Hocus Pocus

Ok so for today’s look I went very simple, just two colors: Hocus Pocus and Vanilla. I blended the hell outta Hocus Pocus, to make this look really soft. I actually think it’s pretty despite how simple it is. It also makes my eyes look HUGE :) This is something I like. I really think Hocus Pocus is pretty. That reminds me, I picked up a few things from the MAC Blogger’s Collection. I missed out on Jealousy Wakes because by the time I got home from work it was sold out. That made me sad. However, I did pick up Hocus Pocus, All of my Purple Life, Evolution Revolution and Sonoran Rain. Did you get anything from the Blogger’s collection?

For work, I’ve been keeping my looks on the simple side so as not to frighten or offend.

To start, I applied Holika Holika BB Creme Orange in Light all over my face and eyes. I LOVE that this stuff is moisturizer, skin food, SPF, concealer and foundation in one. I just adore the coverage with this product. I next applied Nyx’s Black Brow Pencil to define my brows. After that, I applied NARS Nico to the hollows of my cheeks.

Then I applied Too Faced Shadow Insurance to my eyes. Next, I applied MAC Vanilla to my lid, blending upwards to the crease, and then to my browbone, blending downwards to the crease with an ecotools big blender brush. With a fiber optic pointed crease brush, I applied MAC Hocus Pocus to the outer v and my crease and then I blended it. I applied Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Perversion to the outer lower lash line. I curled my lashes and then I applied Diorshow primer, followed by Cove r Girl Lash Blast Luxe mascara. I finished up by applying MAC Evolution Revolution to my lips.

Now I sort of regret not getting Hocus Pocus, it keeps looking so different on everyone!

I got two Jealousy Wakes and Nitro:licious 2046 and another with Sonoran Rain as a CP

      • Phyrra

Hocus Pocus seems to look different depending how much I blend it. I blended the hell out of it here, yet it had good color payoff and was silky smooth to work with. I attribute that to the veluxe pearl finish. Yay that you got Jealousy Wakes! It seemed to me that it sold out instantly.

I actually got Jealousy Wakes and am not completely sold on it. I thought it was going to be a much brighter emerald (and on some people it looks like it) but for me it’s pretty deep (like a mossy green)

      • Phyrra

If you decide you wanna sell it, please let me know :)

Ugh, I wish i would have though to buy an extra of Jealousy Wakes just in case someone I knew didn’t get the chance! I thought about it, but I also knew how in demand it was and didn’t want to be too greedy. I’m sure you’ll get one somehow. There are a lot of people who love you!

      • Phyrra

I hope so! I was so disappointed in MAC that I couldn’t purchase one :(

You look very young and fresh! Must be the bb cream? :) As always, Hocus Pocus looks great.

      • Phyrra

Aww thanks Aileen! I definitely love the bb cream.

    • Andrea

      Nice look very neutral

      • Phyrra

        Thank you Andrea :)

I love your more neutral looks :)

      • Phyrra

        Thanks Donna!

      Very pretty!

I missed out on Hocus Pocus *le sigh* but I’m still hoping Mac will restock. After all they did say this collection is available for 6 weeks and it’s clear there’re tons of people who couldn’t get Jealousy Wakes and Hocus Pocus. I bought 2 lipglasses: Nitro:licious 2046 and Caqui.

      • Phyrra

        I’m hoping they’ll restock too!

You look so gorgeous. I love your use of bright colors and daring eye looks, but when you wear a neutral look like this, it really highlights your features.

      • Phyrra

        Aww thanks K <3

      You look beautiful, as always.

      • Phyrra

        Thank you Gio!

    • Mellow

I always stare at your colorful looks in amazement, but this is sooo pretty! I don’t even know if they sell these shadows in Germany, I would love to get Hocus Pocus. >_<
Loved the more neutral eyes lately, but please don't give up on the more daring ones. :)

      • Phyrra

I’ll only be able to do the daring ones on the weekend for a while, since I took a new job and it’s office professional, very professional, not the same atmosphere as my old job. Trust me, I’m not giving up on the colorful looks!

I adore this look. And you’re so right–it does make your eyes appear bigger! :)

I seriously need to try a BB one of these days. Your skin looks amazing. xo

      • Phyrra

Thanks G! Yes, give this one a try. It’s fab!

    • http://vulcanbutterfly.blogspot.com Vulcan_Butterfly

Argh, I feel your pain with the toning down the makeup for work thing. I really enjoy Vanilla. Even though it’s neutral it still really jumps out at you.

      • Phyrra

Yeah I can’t believe I waited this long to try it.

    • http://nanibrowneyes.blogspot.com Lizzy

You definitely know how to make neutral look fabulous, lovely! I agree this look in particular makes your eyes stand out beautifully <3

I actually don't recall how I managed this, but I lucked out & hauled the whole collection (arrived today). Since I just got back from a long night of practice, I've only had a chance to try one thing–Evolution Revolution–and I must say AT LAST!! A nude lip gloss that I don't hate!

      • Phyrra

        Yeah it’s a great gloss.
