! But, alas, my hair is BEYOND fried and I’m trying to find a job so I can’t do anything too crazy to it.

You could always do a color that would just show up as a slight tint on top of your natural color, like a dark red or wine/burgundy shade.

I use Midnight Blue on top of my natural dark color to make a blue-black shade.

      • sarah October 29, 2010 at 12:43 am #

My hair is currently blue-black with a grayish (supposed to be white) streak in front. I’m leaving it alone for a bit, though, so I can just bleach it, cos I’m tired of all the weird looks that I get for having black hair when *GASP!!!* I’m a natural blonde. I have a lot of broken-off sections where my hair just cried Uncle and gave up.

Doh! you should probably do a hot oil treatment to deep condition your hair.

          • sarah October 30, 2010 at 4:08 am #

Tried that. I wore a Moroccan Oil treatment on my head for about three hours, a conditioner with more oil in it, sporadically putting heat to it. My hair is dead with a capitol D. It won’t hold color at all- I have permanent dye on it and I’m starting to see some light reddish-brown poking through where it’s washed out.

I’m a professional, I should’ve known better. But this was the worst I’ve ever screwed up, so… At least it wasn’t on someone else’s head, right?

Doh! I hope your hair grows back fast for you. Man, that’s bad if hot oil can’t fix.

Screw ‘em if they don’t like your black hair. I will say that since Punky Colours is just jacked up food dye in a conditioner base, it will do more good for your hair in its current state than harm. It sure helps mine after I bleach the hell out of it. (I’m naturally very dark haired, but I dye my hair blue black and then strip it back out with bleach to overdye with PC.)

Honestly, my hair was better when I had it dyed green (Manic Panic’s Enchanted Forest) than it’s been since I bleached it the first time 3 months ago. But since I’m looking for a job and people tend to frown on “unnatural” hair colors…

I’m going platinum. But it won’t be a beach-bunny look, you can be sure of that.

Aww I would love to see pretty platinum hair.

I LOVE my punky color :P

Damn, she’s only got two Deep Purple. :( I recently did a mix of Deep Purple and Burgundy Wine Special Effects and it’s *amazing.* Next time I wanna go all Deep Purple to make a blackish/purplish color all over (my roots are lighter than the rest so they’re very purple and in the sun it’s gorgeous). The only downside is that *everything* is purple now. Rinsing it out in the shower and my subsequent shampooings have turned the white bathtub an intense purple.

Who has good tips for keeping that from happening again? I even rinsed outside for fifteen minutes before jumping in the shower (my skin turned purple!) to no avail. It’s just such an intense dye holy crap!

Maybe I’ll try Punky Colors too, you say you like it a lot? Have you used Special Effects before? How would you say they compare?

    • Phyrra October 29, 2010 at 12:19 pm #

When I tried Special Effects it worked about like Manic Panic did for me, maybe a bit less intense. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t like Punky has been for me. I don’t know why Punky works so well on my hair, but it really does.

The trick to keep it off your skin is really to rinse until the water runs clean. It takes me 20 mins to a half hour sometimes!!! I feel like I’m rinsing FOREVER!

      • Sara October 29, 2010 at 11:51 pm #

Hmm…well I’m willing to give Punky a shot then. It definitely seems to stick around in your photos (what I really want, something that lasts a while).

Ugh…rinsing..don’t even talk to me about rinsing. My hair is a wee bit above my butt and I can rinse for an hour the water will never run clear – literally, an hour – henna is easier for me to rinse than these dyes. I’ve found using a really big bowl (a washtub) and filling it, dunking my head in and swishing around with my fingers, repeat, chuck out the water, fill it, repeat the process until I’m sick of it or the water color is less intense, and *then* jumping in the shower for more rinsing usually helps…usually. Still takes over an hour though.

Do you do anything afterwards? Use any kind of post-coloring treatment or deep conditioner or siliconey leave-in? Imma take a gander at some of your previous entries about your color routine and find out! :)

I have to say, I’ve used punky in the past, and although the colors are great, I found SFX had more lasting power! Atomic pink NEVER washes out completely. Even if you dilute the color with conditioner, you get a super intense baby pink!

    • Phyrra October 31, 2010 at 9:43 pm #

I think it’s gotta be hair texture/type then. With my hair, Punky seems to last the longest, but I know for lots of people, they have better results with SFX. Intense baby pink sounds kinda cool :)

As much as I promised I’d go back to “conventional” colors, after the burgandy I put on my hair faded to this nasty ugly grey purple color, you’d better believe that some Poppy Red went on top in a hurry.

I need some more Poppy Red, and probably some Rubine. I’m happiest in the pink/red/purple shades.

My hair is almost normal, right? It’s blue-black :) .. with some aqua.

I bet Poppy Red perks it all back up.

Ugh…just spent $50 on hair dye, that seems so indulgent!!

Grabbed the last two SFX Deep Purples, 2 Punky Colors in Plum, and 2 in Alpine just to shake things up when my purple phase passes (never!!).

    Yay for free shipping!!
