I should have blended out the crease some more, to diffuse the line between the grey and the bronze. However, I do like how the colors look together, as they’re very unusual for me to wear.
How do you turn a day look into a night look?

Hello Cotton
I really like Bronx; it looks amazing even by itself. and the lid color you achieved after layering the shadows is REALLY cool. It makes me want to experiment more. Also did you need to put more blush on before you took the second picture or did it not fade at all during the day? I’ve been thinking about buying that bronzer but was just wondering about the staying power.

I washed my face in between looks, so I re-applied everything.
I wear night looks during the day. No one’s ever called me on it, so I figure it’s okay. Also, I wear autumn colors all year ’round. I never mastered picking out more “appropriate” colors, I suppose. xD

At my old job, I could do that. At my new company, I have to wear work appropriate colors during the day, so I can only wear fun stuff at night or on weekends. After a week of neutrals, I have been missing brights!
I KNEW you used Hocus Pocus! Ha ha! I was like “that really looks like Hocus Pocus.” And, well, yeah! Love this. It was so cute. I know what you mean about having to wear neutrals to work (regarding the above comment)! I work in an office and can really only wear subdued colors, so when I’m not in work I wear INSANELY bright and complex looks, haha!
I think I’ll be able to work up to sneaking in brights as liners. I’m looking forward to trying Hocus Pocus on its own.
Love how you transformed this into the night look! Great colors!
Thanks Peach! I figured it was good to break out of my comfort zone
Dang Phyrra, you’re a little hottie!;)

LOL! Thank you!
That’s briliant! I usually just darken the crease or add a bright lipstick if I’m in a hurry. Next time I’ll try to do it your way. I fell in love with Hocus Pocus but unfortunately it was sold out before I managed to get it
Mac better bring it back soon!
I’m hoping they bring it and Jealousy Wakes back!
Very pretty! I love the colour of Bronx

It’s really pretty, Lillian. I think it looks great applied sheerly or heavily.
Argh my comment disappeared >__< anyway, I adore how you turned this into a night look – I would've just slapped on some black liner and a bold lip and called it a day XD *is uncreative*
Aww thanks Silhouette! I figured I’d try layering to see how it turned out.
I love Aculpoco on you! Great day to night transition too

Thanks Jen! I was surprised by how awesome Acapulco turned out once blotted.
Wow! Both looks really look good, I am very very impressed. The mixed shade is very interesting, and it can be a way to wear copper/orange colours for those of us who are a little scared of orange-ish eyeshadow. Or a way to warm-up greys, too. I think it will work for a lot of undertones and skin colour depths.
I am going to follow your looks more carefully now, as neutrals are more work-appropriate. Like you, I am on a new job. The women here don’t wear makeup (not even lip colour!) and I am not sure yet what is the bosses’ view on that, but I really am missing playing with looks and my bare-face look, while not ugly, is not optimal because of my semitransparent lids with green-blue veins and my sunken eye circles. I’ve always loved your eye looks, but these ones are subtle enough that I will try similar ones for work
Also, a question, for when you have time, if you or any of your knowledgeable readers/commenters wish to answer:
- Is there any way to diminish the look of sunken eye circles? More than dark circles (they do have a darker tone, but I manage to conceal it well), I have trouble with the shade created by the sunkenness… I have thought maybe a bit of sheen would help, but haven’t managed to get a correction that looks natural.
Thanks in advance!
Supposedly a tiny bit of shimmer helps, like with Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat
You can always use a skintone neutral matte shade to help with the green-blue, if you don’t wanna do a full on eye look, too. I think the other ladies I’ve seen have worn a bit of eyeliner and mascara. I’m definitely doing neutrals for my new job
