Florida Bloggers?

Prompted by a conversation on Twitter, and a Florida Bloggers meetup, I’d love to know who all is a blogger in Florida. Please leave a comment on this entry with a link to your blog and what you focus on for your blog. I’d love to know!

I don’t hide the fact that I write my nail blog over in Orlando ;)

      • Phyrra

        I read yours :)

I’m in Orlando bloggin’ away. I focus on nail blogging but I am spreading my beauty wings and touching more on makeup and skincare. I’ve been throwing in scented candles and jewelry hauls as well.

      • Phyrra

        I read your blog :)

In Orlando as well! I blog mostly about my outfits and the nails and eyeshadow I wear with them, mixed in with random writings.

      • Phyrra

Thank you for letting me know, I’ll check you out :)

I’m in Florida, but my blog is just a personal site that is very rarely updated. Just thought I’d stop by and say hello. It was nice to see you at D*C again, even if it was only very briefly.

Looking forward to reading more of your writing!

      • Phyrra

I was happy to see you too :) Hopefully my writing won’t bore you!

I’m usually in FL, but I’m on a bit of a hiatus from Orlando. I’ll probably move back next year, though. My blog is kind of all over the place in terms of topics!

      • Phyrra

Aww I hope your hiatus is good :)

I’m in the Tampa tri-city area. I’m new to beauty blogging but I’ve been blogging since 01/02. It’s nice to read the comments and learn about some new Florida bloggers. :)

      • Phyrra

Yay! I’m glad you’re in Tampa :) I love the area.

I’m a south Florida blogger! I write about makeup and my experiences as a freelance makeup artist.

      • Phyrra

        Very cool! Miami?

    • http://manicuredslayer.blogspot.com ManicuredSlayer

I’m in Lakeland–ManicuredSlayer (linked below) is about polish mostly but I will be doing makeup/etc in it. Things that make a Slayer feel pretty :D

My other blogs have to do with my chronics, book reviews, my crafts, family life, hurricanes…um yep I think that’s all of them! LOL

      • Phyrra

Wow, how many do you write?

        • http://manicuredslayer.blogspot.com ManicuredSlayer

Um….There’s my “health/family” blog, my book review blog, Beauty blog, craft/quilt/portfolio of works blog, Hurricane blog, a self-acceptance blog (was a weight loss blog), and a blog to tell you where to find me all over the internet LOL So 7!

Yes. I do have OCD. Why do you ask? ;)

          • Phyrra

            Oh my! Well, cool :)

I’m a Florida blogger and makeup blog lurker. :P I don’t usually write about makeup, though! Mostly, my focus is on Japanese culture, news, and especially art and kimono.

I do have one short article on traditional makeup, specifically, benihana. It is an ancient lipstick made from red safflower extract. 99% of safflower extract is yellow, so benihana is very rare and expensive! Once, it was worn by the Japanese elite society. You can sometimes see it at Jidai Matsuri (Festival of Ages) today, and it is available online.

      • Phyrra

        OMG that’s so cool!

        • http://bebetaian.blogspot.com Thurisaz

Other great fashion trends included painting the teeth black (which, strangely, may have preserved their teeth despite the glutinous diet…) and shaving the eyebrows before painting them back in blue and black. Clearly, the Japanese are never afraid of colour!

Oooh that’s cool! I saved your blog too–my kids are in judo so I like learning about Japanese culture. That benihana lipstick is *stunning*!
