Hautelook Urban Decay

So Hautelook (affiliate link) had a $2.00 Urban Decay blowout recently and I picked up a few items. At $2 each, it was a steal. I wanted to get more brushes, but even though I tried to nab them immediately, they were all sold out.

I was able to pick up an Urban Decay crease brush, X loose eye shadow, XXX Shine Lip Glosses in Heatherette and Joyride, and Ultraglide Lip Glide in O.
X – gold with peach shift
Heatherette – shimmering beige with a touch of silver sparkle
Joyride – bright pink with silver shimmer
O – deep pink, chocolate cherry flavor

While I hate the loose shadow packaging, the color is nice. I really like the XXX Shine gloss packaging. The packaging for O seems less sturdy. I do like the colors. I LOVE the crease brush. It’s fantastic.

So for $10, this was a steal from Hautelook! Have you hauled anything great from Hautelook lately?

Products were purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

O looks pretty, but X looks a bit too loose-glittery.

I haven’t bought from Hautelook in a while … it was such a hassle the few times I did, I got bored of it. Plus, when they had their first LORAC sale, the actual LORAC website had the exact same prices … so I figured, what’s the use!

Yeah X is a loose shadow. I haven’t tried it yet, but I will hopefully soon :)

Strange that they had the same prices!

I bought from the LORAC sale they had recently, and am HUGELY impressed with what I got. It didn’t hurt that I had $10 credit from referring someone, too. It was a great haul. I looooove the texture of the eyeshadows in the Love and Money duo and it’s made me want to hunt down more LORAC eyeshadows–which is the point of putting them on Hautelook, I suppose.

      What all did you get?

I bought from HauteLook during their UD sale also and I wasn’t able to get my hands on any of their brushes. I was able to get some eye pencils and a jar of X. I agree, the packaging for X is really annoying. UD seems to be pretty famous for their inefficient packaging haha.

I love the glosses you got!

Thanks! I think they look pretty too!

I got a few things during the Pop and Pixies sale. I got all the Pop nails polishes available because i’ve heard such good things about them. I also got a gloss tin and gel liner. You really can’t beat the prices! $3 for a nailpolish that retails for $14 ! The shipping was somewhat pricey and slow…that’s my only complaint

    • Phyrra January 13, 2011 at 12:10 am #

Yeah the shipping is always $5.95 and always slow, unfortunately.

I missed the brushes too, but I do check Hautelook daily to see what they have. Pretty sure I signed up with them through you too, so thanks!

Aww you’re welcome! I check it and I try to post when I think there’s a neat sale.

There waas quite a bit I wanted to order from that sale but it wouldnt ever let me check out. I was so mad. It just kept saying there was an error. I tried over & over again & finally gave up on it.

    • Phyrra January 13, 2011 at 12:11 am #

Yeah that is sooo frustrating :(

I bought all of the loose pigments. I don’t like the brush, but I find if you take the cap/brush off you set it aside (with the brush sticking up it won’t make a mess) there is enough of an opening to use your own brush to grab the pigment. Still annoying, but a little better.

    • Phyrra January 13, 2011 at 12:11 am #

Yeah that’s what I’ve done. I take a small brush and use it inside with the grey one I have.

I’m a huge fan of Hautelook. I’ve scored great deals on Ouidad haircare, Stila cosmetics, POP cosmetics (looove the eyeshadow trios) and Tarte cosmetics. I was going to pick up the UD matte shadows last sale, but was lacking money and storage area for anything else, lol

I have several of the UD mattes. They’re nice ;) so definitely worth it next time you can nab them.

I snagged a bunch of the pigments, and Gash lip gloss. I’m still trying to find a way to depot it without a lot of pigment staying in the bottom. I really can’t imagine paying more than 2-5$ for any of them. I emptied the one I got at sephora for $5 into a container and there’s not even enough to fill a sample jar!

Oh wow! I didn’t realize how tiny they were.

I actually got all the same items as you, well except the brush – no luck on those for me either, and I already own Heatherette, so I didn’t purchase another. I also got a few other loose pigments as well.
I love X, I’m on my 2nd pan of the eyeshadow (which is almost unheard of for me, considering how much makeup I own), and in comparing the pan shadow with the loose I can tell you that the color is spot on, but the loose pigment has a bit more sparkle. I also don’t use the brush on the cap, I find it applies better with my own brush. Can’t beat $2 UD, right?

It’s good that they’re so close!

  11. Tempest January 12, 2011 at 1:18 pm #

Raawr, you got my crease brush! I got 4 colored mascaras (Flipside, Indigo, Black Cherry, & Electric Blue; completely awesome), a Smoke Out pencil in Green Goddess (ok but not worth the normal price imo), and Ink for Eyes in Pyrotechnics (beautiful packaging, but the gel liner itself reminds me of cheap Halloween makeup). I’m not one to automatically drool over prestige cosmetics, but I’ll try almost anything for $2 a pop!

I like the mascaras! I didn’t try the gel liner because I remember reading mixed reviews about it.

Admittedly, I went a little nuts with that sale. But, UD anything for $2 is a deal I can’t ignore!! I got some loose pigments, eyeliners, colored mascaras, and the matte eyeshadows, and while I haven’t worked my way through everything yet, what I have used, I liked (except the packaging for the pigments, yuck!). I had no luck getting any of the brushes though- actually watched the “sold out” or “on hold” images pop up on them in front of my eyes :(

    • Phyrra January 13, 2011 at 12:14 am #

Yep $2 is a great deal.

  13. Leah January 12, 2011 at 2:32 pm #

I wasn’t able to pick up any of the brushes but I got a few of the xxx shines and ultraglides. The packaging for the ultraglides is pretty flimsy but I really love the gloss. Too bad they’re being dc’d.

    • Phyrra January 13, 2011 at 12:14 am #

I wonder if the same colors will be continued in another format.

  14. Solstice Scents January 12, 2011 at 2:58 pm #

I got a few things from the HL sale as well! A green eyeliner, 2 colored mascaras and 2 of the pyrotechnics smoke out eyes. I don’t care for the pyrotechnics at all…doesn’t really do anything. I purchased one for a friend along with the blue mascara for her (which she says she likes). I got the black cherry mascara and didn’t think it did much for me, but I’ll try it again. I do love the color of the eyeliner though!

    • Phyrra January 13, 2011 at 12:14 am #

The mascaras are really pretty, I think!

  15. Shey January 12, 2011 at 11:11 pm #

Isn’t the loose eyeshadow super messy to use?

    • Phyrra January 13, 2011 at 12:15 am #

Yep. The way I’ve been using the grey one is to open the top, set it upside down (like someone else suggested) and either stick my brush into the container or run my brush along the built in brush.

  16. Samus January 15, 2011 at 6:43 am #

    Hi,

I got the same brush and the Joyride gloss, I love the minty flavor. I also got a bunch of the pigments which i really like, especially the grafftit green, it doesn’t stain like most green pigments. I also got the gems, 2 sets, since I love putting on rhinstones when i got out. The gems also came with tubes of glue, which you can use for many things, totally worth 2 bucks. btw I love your new haircut, short is always better!

    • Phyrra January 16, 2011 at 12:05 pm #

Ooh I should have got some of the gems! They sound awesome. Glad you like the hair!
