CandyLens.Com & Geo Angel Circle Lenses – Review

Last month I was contacted by CandyLens.com to see if I’d be interested in trying out and reviewing some of their circle lenses. After checking out their site, I told them sure! They have a large variety of circle lenses, plus they also carry BB Creams!

After checking out their offerings, I finally settled on 3 lenses. Geo Angel Violet, Geo Angel Grey and Geo Angel Blue. It was a bit difficult to navigate the site and determine which lenses were offered in prescription and which were not. I gave the nice people at CandyLens feedback about that, as it can be a bit frustrating to click on some really cool looking lenses, only to find out they’re only offered in plano (no prescription). As my prescription has changed from the last time I wore circle lenses (which caused me to get rid of my old ones), I now wear -8.5 in the right eye and -9.5 in the left eye. I had to make sure that whatever lenses I tried were of the right strength and curve. My curve is 8.6 and my current lenses are 14.2 in diameter.

The Geo Angel line is very comfortable to wear. They’re smaller in diameter than my everyday since they’re 14, but I’ve been comfortably wearing 14.0 to 14.2 diameter lenses daily for over 15 years. The water content in these lenses is 38%. Now, I’ve been spoiled by the contacts that I switched to in late October 2010, the Ciba Air Optix Aqua. They’re the most comfortable lenses I’ve ever worn because of their new technology, so any other lens won’t feel as comfortable in my eyes any more. That said, I could easily wear these lenses 4 to 6 hours each. After 5 to 6 hours, my eyes just started to feel dry, but not sore. Since the diameter on these lenses are normal as opposed to super huge, and they have a nice water content that matches my old contacts, I think that’s why they felt so comfortable for so long.

Each contact was packaged in an individual glass vial filled with fluid. Once I took off the top and the seal on each vial, I put each set of contacts into a Ciba Vision Clear Care Case, which is what I use for all of my contacts. I then put the contacts into cleaning solution for 24 hours before I attempted to wear them.

Navigating and ordering from the CandyLens site was fairly easy because they have all lenses organized by color groups, brands and types. Like I mentioned before, the only difficulty I had was with telling which lenses were plano and which were offered in prescription. Each set of contacts comes with a free cute animal case (which a friend of mine decided the cute animals MUST go home with her :> ). Shipping costs are listed on the site, along with a shipping estimator. The order I received arrived very fast via FedEx. I seriously think it arrived within 3 days. FedEx is probably going to be around $25 or so. Now, Registered Air Mail will be much slower, but I think it will end up being around $6 or so.

Ok now on to the contacts!

Geo Angel Violet

I think the Geo Angel Violet is really cute. These are $19.90 for a pair. They go from plano (0) up to -10.00, which is a really great range for contacts.

Geo Angel Grey

The Geo Angel Grey may be Ray’s favorite pair of the bunch. It’s also $19.90 per pair and the range is 0 to -10.00 like the Violet.

Geo Angel Blue

The Geo Angel Blue may be my favorite, if only for how vivid it is in color. It is also $19.90 per pair and goes up to -10.00 for prescription.

Possibly because my eyes are blue-green (and lighter than the brown eye color that circle lenses were originally made for)  but I felt like the lenses were really nicely pigmented.

Would I order from CandyLens?
Absolutely! CandyLens has great prices on Circle Lenses. They’ve also got some other really cute lashes and BB Creams. I love the variety of lenses that they offer. Their FedEx expedited shipping is REALLY fast. The lenses I tried were very comfortable to wear and I found them to be really pretty. I definitely recommend checking out the Geo Angel line of lenses if you’re looking for comfortable and pretty circle lenses.

These look absolutely amazing. I was just looking at that dark peacock look you did. Now I just have to search the net for brown eyes wearing these specific lenses to make sure they look as nice on. <3

The CandyLens site does have pictures of people with brown eyes wearing them and they’re made for dark eyes, but I think they work well on light eyes too.

I want to know what eye look you’re doing with the Geo Angel Blue. It’s fabulous!

      • Phyrra

It’s coming up soon :) It’s Persephone Minerals.

      Woah! Those are amazing!

I wore contacts for a couple of months but I couldn’t handle them. I have bad astigmatism and they floated around on my eyes so much that eventually I just went back and got glasses.

I, much as I’d love them, I couldn’t do these. It sucks.

      • Phyrra

Eek, if you have an astigmatism you need a special type of lens, I think they’re called toric. Or else they’ll float around. That’s no fun.

    • Kira

Intense! That’s like being able to put eyeshadow on your actual eye :D

      • Phyrra

Hehe, yeah, colored contacts can be so cool.

I’m excited about the Persephone review now. Love your new hair! What the heck is BB cream?

      • Phyrra

BB Creme is an asian product that’s like an all in one product that’s highly moisturizing, some contain SPF, most are acne fighting and contain anti-aging ingredients and they conceal. They’re really uber.

I quite like circle lens myself and I used to wear the Angel Brown. It is great for making my eyes like bigger and rounder and to change up my look. I agree that these cosmetic lens dry out faster (max 5-6 hours) versus my regular O2PTIXS (12-14 hours). Haven’t been to your site in a while, you look fabulous blonde :).

      • Phyrra

        Thanks Bellakoola!

I like the violet ones! I remember when colored contacts first came out and I couldn’t wait to have purple eyes. Do the contacts affect your vision at all? I’ve worn colored contacts from two brands, but they made everything sort of hazy and not as clear as regular contacts so I had to give up on them:(

      • Phyrra

My red ones (not pictured here) affected my vision, but these do not.

Ohhh, you are so colorful! From the hair, the lens, eyelid colors, and the lips….. Gorgeous!

I got the purple and they were not as pigmented as the ones I used to wear that were prescription lenses. However, I got some deep blue and they are awesome. I have light brown eyes with some green around my iris. I still love wearing color contacts even though I’ve had Lasik. It’s just fun to change eye color. I love the blue on you, Phyrra!

      • Phyrra

        Thanks Kimberly :)

Which site do you prefer? candylens.com or pinkyparadise.com?

      • Phyrra

They’re both good. I’ve received orders from both with no issue.
