Laura Geller Baked Eye Shadows Review

I purchased the Laura Gellar Baked Vanilla Nudes collection a while ago from QVC. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the foundation, blush and eye shadow, so I ended up picking up a few more of the LG eye shadows.

Shade Descriptions:
Vanilla Toffee – a shimmery caramel
Black Cherry – a black-cherry bronze
Blue Heaven – light blue, violet, sea foam green, black
Spumoni - a warm beige-pink
Sinful Praline – light brown with charcoal swirls
Macchiato – bronze with gold and copper swirls
Fruit Tart – olive green gold

The Website Claims:
The eye shadow and liner duo starts as a swirl of liquid pigments that are poured onto terracotta pans and baked for 24 hours. The result is an extremely fine powder that’s silky smooth to the touch, with a dewy fresh look that adapts perfectly to each individual complexion. Easy and goof-proof, this eye shadow and liner glide on with a fluidity that creates a smooth, flawless line.

Blue Heaven

Does it live up to its claims?
Yes. I think these are truly gorgeous. The baking really does impart a smooth, pigmented, multidimensional color that I thought was only available in loose mineral eye shadows. I could not get over how gorgeous Vanilla Toffee and Black Cherry turned out when worn, nor how beautiful Blue Heaven and Sinful Praline & In Spumoni are. I also really love Fruit Tart. Macchiato is nice.

Vanilla Toffee & Black Cherry

Would I purchase again?
Yes! I absolutely love the way one of these eye shadows can give such a gorgeous, multi-dimensional look. They’re very smooth, pigmented, silky and long wearing. I truly had no idea I’d love these so much and I’m glad I was finally turned on to Laura Geller.

Have you tried the Laura Geller baked eye shadows? If so, what did you think of them?

Products purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

I bought the same set and loved everything that was included. I love to put the balance n brighten over my tinted moisturizer for more coverage and the eyeshadow makes such a perfect everyday look that I find myself reaching for it on a regular bases. I will be looking for Laura Gelllar to indulge in. Great review.

    Hey!
Thx for the swatches. Were those applied wet? Thanks.

    • Phyrra April 29, 2011 at 11:18 pm #

No, they were applied on top of eye shadow primer. They’re very pigmented.
