A while ago I purchased Black Magic Bottle Cream Soap because I thought I’d love it.
The Website Claims:
Claims to be used to clean your face, not too drying or too oily.
Just like with the Black Magic Facial Bar Soap, I have to say that I love how the description is written up for each ingredient in the soap, as well as listing what is generally believed that each ingredient does, but that the soap doesn’t claim to do all of those things.
Ingredients:
glycerin, water, sodium cocyl isethionate, sorbitol, propylene glycol, disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate, stearic acid, sodium chloride, diazolidinyl urea and iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, tetrasodium EDTA, calendula-infused apricot kernel and rice bran oils
This is vegan.
Price:
$6 for 2 oz., $11 for 4 oz.
Does it live up to its claims?
Yes, and then some. This is a soap that I feel is calming on my face if my skin is freaking out. If I’ve got a zit, it will help remedy it. The scent reminds me of peppermint or licorice (and while I’m not a fan of anise or licorice), I rather like this scent. Additionally, I love that it comes in bottle form now, because that’s my preferred form! I love the squeeze container because it’s easy to get out exactly the amount that you desire. And I’ll be honest, I’ve used it with my clarisonic on occasion, too.
Would I purchase?
Yes. In fact, I’ve purchased it again! I think this is a wonderful facial cleanser and I really love it in creme form. It’s definitely a gem of a cleanser.
Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

Hello Cotton
Ooooh. My one reservation about the bar soap from yesterday was the fact that it WAS a bar soap. PROBLEM SOLVED. =D

Between the bar soap and the creme soap, do you see much of a difference, or is there one you prefer more than the other?
I prefer the creme. I don’t like bar soap in general, and for me to like and use the bar soap was pretty miraculous
I’ve been looking for a good cleanser for a while now, definitely gonna have to try this!

This is a really nice one
Your post reminded me to pick that soap up. I saw the creme too and wasn’t sure if that was as effective. I appreciate you sharing this, because now I’ll get the creme. I prefer that to bars- bars seem so slimy to me after a while…so I’m excited! Thanks!

Same here! I hate the residue that bars leave behind.
I’m confused about this, because the great ingredients from the bar soap aren’t in the list of the stuff in the liquid soap.

You’d have to email Becca (OHWTO) to ask about that. This soap works like the bar on me.
I have the bar and I love this this stuff, I might have to get the cream next time though

I vote for the cream
The disappointing part is that apparently when they make it a creme they put diazolidinyl urea, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, and tetrasodium EDTA in it. That actually makes me want to buy even the bar less, because now I don’t really respect the company.
Hmmm, from what I’ve read on those substances a lot of the cautionary tales out there are just fearmongering. I think that, because the chemicals are in such a small amount and because they are only briefly in contact with the skin, that it’s not an issue.

Just ordered a bottle to try! I have been looking for a good cleanser. I use Solstice Scents Oatmeal Coconut Facial Masque and it does wonders, but I need a good everyday cleanser. Thanks for the suggestion!
You’re welcome!
