Suds n’ Sass Solid Sugar Scrub – A Review

Some time last year, I acquired some Suds n’ Sass Solid Sugar Scrub in Candy Cane. I can’t remember if I purchased this or if it was a contest prize. I even checked under my Suds n’ Sass category tags.

These cost around $8 for the 8 oz net weight, and they were just added back to the site.

Anyway, my jar of Candy Cane contained several bars of scrub. This past Saturday morning I took a very luxurious hot bath and soaked before deciding to reach for a bar of Candy Cane. I’m trying to make an effort to do more relaxing, less stressing in my life, which means more self-care and more pampering of the DIY at home variety.

I moistened the bar of Candy Cane, and then proceeded to use the whole bar to exfoliate my entire body. By the time I was done I was relaxed, smooth skinned and smelling of yummy candy cane. I do need to say that while this is not one of the lovely house blends that Suds n’ Sass creates, it’s still a scent I LOVE, because I love candy canes. I especially love Candy Canes when there’s no calories attached to them :P

The bar starts out hard, but when you add just a bit of water to it, it slowly softens. I actually used it on the bottoms of my feet first to get it going. I basically scrubbed it directly on my skin and slowly added more water while rubbing to get myself entirely exfoliated.

I think the reason that it did such a good job softening my skin is because of the ingredients. In addition to sugar, there’s grape seed oil, coconut oil, palm oil, castor oil, safflower oil, and goats milk.

I was sad that I’d waited this long to try one of these solid sugar scrub bars! I really liked it. I’d love to purchase this in Cuddly Blue Poodle (warm vanilla sugar with juicy blueberries and hints of coconut).

Have you tried a solid sugar scrub before? Have you tried any from Suds n’ Sass? If so, what did you think?

It was hard to resist not eating the cherry chocolate even though I knew it was NOT food!

Great review :3! I’ll wait and hear what you think of the bubble scoops, and if that’s favourable I might get a few things. I love baths now, I need to pick up some cheapish bubble bath at the supermarket to tide me over, I’ve gone through all my showergels trying to make bubbles.

I’ve not tried any sugar scrub bars from suds-n-sass but have used other ones with great results especially on my arms which tend to be rough and sensitive. It works so well because it takes the skin off and then allows the moisturizing oils straight back in – result is super smooth skin a very happy bunny!

Ooh, I love candy cane-scented stuff! I’m sensitive to smells but minty things not only smell good to me but they also clear out my sinuses a little. I’ll have to try this- when I have access to a bathtub that isn’t tiny.

Yay, they really are fantastic. This turned into an unofficial ‘review all my bath products from Suds n’ Sass week’, so more to come!
