A while back I purchased the Avon Anew Rejuvenate 24 Hour Eye Moisturizer with SPF 25. It’s a 2 in 1 eye cream. It’s kind of cute. There’s basically a ‘sun’ side with SPF, which is white and a ‘moon’ side which is kind of a light green color.

The Website Claims:

Night Eye Cream specially formulated to visibly reduce undereye puffiness and smooth the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles.
In 24 hours 70% of women saw the look of fine lines softened, shadows brightened and puffiness reduced.

Packaging:
First let me say, while I used to be neutral about jars, I now HATE jar packaging. I hate it with a passion. I have written letters to Avon about their jar packaging (as well as other companies, such as L’Oreal) and about how gross I think jars are. I hate getting product under my nails. While I love the idea and portability of a day and night cream in one jar, I hate the delivery mechanism.
Product:
The day time cream is ok, but I prefer my mark For Goodness Face Antioxidant Skin Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30, which I’ve been using on my eye area for months. It’s a higher SPF than the Anew.
The night time cream is nice. I love the feeling of it on my eyes. I feel it’s soothing.
Does it Live up to its claims?
I feel the daytime cream does protect the eyes with its SPF. It’s moisturizing. I feel the night time cream does moisturizer, but I don’t think it lives up to its claims of reducing undereye puffiness. I don’t tend to have much but I didn’t notice a signficant difference in it. Additionally, the claim that 70% of women saw the look of fine lines softened, shadows brightened, and puffiness reduced is kind of a vague claim. I think if you go from using no moisturzer to using a moisturizer, you’ll see a difference in skin.
Would I purchase again?
No. I hate the jar packaing. While I think the product is ok, I think one of the claims it makes is vague and it doesn’t live up to another of its claims, reducing puffiness. I also think it’s a tad on the expensive side.
Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

Hello Cotton
I feel the same about jar packaging, but I’ve found that using a small cosmetic spatula to scoop a bit of product and set it on the back of my non-dominant hand helps it seem less icky. I just have to remember to take the spatula with me when I travel. ^_^
Quiara recently shared..Quiara- Listening to a debate that brings all the questions of theodicy and all the pain of the world and gives no alternative balm
I think the spatula is a great idea, but the product’s ingredients will still break down more rapidly from the constant exposure to air, from what I understand.
As a science educator in training, the bit about the vague claim made me so happy! Fake science & statistics marketing nonsense annoys me to the point I don’t use beauty products (other than showering & moisturizing) every 6 months or so…

The claims like that make me shudder because you can claim that a moisturizer works 110% better if you use it right after you soak in a hot bath, because your skin has already absorbed a ton of water and all the moisturizer is doing is locking in the water absorbed.
I may not catch all of them, but when they don’t link to a study, it sounds like they’re just making stuff up.
