Kitten

I wanted to recreate the look I did last Wednesday for travel, so I put it together again for today. It’s a simple look, but really brightens up the eye area. I did kick it up a notch with using Fuchsia liner to change the color of my lipstick. I would LOVE to see Morgana make a golden pink this shade, since I’d wear it :P

Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Stila Kitten – all over eye area
Physicians Formula Black with Blue Glitter Gel – upper lash line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Yeyo – lower water line
Avon Glimmersticks brow pencil in Soft Black – to define brows
Hard Candy 1000 Lashes Primer
Flirt! It Curls Mascara in Bombshell Black

Cheeks:
Too Faced Lust to Love blush duo

Face:
L’Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
Meow Pampered Puss foundation in Inquisitive Siamese
Hard Candy Moon Glow Luminizing Powder

Lips:
Nyx lipliner in Fuchsia
Avon 24k Lipstick in Golden Rose

This is the type of look that i wear- neutral eyes and bright lips! Love it! Pheadra looks absolutely adorable in that first picture!

I thought so too, so even though I looked silly, I included it.

I think you look beautiful! Phaedra thinks you look delicious. ; )

Hehe, thanks! I can totally see the appeal of Kitten now.

LOL @Robyn I was about to say the same thing!!

This look should be in a commercial for the Hard Candy glow stuff – your skin looks AMAZING. Now where’d I put my Christmas list …

Do you use a brush (if so, which one, please) or your finger to apply Kitten?

I have this color, but I have neglected it. But you are motivating me to give it a whirl.

I used a brush to apply Kitten. I don’t typically use my fingers for pressed shadows. I used a Medusa fluff shadow brush. Basically any large all over shadow brush for a wash of color will work.

Part of me wants to edit this post I made, but I can’t, so it will have to stand. I’m so embarrassed! I should not post while I’m exhausted and on cold meds! I realize now that my post made no sense. I could rephrase myself in a (hopefully) more coherent manner, but maybe this is funnier if i leave it alone!

If I ever start feeling too good about myself (not likely, but I’m speaking hypothetically) I’ll just take a look at this weird comment that I made. That’ll bring me back down to earth.

Wow. I thought those meds did not have an effect on me. I guess not…

          Aww no worries!

Ooh, I love Kitten, but like thebirdofparadise I’ve been neglecting it.

If I’m honest, I’ve been favouring my pots of loose magic recently, and neglecting all my pressed powders. My question is do you ever combine loose and pressed eyeshadows in the same look? I always avoid it because it seems as if they have such different application methods that I’m not sure how to make them work together.

    Thanks!

I combine loose and pressed all the time :) In fact, today I’m wearing Sugarpill Love + with Morgana Cryptoria Harbinger.

This is a beautiful, simple look. I have Kitten but it does NOT look like that on me. It looks a bit duochromish (is that a word? whatever) on you and it looks so plain on me.

I’ve heard there are different versions of Kitten. At least a pressed and a cream shadow. Maybe try a different version? Or is it possible that the versions we own are different? This one is new since it’s from that palette I bought from Sephora. It might make sense that it looks different if Stila changed how they formulated it.

I love that look. That is my preferred look for me.

    • Phyrra December 1, 2010 at 3:12 pm #

Thanks Alice! What’s your go-to shade?

  10. Nessa December 1, 2010 at 10:14 am #

I got mine from Sephora too. I picked up this one. I think it might be the same one you have. Maybe it’s how the light hits your eye that make the shadow look different?

Very nice! I like you in the occasional neutrals, they look so polished and clean. It’s my favorite kind of winter look too, goldeny-neutral with well-done eyebrows and bright lips. Seems so wintery!

    • Phyrra December 1, 2010 at 3:12 pm #

      Thank you Sara!

I love this combo.. the simple one color on your eyes with the brightness of the lipstick. It’s very flattering!

And the pics of Phaedra made me laugh, especially the last one where you caught her midlick haha! I’d like to see more pictures of your pugs, or is it just one pug now? My boyfriend’s got a puggy too… or piggy as I like to call him ;)

    • Phyrra December 5, 2010 at 11:43 am #

      Just one pug :)
I got a bunch of good ones this weekend!

      And thank you :)

Kitten looks great on you. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with my skintone.
I don’t know who is the prettier girl in that photo-you or Phaedra. =]

    • Phyrra December 5, 2010 at 11:44 am #

      Aww thanks!
What’s your flattering wash of color shade?
