Nyx Grow Lash Liquid Liner Review

Back in February Nyx was on sale at Hautelook, so I picked up a few things. Among them was the Nyx Grow Lash Liquid Liner.

The Website Claims:
Grow lash serum helps lashes grow stronger while instantly providing precise, long lasting definition to the eye. Sweep long and full mascara onto lashes afterward to help lashes grow stronger while instantly creating a thicker, more beautiful look.

Ingredients:
water, myristoyl pentapeptide-17, glycerin, hydrolyzed soy protein, niacinamide, paeonia suffruticosa root extract, rehmannia chinensis root extract, aspalathus linearis leaf extract, trehalose, swertia japonica extract, artemisia princeps leaf extract, carthamus tinctorius(safflower) flower extract, butylene glycol, acorus calamus root extract, glycyrrhiza glabra(licorice) root extract, lonicera japonica flower extract, arctium lappa root extract, lycium barbarum fruit extract, potassium sorbate, maltodextrin, sophora angustifolia root extract, ginkgo biloba leaf extract, sorbic acid, lonicera caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower extract, phenoxyethanol, panthenol, biotin, tocopherol, arginine, hydroxyethylcellulose, sodium chloride, polysorbate 20, citric acid, adenosine

Price:
Purchased as part of a set from Hautelook for $15.60, but it is available for $13 from Nyx Cosmetics

Does it live up to its claims?
As far as I can tell, no. It did not make my lashes grow stronger or longer. That said, I think it’s a great black liquid liner. I appreciate that the container can sit upright on my vanity while I apply liner to one eye. As a liquid liner the product works wonderfully. I just don’t feel there was any noticeable difference in my lashes from using it.

Would I purchase again?
Probably not. I wouldn’t purchase it for the express purpose of growing my lashes longer and stronger. I was disappointed that this didn’t live up to its claims.

Products purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

There are just SO many of those lash-growing products out there that also do other things, it’s nice to see a frank review of one of them centered around whether or not it works for that purpose. You have no idea how many reviews I’ve read that only talked about this as a liquid liner. xP

Lol! I’m not surprised. I do mention that i think it’s a nice liquid liner, especially since the container will stand upright. But it fails at growing, on me.

I agree with the above. I wish the marketing gimmicks would stop a bit or else, work. I’m looking for a good serum though to help with sparse eyebrows. :(

I hope you’re able to find one!

I don’t really see how a liquid liner would help your lashes if it’s not even applied to your lashes. It goes on your eyeLID, so the claims don’t make much sense. Thanks to you for a quick and honest review. It’s hard to find one for lash-booster products. :)

Supposedly because it’s applied along the lash line.

How long did you use it for? most of these lash growing products take up to 8 weeks to see results. I used something similar, but i didnt see any difference for about 3 weeks of daily use.

This is what the Nyx one says:
      Usage
Use daily as an eyeliner; using brush to apply color along upper and lower lash lines as desired, working from inner to outer corner of the eye. Use in conjunction with Grow Lash Mascara during the day and Grow Lash Serum at night to create a fuller, lush, more dramatic look.

      NYX Pro-Grow
NYX Pro-Grow products are advanced, non-irritating natural formulations that promote the growth and healthy appearance of the eyelashes and eyebrows creating a fuller, thicker more beautiful look.

NYX Pro-Grow products can be used alone or in combination; with daily use results are noticeable after just a few weeks!

I used it on and off with the mascara for about a month (and I had to use other mascaras on top of the Nyx one because it just didn’t do anything for my lashes). I think the theory is the peptides help them grow.

I just didn’t see any growth from the mascara or the liner (mascara review is coming up tomorrow), so I felt it didn’t work for me.

Thanks for your honest review. Sometimes I see before and after pictures on blogs where people claim to have had an increase in their lashes due to serums I honestly can’t tell the difference between the before and after. It’s not worth it to me to add another step into my routine for results that aren’t noticeable to anyone but myself! At least this one had some redeeming qualities as a liner!

If it works for people, that’s great! I just didn’t see any results for me.

Man I feel like NYX used to be a decent drugstore brand but now their products are becoming so much more expensive! I think I saw one of their blushes retailed for 17 bucks?

I’m not too surprised about these eyeliner+serum combos but I’m hoping to see others work better

Yeah some of their stuff is more expensive. I think that grinding blush just looks messy.
