Faerie Peacock

Today I put together a beautiful reader request of Faerie Glamour & Bustle. It turned into a gorgeous peacock look. I’d probably do a few things different, but not much, if I tried this again. It’s visually stunning in person. I started this look out differently than normal. While I’ll often use a white or skintone type shade on the crease and browbone to make it easier to blend colors, after I did that, I did sort of a swish ~ type of shape with Knight Divine. I wanted to have a slightly darker base color to blend Faerie Glamour and Bustle onto in the crease. I love the results.

As far as Feline goes, it lasts on my upper lash line no problem. It does smudge a bit on my lower lash line, even with primer. HOWEVER, this is why I don’t put mascara on my lower lash line, because it smears there, too. I really like Feline on my upper lash line. I haven’t tried it on my waterline yet.

NC15/NW20 is a bit darker/yellower than I expected, but if I blend it out with a brush, I like the results. Apparently, it can be used for a matte highlight anywhere on the face, too.

Shade Descriptions:
Faerie Glamour – Violet base with an aqua shimmer that changes to a bright pink when closer to light
Bustle – glistening peacock teal shining with duochrome blue and green
Futuristic Glamrock – a light sky blue, sparkling with a hint of coordinating hues
Blanc Type – creamy beige (matte2)
Knight Divine – Black w/silver pearl (Veluxe Pearl)
Dazzlelight – neutral with shimmer (veluxe pearl)
Bare – light neutral pink with subtle gold pearl

Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
MAC Blanc Type – from eyebrows to edge of lid
MAC Knight Divine – in crease and to later blend out the edge of Bustle
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy – lid and crease

Meow Bustle – outer half of lid and outer half of crease
MAC Dazzlelight – inner corners of eye and on browbone to highlight
MAC Feline – upper lash line and outer lower lash line
Cover Girl Green Glow – inner 1/4 of lower lash line
Fyrinnae Futuristic Glam Rock – inner lower lash line, blended on top of Green Glow and Feline
MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20 – lower water line
Avon Glimmersticks Brow Pencil in Soft Black
Flirt! It Curls Mascara in Bombshell Black

Face:
L’Oreal Studio Secrets Perfecting Base Primer – applied to t-zone
MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural in Medium Dark – to contour cheeks
Hard Candy Welcome Matte Mattifying Powder – applied all over with fiber optic brush
Meow Purrfect Puss foundation in Inquisitive Siamese – applied lightly to t-zone with a fiber optic brush to even out skintone
Hard Candy Moon Glow Luminizer Powder – to highlight

Cheeks:
MAC Blush in Full Fuchsia

Lips:

MAC Slimshine in Bare

Step-by-Step
1. Apply eye shadow primer.
2. Apply Blanc Type from eyebrows to the top of the lid. I used an ecoTools blending brush.
3. Apply Knight Divine in the crease. I used an Urban Decay crease brush and lightly applied this.
4. Apply Pixie Epoxy on the lid and crease. I used my finger tip to spread a thin layer.
5. Apply Faerie Glamour to inner lid and inner crease. I used a Medusa lid brush.
6. Apply Bustle to the outer lid and outer crease. I used an ecoTools shade brush.
7. I then used the Urban Decay crease brush to blend out the upper edges of the crease.
8. Apply Dazzlelight to the inner corners of the eye. I used the Medusa smudge brush.
9. Apply Feline to the upper lash line.
10. Apply NC15/NW20 to lower water line.
11. Apply Feline to outer half of lower lash line.
12. Apply Green Glow to inner 1/4 of lower lash line.
13. Apply Futurustic Glam Rock to inner 3/4 of lower lash line.
14. Brush brows. Apply Soft Black to brows.
15. Apply Dazzlelight right under eyebrows. I used an ecoTools highlighter brush.
16. Apply Bombshell Black mascara.
17. Apply L’Oreal Studio Secrets Perfecting Base Primer to t-zone.
18. Apply Medium Dark Skinfinish Natural to contour from the ears downwards. I used a Meow wood grained mini-kabuki to apply a tiny amount in small circles.
19. Apply Welcome Matte lightly all over face. I used a fiber optic brush.
20. Apply Inquisitive Siamese Purrfect Puss foundation just to the t-zone to even out the skintone. I used a fiber optic brush.
21. Apply Full Fuchsia blush. I used the MAC 129 to carefully and lightly apply blush.
22. Apply Moon Glow to highlight on cheekbones. I used an ecoTools duofiber brush.
23. Apply Life’s a Breeze lip pencil to line lips.
24. Apply Bare to lips.

This is all blended so seamlessly, it’s almost hard to pick out the different colors – but it makes it even more lovely! I had to LOL that even your hair color matches this look ^.^

I have got Bustle, but is there any reasonably close match to Green Glow? As far as Faerie Glamour goes … I’m willing to bet there is no dupe for that shade. Have to pace myself, I just did a Fyrinnae order last month!

    • Phyrra December 31, 2010 at 12:42 am #

Thank you! I think using the base shade of Blanc Type and then the Knight Divine in the crease, it allowed me to blend these colors easily.

Green Glow is a pencil, but any yellow green eye shadow works.

I love this with your little hair clip and everything, so pretty! I just got Feline too, but I’ve only worn it on my waterline. Works pretty well, IMO. It’s very dark.

ARRRGH! Too much to comment on! Hm … let’s see if I get it all in …

Visually stunning and very peacock? AGREED! Gorgeous. LUV the winged-out eyeshadow. It’s a bit different for you, and DE-LISH.

Oh, there are those perfect eyebrows again. Seriously, the MOST. PERFECT. EYEBROWS. Fab.

CG Green Glow & Fyrinnae Futuristic Glam Rock on inner lower lash line, with MAC Dazzlelight on inner corners looks divine, mysterious, sexy … and a little bit naughty. (Don’t know why, but that’s what I’m seeing. It’s a good thing.)

The MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural definitely contours your cheeks, and makes the pink pop. Yum! (The 3rd pic from the bottom should be blown up to poster size and hung on a wall in your house. Or several walls. It’s that good.)

All that WITH your blue/black hair AND a peacock pin??? You’re KILLING ME!! It’s like awesome overload!

I hope you get “super complimentary” (which is my intent) from this and not “super creepy crazy woman”.

Thank you so much! I totally took ‘very complimentary’ I went with Dazzlelight because I thought it would be more subtle than Vellum, which is what I’ve been addicted to for months.

  19. Jean December 30, 2010 at 2:28 pm #

Oh, and *ahem* I meant to mention that I like the lighter waterline look on you. It’s a nice change from the black (or dark) liners. 2 thumbs up!

I have bookmarked this page. I need to do a look like this, like now!! It’s that awesome.

I LOVE the lighter waterline as compared to your usual Yeyo waterline? It’s fresh yet magically ethereal and only you can pull it off! * trots off to add Futuristic Glamrock to growing Fyrinnae list*…

    • Phyrra January 3, 2011 at 7:18 pm #

Thank you! Yes I normally use either Yeyo (white) or Zero (black) on my waterline. Futuristic Glamrock is a favorite of mine :)
