TheBalm ShadyLady Vol. 2 – Swatches & Review

A while back I picked up TheBalm’s ShadyLady volume 2 from Sephora. Since I loved TheBalm’s Stainiac in Beauty Queen (which I’ve never reviewed and will be doing soon, shame on me!), I wanted to try their eye shadows. A palette was the perfect way to be introduced to these colors.

The Website Claims:
Let your inner artist run wild with this tray full of shadyLady shadows. From the subtle to the bold, the sheer to the opaque, swish your brush and create a new masterpiece with each application. Featuring 9 shades tucked inside a zebra print package, this palette is a treat for the eyes in more ways than one. Formulated without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, phthalates, GMOs and triclosan.

Mischevious Marissa – luxurious champagne gold shimmer
Tempting Tara – bright white shimmer
Devilish Danielle – champagne peach shimmer

Price:
$39.50 for .6 oz (9 eye shadows)

Does it live up to its claims?
Yes! The colors are all gorgeous. This palette has a good mix of shades, and they’ve all got lovely shimmer, without being too glittery or over the top. They apply and blend easily, and they’re nicely pigmented. Because they’re shimmery, but not glittery, there’s no fall out to deal with, which I’m really appreciating these days. I think these colors would work equally well for work or play. Additionally, I think the palette is a great value because it breaks down to about $4.38 per eye shadow, and the eye shadows are huge for a palette.

Would I purchase again?
Yes! I’ll definitely purchase more of TheBalm’s eye shadows, probably another palette, since it’s such a great deal.

Have you tried TheBalm before? If so, what’s your favorite product?

Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

I have the tinted moisturizer from TheBalm, called BalmShelter, unfortunately it’s very limited in shade selection and slightly yellow-greenish in undertone. Good for people who are olive complected, but not me… I bought it online though before I knew about swatches! :-)

The Balm really does have awesome products. Their eyeshadows are so soft and pigmented and I use their TimeBalm concealer daily for my undereyes. Great swatches!

What’s the consistency of the concealer?

WOW you can really see the violet sparkles in “Feisty Felicia” – definitely my favorite out of the bunch.

    Love Love Love theBalm!!!!
I have their ShadyLady palettes 1 and 2. You cant find 1 anymore and its my favorite. I wasnt so crazy about 3 which is why I dont own it. I also own some of their overshadows, which are loose shimmer powders you put over your eyeshadow.
They have really beautiful blushes as well.
I dont know why they dont have more of a cult following because their stuff is gorgeous and well priced, in MHO.

I need to check out their blushes and Overshadows then :) Thank you for the recommendation!
