Holika Orange FOTD

I’m behind on my FOTDs but I’m now using a new laptop. Yay! I’m still tweaking settings and trying to get everything just right. The new laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad W520 4276. It’s nice. I did a very minimal makeup look today, perfect for the hot summer, really. First I started with my LaVanila SPF 40 Face cream on my face, eyes and neck. I let that sink in for about 15 minutes. I also applied Covergirl Natureluxe SPF 15 in Marble on my lips. Then I applied Holika Holika Petit BB Creme (orange label, essential, nourishing skin) SPF 30 to my face, eyes and blended down to my neck. I applied Cover Girl Lash Blast Luxe Mascara. I used Nyx black brow pencil to define my brows. I used a bit of Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Uzi along the outer lower waterline. I added a touch of TheBalm Stainiac in Beauty Queen to my cheeks and then Inglot gloss in 541 to my lips.

I think the color on this is pretty good. It might be a touch dark, but I’ll need more direct sun pictures to tell. I definitely felt over moisturized since I used my face cream with spf and this product with spf, but that was my fault for deciding to try it out last minute.

I use a ThinkPad, too! I think you may be right about it being a touch dark, but I’m not sure. It definitely looks great in the shade photos.

Yay! This computer is so neat. It’s also amazingly light compared to my old computer.

I’ve been really wanting to try a BB creme but most are way too dark for my skin. I’ll have to check out this one. It looks good :)

      • Phyrra

This one is definitely a nice, light shade :)

I can’t personally see the darkness but as you say, more photos would help determine! As BB Creams go, I think this is a decent match.

      • Phyrra

Since I got shade on my neck in the sun pic, it was hard for me to tell if it matched or if it was a bit dark, and near the hairline it fairly good. The coverage is really good on this.

Ooh! I’ve been meaning to try out the Holika Holika BB cream! Glad to see that it seems pretty light. I’ve been reading up more on traditional BB creams, and their “pale creamy greyed- beige”…sounds a lot like how my skin looks, lol.

I would love to hear your opinion on the feel of the orange label, especially since you live in FL. I live in GA and usually wear a light moisturizer, even in the summer, but I’d definitely like to avoid something that feels overly heavy.

      • Phyrra

I effectively put on 2 moisturizers today, so I need to try it without my normal moisturizer on. I’ll definitely be doing a full review :)

My last laptop was a Thinkpad, they’re really nice! And I’m trying out one of the Petite BBs right now, working up my nerve to go outside in a new one ^.^

      • Phyrra

So far I like this BB creme.

are you succumbing to the bb cream craze too? :) i’ve been trying a couple as well. i hope you do a review of the holika holika one!

      • Phyrra

I’ve tried a few before, but wasn’t ever really excited by them. This one, however, is a much better match for my skintone than all the previous ones.

    • Gina

You might think you over-moisturized, but I think you look positively radiant and dewy (in a good way!) in that first picture.

      • Phyrra

        Thanks Gina!

i used to have a lenovo laptop and i think it’s great!

i am happy that you’re using korean cosmetics too. i think you may find a good match with their foundations and bb cream even if they usually only have two shades of each. ;)

      • Phyrra

I really love this Holika Holika. After wearing it again, I think it’s a really good match! I need to try using a powder on top of it.

I’ve wondered how BBs look on really pale skin – not bad! It looks good to me and is probably only noticeable in the bright sun if someone is staring really hard (which, to be fair, makes everything noticeable no matter how good of a match it might be indoors). Too bad BBs so far seem to have silicone as the second or third ingredient. :(

Congrats on the new laptop! I love shiny, new technology. :)

      • Phyrra

Most that I’ve tried aren’t this pale. This one is a really good match!

Loving that more pale bloggers are reviewing BB creams… I’ve just ordered a the Missha perfect cover in the lightest shade, but I’ll have to pop this one on to the to-try list. I think it looks pale enough for you! Maybe double-moisturising by accident meant you didn’t get the super-matte look?

      • Phyrra

This is the first BB creme I’ve tried that’s been pale enough :)

    • NeenaJ

I just got my Missha perfect cover in 13 (lightest shade) and I love it! Hoping to review it soon. I think you look great in your bb cream. They’re just so easy!

      • Phyrra

Thanks NeenaJ! I really do like the combination products!

      Hi, Phyrra!

I think you look absolutely dewy in this look!

I’ve tried one BB cream so far Sunkiller spf 50 from Kiss Me, but it is a tad to dark for me. It only matches my skintone when I’ve been out in the sun a couple of weeks (with spf of course).

This Holika one looks like it is paler than my current BB cream. Were did you buy it?

I’ve got to say I love this BB cream on you!

      • Phyrra

Thanks Mai! I love it, too!
