L’Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick Review

Recently I purchased some of the new L’Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick to try out. These should not to be confused with their two-step long wearing lipstick.

The Website Claims:

True color payoff

421 – Charismatic Coral – rich true coral
121 – Perennial Pink – shimmery pink, leaning cool

Price:
$9.99 for .09 oz / 2.5 g (though you can get these as buy 1 get 1 free or buy 1 get 1 50% off, which I did.)

Does it live up to its claims?
Well, my wear with these has been all over the place. The three colors I purchased are very true to color. I really like all three. The lipstick formula feels a bit odd. It doesn’t feel drying to me at all like other long-wearing lipcolors have in the past, but it does feel like it’s on my lips. Some days I’ve gotten really good wear, around 6 or so hours out of it. Other days I’ve gotten less wear. A lot of it has to do with how much I remember I have lipstick on when I’m eating and drinking. I tend to always have water or a cherry coke zero by me throughout the day to sip on. I do feel like L’Oreal kind of hedged their bets with the phrase ‘lasts up to 10 hours’ so it can mean any time in between. I guess I do feel like these 3 lipsticks live up to their claims on me.

I did some comparison swatches next to other colors.
For Perennial Pink, I swatched MAC Snob, Urban Decay Naked, Avon Golden Rose (finally found this one! it was lost in a purse), and Revlon Matte Pink Pout.
For Charismatic Coral, I swatched Urban Decay 5150, MAC Vegas Volt, Revlon Matte Pink About It and Revlon Matte Strawberry Suede.
For Forever Fuschia (it bugs me they spelled it like this instead of Fuchsia), I swatched Urban Decay Jilted, Urban Decay Trainwreck, MAC Show Orchid and Morgana Cryptoria Azalea Blue.

To me, Charismatic Coral and 5150 look similar in color, though 5150 has more sparkles in it and I think it’s a bit more sheer. I think Snob was the closest to Perennial Pink, though Snob is darker. Jilted and Azalea Blue were closest to Forever Fuschia, Show Orchid was slightly lighter and Trainwreck was more magenta/darker.

Would I purchase again?
Maybe. I have the 3 colors I’m most likely to wear. I’d probably purchase again if there was another Buy 1 Get 1 Free or Buy 1 Get 1 50% off and there were other colors I wanted to try, but I wouldn’t pay full price again. The other colors I’m curious about are Blazing Sangria, Always Apricot, and Opulent Organza. Unfortunately, the L’Oreal website swatches suck, so it’s really hard to tell if those colors would work for me or not. Additionally, it’s a really tough sell to me to purchase these lipsticks at full price when I can purchase Morgana’s lipsticks for around the same price. These seem high for a drugstore brand.

Products purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

None of these really pops out at me. Thanks for the review! I probably would’ve picked up Forever Fuchsia, but it looks SO much like Jilted

It really does look like Jilted, so if you don’t have Jilted it’s a less expensive lipstick (the $5 or $8 vs $22)

I have Perpetual Peach and Rambling Rose- I really like them. I was actually kinda suprised, because I’m not a huge lip stick fan. At Walmart these run $8 and some change, so they’re just a fuzz cheaper than CVS. Also, have you noticed how there is less product in the tube than the average lipstick? For example, a Nyx Round lip stick has 4 grams of product, and this one only has 2.5.

Yeah, that’s why I always try to list the product size next to the price.
I saw these for around $8 at target. Not sure why other places are selling them for $10, but buying them at $5 each wasn’t bad.

      How deep is the peach?
