Recently I purchased the Bare Escentuals Buxom Stay-There Eye Shadow Palette from Sephora.

The moment I saw Terrier, it was love at first sight. I mean, it’s a gorgeous violet shade. What’s not to love? Pekingese is a pretty blue-teal shade. It layers really nicely over Terrier. Whippet is a pretty icey gold that works as an all over wash of color or a brow highlight. Even Mutt is gorgeous, as it’s a bronzed gold taupe type shade.

Does it live up to its claims?
For me, no. I tried these both with and without primer, and for whatever reason the texture just creased like crazy in my crease. It works well on any non-mobile part of my eye, but couldn’t withstand any place that had movement. I was deeply disappointed as I loved all four colors. These creased on me without primer in about 20 minutes. With primer, it took about 40 minutes.
Would I purchase again?
No. I had hoped the formula would be like MAC paint pots on me, but unfortunately they are not. I really wish I could figure out how to use these so they don’t crease in my crease. This set is a great value for the price if you don’t have oily lids and the product won’t crease on you. Unfortunately I am just not in that category.
Have you tried the Buxom Stay-There eye shadows? If so, how did they work for you?
Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

Hello Cotton
That’s pretty disappointing that they claim to stay-put but still managed to crease… and crease *quickly*! Have you tried Benefit Creaseless Cream eyeshadows? I don’t know how they do it, but those eyeshadows are amazing as they will only begin to slightly crease at the end of the day… after having been applied early in the morning!
I think I was sent a Benefit to review and it was fine.
MAC Paint Pots, Indelibles and UD’s Shadow Pencils are my favs.
Like the whipped affect
I haven’t tried these, but I was interested in the lime green one. I never bought it because I never use MAC paint pots I just use TFSI, and if I want a more intense look I use my shadows wet. I may have to pass since products like to crease on me.. boo..
Thanks for the swatches

You’re welcome! I was just sad over the creasing
I’ve only heard bad things about the Buxom Stay-There shadows unfortunately (creasing) Makes me sad because I love the doggie theme. I’ve stayed away from them for that reason. Then again I did a the Benefit Creaseless shadow (forget the color) and also had awful time with that one. I don’t have oily lids, but cream shadows and I don’t get along I guess.

I LOVE the dog theme, too. I just wish they’d work for me.
Check out a website called Mineral Madness. It’s a Bare Minerals supported fan site.. someone there might have some excellent suggestions to help with the creasing issue. I know lots of ladies who’ve had good luck with them.
Thank you for the suggestion Kerry!
Want. Stay There shadows don’t crease on me, so that particular aspect won’t be a problem.
GAH! I love and hate reading your blog, because you always, always have the most amazing stuff. On the one hand, I enjoy it, on the other, I wind up spending so much money! xD

The colors are GREAT! I feel your pain on the money
I reviewed them months back, and had similar problems as you. It was actually WORSE for me. With primer, I lasted about a half hour without creasing. Without primer, I couldn’t get a full-face of makeup in place without it creasing! And it slid right off the smoother areas of my lid. It was TERRIBLE.
I know one of the sephora girls at my local store was SHOCKED by it, because she wears them daily(Seriously. Every time I see her she’s in one of the more unique ones, like Shih Tzu) and hasn’t had a single issue with the wear!
Ah well, Your Mileage May Vary.

Yeah I always wonder why things will work with some body chemistry and not others. Still, they’re really pretty.
These look a bit too sheer. To bad they creases, they do look like nice colors

They are pretty Vesna!
What a bummer they didn’t work for you! I also have this set, and a few other pups, and I LOVE them.
I find them much lighter than paintpots, with a more sheer texture.
They also work fantastically well over a mineral shadow in a similar shade…
Sorry they didn’t work
BTW LOVING the new hair!
Thank You!
@veensa and all…actually they can be sheer OR intense, it just depends on how you apply them
What a shame, the colors are so pretty. I haven’t met a product by Buxom/Bare Minerals that I care for yet. I just ordered a mini Buxom lash so we’ll see how that works /fingers crossed!
I really liked the Buxom Mascara, The Buxom Lip Sticks and the Buxom Glosses. So these were a surprise disappointment.
that’s terrible they crease so fast for you. I cant use just any cream shadow either. The only ones that work for me are the MUFE aqua creams and just recently, LORAC on screen duo shadow/liner (although the MUFE has better staying power). Even with powder shadow, if I dont have TFSI, UDPP or NYX HD primer underneath, i might as well forget it.
The MUFE Aqua Creams are great! And yeah I always have to wear primer. I feel ya!
How sad to have such lovely colors fail.

OH goodness. They sure are preety in the pot, but looks like they are doomed to crease horribly

I think they just don’t work with my body chemistry
but they are pretty!
I am so glad I read this. I was at Sephora tonight picking up MUFE #12 Auqa Cream and Benefit’s Tattle Tale (I wanted EL’s Buttercream and Silver Star, but both are sold out/gone, dammit) and my friend working at Sephora asked me if I’d tried the Buxom Stay There shadows. I haven’t, but I was tempted. Now I’m glad I didn’t.

I’m sure they could be built up but they just didn’t work for me.
What a shame that they crease so much, the colors look lovely.

I totally agree, Roxcat
You’re not alone – I had the exact same problem when I tried them! I purchased Mutt a few months ago, and it never stayed on, even with primer. Such a shame, because they’re really pretty.
Aww, that sucks
That’s a shame that they creased on you as I love the colours too and the names are just adorable! Creasing is always an issue for me with cream shadows too (Even mac paint pots I have trouble with!)

Aww, Usually the MAC ones don’t crease on me,but it sucks when things like that crease.
I’ve seen so many mixed reviews on these! I’ve been waiting to get them next time I go to Sephora, hopefully I won’t have to return them :/

I’m glad that you can try them and return them, at least
Hello! I too really struggle with creasing. I have very oily eyelids and have tried tons of shadows and primers. I have been using the Bare Escentuals Prime Time brightening primer. (There are 2 shades, I use both) It’s the only primer formula I’ve ever had work for me. I also have the original clear formula and that doesn’t work as well. Perhaps you may want to try it. I have the Pug Buxom stay there and it stays all day with brightening primer underneath.
I’ve found that Too Faced Shadow Insurance works the best on my lids, but thank you for the suggestion!
