Psyche Minerals Review

Before Christmas I was contacted by Molly of Psyche Minerals to check out her company. She sent me some PR samples and I was able to play! Her site is on Etsy, so navigation is easy and purchase is a snap. Full sizes are $3 and samples are $1.50. Samples are 1/4 a teaspoon in a plastic bag, while full sizes are in a clear 3 gram jar that gets filled up to where the threads start.

Here are the lovely products. Molly takes the time to package them with a custom note and they’re inside organza bags.

All of the jars of color I received were clearly labeled. They came in clear 3 gram jars.

Color Descriptions:
Zoma is a beautiful bronze tinged sepia with green and red glitter.
Coatal is a beautiful shimmery raw sienna with red glitter.
Ultraviolet Rhapsody is a beautiful cool toned purple based mineral shadow with a blue sheen and sparkle.
Durran is a lavender with blue sparkle.
Posidon’s Rage is a beautiful slightly tealed blue based mineral shadow with a wonderful shimmer and silver sparkle.
Zap Bird is a fantastic darkened periwinkle mineral shadow with a purple sheen.
Slime is a vivid aqua blue with fuchsia glitter.

I LOVE Slime! Slime is such an intense, pigmented aqua blue and the fuchsia glitter makes it so cute.

Ultraviolet Rhapsody is really pretty and its duochrome nature really draws my attention. Coatal is a rich and complex brown with hints of red and green glitter.

One of the things that I like about Psyche Minerals is that the colors have a geek theme with their names. You can find Star Trek references and Dragon Warrior references in the names, which I find cool. In fact, she’s going to be doing an entire Monster Rancher themed collection!

The ingredients are clearly listed for each eye shadow color in their individual listing.
For example, Ultraviolet Rhapsody’s listing is as follows.
Ingredients: mica, titanium dioxide, tin oxide, iron oxide, calcium, aluminum borosilicate, silica, caranuba wax

Would I purchase from Psyche Minerals?
Yes! Her prices are reasonable, her ingredients are good, and she’s got some lovely colors to start. I like her themes for naming colors and collections. The gamer inside me squees over a Monster Rancher collection.

The color Slime really is beautiful. The name makes me smile because of the Dragon Warrior reference and the color is just so neat.

Have you tried Psyche Minerals? What do you think of this new company?

Edit: I forgot to include shipping in my review so I wanted to go back and add it in. Shipping is $2 for the first item and it lists .75 cents for each additional item. However the listing also states that you will be refunded any overage of shipping costs via PayPal.

PR samples were sent for consideration. All opinions are my own.
