Between Fyrinnae’s Damn Paladins and Concrete Mineral’s Lolita, I’m quickly becoming fond of taupes. I put together a quick look with taupes today, though I’m not happy with the liner that I ended up using. I think I probably should have just stuck to black, since it’s my preference, instead of greys.
Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Fyrinnae Damn Paladins – inner 1/2 of lid and inner lower lash line and inner 3/4 of crease
Concrete Minerals Lolita – outer 1/2 of lid and outer lower lash line and outer 1/2 of crease blended inward
Fyrinnae Ancient Mirage – on browbone to highlight
Morgana Graphite – to deepen outer 1/4 of crease
Maybelline Charcoal Gel Liner – upper lash line
Cover Girl Silver Spark Pencil – lower water line
MAC Plumage – to define brows
Hard Candy 1000 lashes Primer
Flirt! It Curls mascara
Cheeks:
DuWop blush in Watermelon
Hard Candy blush in Pinup – to contour a bit
Face:
Meow Pampered Puss foundation in Inquisitive Siamese
Lips:
Nyx lipliner in Currant – to lightly line and fill in lips
MAC Lipglass in Wrong Spell
I promise you I will be reviewing Hard Candy 1000 Lashes Primer, as well as Flirt! It Curls Mascara soon, as I really like both and as you can see from the picture above, I get good results with both. Or at least, I feel I get good results. And OMG I need to make an appointment to get my brows waxed! They’re driving me crazy! I’ve just been so busy with work I haven’t had time to do that.

I have a question about the Fyrinnae eye shadow Damn Paladins. The website describes it as taupe with a blueish tinge, how blue is it? Is it a true blue or does it have a greenish/teal shift? I really do love taupes but blue does NOT suit me at all and I was wondering if you can clear this up for me. I have very fair skin with yellow undertones and green eyes. Thanks in advance, I hope this isnt a bother!
It has a light blue, maybe pale aqua? no green to it to my eyes.
Look very nice . The grey liner isn’t bad , but maybe a darker one gives a little more depth to your beautiful eyes

I’m always surprised by the greys and browns, they aren’t colors I usually buy (I’m such a blues and greens girl!). But they always look so nice!

I’ve been surprised to find myself loving taupes lately as well. I started making my own eyeshadows, and was playing around with several silver based shadows, and at first my favorite one was the sparkliest, but my current favorite is the taupiest. Yes, I just said “taupiest”. I like to pair it with plums and violets.

Goblet is the taupy one. It looks more silvery in the pictures, but on it is really warm and nice. I need to get some pictures of them on me.

I like the grey liner, it gives the eye a much softer feel. Black would look gorgeous, but always nice to mix it up a bit. LOVE the lippy on you.

Damn Paladins is growing on me, I haven’t used it very often & I learned that I don’t like it at all when used over Pixie Epoxy but I’ll give it another try tomorrow. I think grey liner worked well with the subdued eye look especially considering the wine colored lip gloss. And I didn’t notice your brows until I read the end of the post!

I like using it on the upper crease too, as a transition color. Works great that way.
Beautiful look! And I think the grey liner looks nice as it is. When I place an order with Fyrinnae I’ll probably pick up Damn Paladins, it seems to be a pretty and useful shade.
