Jason Natural Ester-C Lotion Antioxidant Regenerating Moisturizer Review

As you all know, I’ve been on the hunt for a perfect night time moisturizer for me. Is it possible I’ve found one? I’ve been using Jason Natural’s Ester-C Lotion.

The Website Claims:
Jason Ester-C Lotion combines the antioxidant, collagen-stimulating benefits of Ester-C with the cell-renewing qualities of Vitamin E to help reverse sun damage and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Paraben Free.

This product is cruelty free, from the research I did online.

The Ingredients are:
Purified Water, Vegetable Glycerin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Ester-C Calcium Ascorbate, Ester-C Sorbitol and Glycerin and Calcium Ascorbate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Gel, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Alpha-Bisabolol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Thioctic Acid (Alpha Lipoic Acid), Dimethicone, Vegetable Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Stearyl Alcohol, Carbomer, Potassium Hydroxide, Benzyl Alcohol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Fragrance Oil Blend

Price:
$9.39 for 4 fl. oz.

Does it live up to its claims?
While I can’t speak to it reducing the appearance of fine lines, I can say that it is does seem to be a fantastic moisturizer. I’ve been using it as my night time moisturizer and I really like it. The biggest (only) complaint I have with it is the smell. I don’t like the smell of the product. The moisturizer absorbs into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily.

Would I purchase it again?
It’s the best night time moisturizer that I’ve found, but the smell is pretty awful. At its best, it smells floral. At its worst it smells like wet cat pee.  I do like the price and I think the ingredients are really good. The smell is REALLY awful but I do like how it makes my skin feel. I might purchase it again.

How about you? Have you tried any Jason Natural products? How about the Ester-C Lotion?

Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

I’ve tried the eye serum and I think the smell bothered me too. Sometimes I’ll add some sweet orange EO to mask a smell I don’t like. I might tru this…if I can get past the smell. :D

Sounds interesting- and what a great price! Bummer about the scent though- do you find it lingers? I’d be wary about adding anything, since the vitamin C in this is can be hard to stabilize (which is why the opaque, pump packaging is so important.) Like Madiha said- I suppose you have to balance out the scent w/ the product benefits!

The smell lingers. It REALLY lingers. Yeah I need to weigh out if a good product for a reasonable price with a bad smell is worth it :/ Sometimes only Phaedra will sleep near me when I’m using it.

I’ve heard on various blogs and review sites that this lotion is the same as the “Regenerating Antioxidant Moisturizing Face Lotion” from the Trader Joe’s “Spa” line, and I happen to own that. I ran to compare the ingredients just now, and I see they’re in a different order but very much the same. I LOVE the TJ’s version (and it’s only $4 or $5 for a 4oz bottle) but sadly, it also has a REALLY nasty smell. Citrusy and sweet, but overly so- thankfully, it disappears after a few minutes, otherwise I’d have tossed it. I wonder if that’s something to do with the ingredients, because no WAY did TJ’s duplicate the Jason formula and then add that same nasty smell on PURPOSE! :P

I also HIGHLY recommend this, if you’re looking for a lightweight nighttime lotion: http://www.drugstore.com/qxp309121/c__booth/derma_c_24_anti_oxidant_oil_free_daily_moisturizer.htm

It is SO nice, not at all greasy, but very very moisturizing. Just, get a pump bottle to put it in because it comes in a stupid jar.

This smells floral more than citrusy, and when it smells bad, it smells like… there are trees here in florida when they get wet that smell like wet cat pee, and it smells like those trees. Yuck.

I wish this smelled more citrusy, less floral.

Oranges wouldn’t bother me. I like citrus. But this smell is not orange :(

Bummer about the smell… Did you try applying a little bit of good smelling oil or something directly under your nostrils, it might keep the nasty at bay long enough to fall asleep. I often do this with lavender oil because I have trouble sleeping at times, but perhaps you can use it like a nasty smell repellent too.

No, but that’s a fab idea!
