A while back I purchased e.l.f. Studio Matte lip color in Coral. I liked the fact that it seemed to be a pencil/lipstick in one, claimed to be matte and was a fresh color for spring.

The Ingredients are:
Dimethicone, Polysynlane, Mineral Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Polyethylene, Cerifera (Carnauba)Wax. Silica, Mica, Methylparaben, Tocopherol Acetate (VE), Retinyl Palmitate (VA), Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (VC), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491 CI 77492 CI 77499), Blue 1 Lake(CI 42090), Red No.6 Lake (CI 15850), Red No.27 Lake (CI 45410)

Does it live up to its claims?
Well the color does apply easily with the pencil tip, it’s not drying, and it lasts fairly well on my lips. e.l.f. is quite sharp in not specifying how long it would last, just that it’s long wearing. I do like the soft coral color that I chose. I feel like it’s a nice alternative to lipliner and lipstick. Also, I like the matte finish.
Would I purchase again?
Yes. I liked the shade I purchased, Coral, as it’s perfect for spring. At $3, it’s pretty inexpensive and worthwhile if you want to experiment with a matte texture on the lips.

We don’t have these in the UK version yet (which is much more expensive of course grump grump) but I’ll definately check them out when they get here! I love matte lipsticks and it looks lovely on you

That looks realy lovely on you, Phyrra! I might have to check these out, I am liking matte lips right now and this colour seems really nice! I haaaate the silly price difference on the e.l.f things, though. The Studio is £3.50 as opposed to $3… er, how does that work?!

It’s a lovely nude/coral color, but it doesn’t look matte at all. In fact, it looks creamy in your photos. Is it due to the flash?
The full face pic is more what it looks like. I think it looks creamy due to the flash, but it’s definitely on the creamy/matte side of things as opposed to shiny.

Grr, we havent got these in the UK yet. The people who sell in the UK are just distributors,not actually ELF themselves, hence why we dont get the big discounts or ALL the stock.

Ohh, this could be a dupe for nyx’s new matte lipstick/lipgloss thingy . I checked them out at Ulta, the colors are super nice but the smell of them, :/ its like a sugar french vanilla (I hate fake vanilla smell, real vanilla is expensive but smells amazing). I’m excited about this but had a bad experience with shipping from elf, so I hope they put them in store (but kinda doubt it :/). Maybe if they have a good free shipping coupon or something I’ll get it.
