Does it live up to its claims?
Yes. It’s a really nice tinted balm. The tint is sheer. When I say sheer, I mean you can barely see a tint of pink on my lips, or on my skin for that matter. It’s very moisturizing and feels good on my lips, and I love the fact that it has SPF 15. I normally moisturize my lips before applying lipstick or lipgloss, and I like being able to use a safe SPF product on my lips. So this definitely has a place in my daily beauty routine.

Would I purchase again?
Yes! I like the color I purchased. I loved how my lips felt after I applied it and I love the SPF. It makes a great moisturizing base before applying lipsticks.

Have you tried the new Covergirl NatureLuxe line? What about these balms? If so, what did you think?

Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

I have tried this balm. I think the color I have is called Clay. Its ok. Probably not something I’d buy again. The SPF is nice. But it really doesn’t provide much color. I’ll probably just stick to my other lip balms I like better.

      • Phyrra

I mostly bought it for the SPF 15 and you’re right. You can BARELY see any color on my lips. I do like the moisturizing factor, as it feels pretty good.

All of the gloss balms are really different. Some are sheer, but others (such as Peony) are actually very pigmented. My favorite so far is Hibiscus :-)

      • Phyrra

Oooh what color is Hibiscus? I’ve taken to putting this on every morning after I brush my teeth, before my lipstick or lipgloss, so that my lips are protected from the sun :)

        • Tracey

Hibiscus is one of those “my lips, but better” type shades (it is on me, anyway). Like a lighter medium pink maybe? Haha, I’m bad at this >.<

Also, I forgot to mention that people should be very careful when buying these. There's no tamper-evident seal on them (wtf CG), and if you look closely at them in the store, you'll find that many have been used and put back on the shelf.

            Sounds like an awesome shade!

I have these in 3 colors (Amenome, Sandstone, and Cinnamon). I love them! I think it depends on the shade you get because I get more than a tint, but of course not as solid as a lipstick.

      • Phyrra

I honestly don’t mind it being sheer/colorless, because I like it for the moisturizing effect and the SPF 15. What shade is your favorite?

        • http://kimandbe.blogspot.com anklebytr

My favorite is the Anemone!! I LOVE reds, but solid bright red lipsticks are just too vibrant, especially for my conservative workplace! But the Anemone is the perfect bright sheer red for me (I’m horrible at describing colors). Other red tints are either too burgundy, dull, brownish, etc. I wanted a bright, corally/orange red. And as you said in your review, the SPF and the moisturizing effect is great, so that’s an awesome added bonus for me!

I’ll have to go check out Anemone :)
