Nice Stems, Baby!

One day before my brother’s wedding I wore Too Faced’s Nice Stems! It’s really cute on and it’s a great soft green. I got away with wearing it at work, mostly because the green isn’t bright and acidic, as it’s more of a golden green, and I put it on my lid, rather than in my crease.

That green shadow is probably one of the most beautiful I have ever seen and it looks lovely on you.

Do you think there is a difference in putting a color on your lid versus the crease? At least, when it comes to work appropriate make up? Or do you think is it more related to an individual’s eye shape and how eye make up looks on that eye shape?

I never thought putting a color in my crease would be less professional than putting it on my lid, but your work posts have me rethinking what is appropriate make up for working at a large corporation / strict business professional environment.

In my opinion, with the way my eyes are shaped (hooded), I seem to be able to get away with brighter colors on the lid and neutrals in the crease. It probably varies based on eye shape and office. In my old office I could wear anything and no one would blink an eye. In my new office, I really need to keep it conservative.

I think a bit of color on the lid (if your eyes are shaped like mine), or an accent liner along the lower lash line might not be too shocking in a more professional setting.

That makes total sense. My eyes aren’t hooded and so whatever I have on my lid is somewhat prominent when my eyes are open. For instance, I tried to wear yellow eyeshadow at home the other day and it really looked like I just had on bright yellow eyeliner, hehe.

Thanks so much for your response Phyrra! :)
