Recently I had the opportunity to try out a new company, Vicious Cosmetics. Vicious Cosmetics is an indie company based in Pensacola, Florida. The owner is a licensed cosmetologist with an interest in marine biology. They opened in late August of 2010. Most of the colors are vegan and they’re all custom blended.
Shade Descriptions:
Aqua-holic – a matte teal loaded with aqua glitter
Mithril – a dirtied silver-gold
Strawberry Soda – a true bubblegum sugary pink
Bast – a deep, rich blue toned purple that is loaded with copper glitter
Vapor – a gorgeous bright blue that rubs down with a stunning, surprising green sheen
Oxidize – a deep, funky matte green base that rubs down with a bright, metallic, green-gold sheen
Strawberry Soda is a really pretty bright pink. Oxidize looks similar to but is lighter than Taurus Orion. When I asked Jesse, the owner of the company about Oxidize, she said that she mixes several different shades to make the color. Vapor doesn’t match Capricorn Sea or Indian blue, and is entirely beautiful. Mithril is gorgeous! Bast is pretty. I am totally in love with Aqua-holic!
To be clear, Taurus Orion, Strawberry Pop, Raspberry Pop, Capricorn Sea and Indian Blue are all TKB Micas. I swatched the TKB colors next to the Vicious colors since people tend to ask me how close X color is to TKB color Y.
Wearing Aqua-Holic! on the lid and crease.
Price:
$5 for a 5 gram jar with about 2 gram of product, .99 cents for 3 samples that are .2 to .3 grams
The shop is on Etsy, so shopping is easy. Shipping is .80 cents for an order of samples, while a 5 gram jar ships for $2.50. Jesse also says that she refunds if the shipping amount is way over what Etsy charges.
The ingredients are not currently listed on Etsy, but they will be added. They were in some of the product listings, but not all. The full size jars do not have the ingredients listed. However, they do come shrink wrapped.
The samples come in the little clamshells, which I hate. I can’t use those without spillage. There are some colors that contain a mineral that is not approved by the USA FDA for use around the eye. This mineral is used in EU cosmetics. However, these shadows are clearly marked marked as novelty. I would avoid those shadows, because I have sensitive eyes. There are other colors that look great, and she even has a TRON trio of shadows.
Would I purchase from Vicious Cosmetics?
No. While the company owner was courteous to me and I liked her products, there has been some concern about how personal information was handled, and the evidence I saw made me uncomfortable.
PR samples were sent for consideration. Full size was purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

I love the fact that one is named Mithril…huge LOTR nerd….And it is gorgeous!
Yeah it is cool!
I really like Raspberry Pop and Strawberry Pop. I checked out the etsy store and Lackadaisical is such a pretty lavender shade.

Bast is beautiful!
O my, all these colors are so beautiful! Especially the greens. It is a good thing that I am completely broke because I would really want them all… Unfortunately I am not really good at creating make-up looks yet. It never ends up quite as good on my face at is in my mind’s eye, especially with pigments, so I spend a lot of time removing my disasters from my eyes (and cheeks…) again and again. Lots of practicing to be done. But I just want to paint entire landscapes with these gorgeous colors, I can say all sorts of beautiful pictures already!
Aww, glad you like the pictures!
The only color I’d buy is aqua holic… oxidize looks wwaayy too similar to the tkb shade, and Vapor looks like a color I have from tkb… like dead on.
I’d have to get the full size since I have a hatred for clamshell packaging too..
Thanks for the post !

Oxidize is lighter than Taurus Orion. Aqua-holic is awesome. From the TKB micas I had, I didn’t have a match.
Aren’t half of those names the exact names from tkb micas? Like Capricorn Sea, which I own and looks exactly like that…:|
Rapsberry Pop, Strawberry Pop, Taurus Orion, Capricorn Sea and Indian Blue are all TKB Micas. I swatched them next to the colors from Vicious Cosmetics because people often ask me how close X color is to TKB color Y.
Wow, I feel stupid now haha! I guess I’m just too fast to suspect any new mineral company of repackaging. I should read closer the next time…
No no! Don’t feel bad! I just get that question a lot about repackaging.
Wow, I’ve got to get my hands on Oxidize, what a cool shade.
