Recently I purchased from a new company, Black Rose Minerals. I purchased the sample jar 6 pack and I also received some free samples.
Shade Descriptions:
Peacocky – a rich, glittery blue and green shade
Alice – a mixed blue with massive amounts of aqua and teal glitter, sheer duotone when worn dry
Midnight Blue – a matte mediterranean blue
Doll Face – brigt hot popping pink verging on magenta
Dusty Trails – lustrous sandy sheen with a hint of pink
Mome Rath – shocking violet with magenta undertones
Carmel Crush – a simple caramel brown
Confused – a sheer neutral with violet gold green or blue
Daft – violet shade
Lemon Bar – shiny golden yellow
Lioness – light golden beige with a bit of shimmer
The colors are nicely pigmented and have a good texture. I really love Alice, as it’s a pretty blue with visible teal shimmer. Mome Rath is an intense violet-magenta and I love it. Midnight Blue is a nearly matte shade but it’s got a good finish. I love the finish on Dusty Trails, Lioness and Carmel Crush.

The ingredients for each eye shadow are listed in each listing on the website. The website is a bit slow to navigate, but it’s not unmanageable. The shadows have some really great names, such as Blade Runner, Firefly, and Mome Rath (coz who doesn’t love a jabberwocky reference?).

Would I purchase from Black Rose again?
Yes. I liked the colors that I purchased. The pigmentation was good, the shipping was quick and the pricing is nice. I definitely feel that these are custom made colors and that they’re pretty.

I just looked at the site and, I hate to say it, but the red background and black text makes it REALLY hard for me to read. I know it’s visually distinctive from other sites, but it’s hard for me to browse at my leisure when my eyes keep going crossed.

Yes at the moment we are only making shadows. I plan to expand into lip gloss, lipstick, blush and nail polish in the future.
